Finally, just what I was looking for! It’s amazing the manufactures can’t put a wiring diagram in the installation and Operating instructions! Especially, the back side of the cell with 3 wires!

Thank you for this! I just followed your step-by-step directions. Worked out great. Just a note for others: For me, it took between 8 - 9 minutes before the fizzing subsided.

You don’t need to take the electrode out just turn the whole housing upside down and pour the water/acid solution into the cell body. Much easier and less chance of leaks.

I like removing it as it only takes a second to remove and it allows me to spray water between the plates as I have hard water so it builds up quite hard. Have had little pieces remain even after soaking. They break right up with a wooden stick but wouldn’t dissolve completely with acid. That’s why I remove mine. If it was just light build up then I wouldn’t remove. But I can get thick buildup in just 2 months.

Do you know what is the front rubber tube used for, if it is missing is it gonna affect this working? Thanks

Thanks for taking time to do this. One question though, won't dipping the whole cell in acid solution corrode the terminals?
@danielguerra4447
@danielguerra4447 3 года назад
No it won’t hurt the terminals 👍🏼

You can also buy a stand and leave the outer shell on and acid will only clean the cell plates.

Excellent tutorial, will the 4:1 ratio hurt the cell? Jacuzzi suggests 10:1.

Just follow manufacturers recommendations. I prefer quick 2 mins with little more acid over less acid and longer soaks. Remember as soon as bubbles stop take it out and rinse with water.

This brand I have is basically a jacuzzi, made by same company. I bought a jacuzzi salt cell (plates) and I plugged it in to make sure it works. Works great so now it sits in a box ready whenever this one dies, but I expect several years out of it!

I found that instead of using the acid I buy 30% vinegar to clean the plates. I think it's less corrosive than the diluted acid

if you got a salt pool, i know the by product of turning salt water into chlorine is calcium hardness, does it increase your calcium hardness fast? or it takes years until it gets too high enough that it would require you to partial drain and fill?
@danielguerra4447
@danielguerra4447 Год назад
I have zero issues with calcium hardness. Have had salt pool for at least 7-8 years never had issue with calcium hardness.

What does the little black pipe at the end of the SWG do and does it need to be inserted so far up and into the top of the cell?
@danielguerra4447
@danielguerra4447 2 года назад
I’m not exactly sure why it is for. Newer models don’t have the tube. It’s not electrical so it’s not a sensor. It may be used when cell is off to allow trapped gas on top of cell to escape or top of cell to be filled with water instead of the chlorine gas.

I was looking at the wires today and the white and black wires are cut., The installer cut them. weird?
@danielguerra4447
@danielguerra4447 Год назад
Are they still connected to cell? Is cell actually producing?
@patrickacox

@@danielguerra4447 It still produces. I don’t understand why the installer cut the wires. There is nothing in the manual about wiring.

You don’t have to remove the housing. The salt cell unit pops out of the back of the clear plastic housing.
@WeThePeopleUSA

You don’t need a screwdriver. Just pull it out and twist. It’s only in there under pressure from the O-ring. This guy is dumb

You don’t even need to remove the cell at all disconnect the unions flip upside down pour the cleaning solution into the housing that’s how it’s designed. Australian made Astralpool product.
