Thank you my man, this detailed video gave me the confidence to try the maintenance myself and save some money in these times 👊🫡 2€ as a thank you for the time making it. Much Love Outta Belgium
There is no better tutorial out there. The exact right amount of instruction, words, and demonstration. Perfect . What you tube is all about. Even I could do this because of this video. You’re a star. Well done
This is the best 'how to clean the split air-con unit' video on the net. The choice of scenes, editing and commentary are at pro-level. And by the way: Your cleaning job is better than what most companies would do. Thanks a lot for this cool work!
I followed another video’s instructions a couple years ago to clean one of my units for the first time on my own. It was good, but man, I wish yours had existed then. So much great detail, especially the zoomed-in insets. ❤ I made it through, but I think I aged about a year in the process. 😱 Was so scared to break something on this quite expensive (to me) necessity. Glad to see you having to jiggle some parts to “persuade” them to come out. It wasn’t just me 😅. It’s videos like this that have allowed me to save thousands of $ (no joke). Installer didn’t warn me about this maintenance and charged me $600+ to come out to clean ONE unit that was blowing out mildewy air. Used another HVAC company the next time, but their idea of cleaning was pretty sad. Didn’t remove the blower wheel; just sprayed some (appropriate) cleaner on the coils. When I asked him about the blower wheel, he said he didn’t know how to do that 😮. I have 3 units, so had to DIY it or go broke 😠. Thank you!
@annewithrow826 thanks for sharing it's interesting to read your back story. I'm glad my video helped, and big thank you for sending the Super Thanks ❤️💰 😊👍
Thanks for the video. My Mitsubishi unit was a little different but I figured it out. To anyone hesitating about removing the blower wheel, do it. Mine was so disgustingly dirty I can't believe I was breathing the air that blew through it. This was an extremely messy and tedious cleaning job, but I'm glad I finally did it.
My aircon unit is also different from the poster's. For me was that i was able to remove the drum, but after cleaning I wasn't able to slot it back, drum's right hand side just won't slot in. I had to call for a aircon cleaning guy, he just use a sandpaper (that I managed to find in my store room) and sand a bit on the drum's right hand side cylindrical pin, and it slotted in without much of a problem. He mentioned my aircon model is one of the toughest to put back the drum, and usually he would clean the drum in-place. I bet this was the easiest S$50 he made, ever! Would I try removing the drum again? LOL, I think not, I could had damage other thing, like the compressor/gas pipe or other stuff while trying to slot in the drum. Maybe next time I will try those water-spray/water-collector-cover-thingy kit and clean without taking out the drum.
Great video. However, like many other air-con cleaning DIY videos, the biggest elephant in the room is the cooling fins, which is the most important part of the Aircon unit, remain untouched...
Your a lifesaver man. Im american living in japan and i busted the roller blower when i was cleaning it. Now i know what its called to replace it and how to clean this properly.
This is very very similar to my 2 year old Fujitsu indoor units. They've stunk every couple of weeks since 1 year after the system was fitted. I booked a deep cleaning where the engineer who visited sprayed the coils and did nothing else. I have finally cleaned the blower units in each machine and due to the disassembly, found 2 of them had severely pinched condensate drain runs, which I have now resolved. Thank you for posting this video.
Always wanted to do this and never thought I'd be able to do it. This is probably the best tutorial I've ever seen with clear and detailed instructions step by step. I just managed to clean 1 of my unit and it feels great! Thank you sooooooo much for the wonderful tutorial! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
you are a life saver! Tutorial was easy to follow and gives me confidence to try this at home. Ive been wiping and dabbing cloths where i can get too, but never fully removed the mold and crud from inside the blower. Thanks
You should move the whole radiator a bit more out of the way and remove the fan under a smaller angle to avoid damaging the bearing. Also if you do not leave enough space, you could damage the fan while removing it. (Which you almost did in Your video) If you live an environment where people are burning stuff, or just your air quality is really bad (polluted), you will get a sticky residue on the fan, and also inside the radiator blades, and the plastic walls. You shall remove those first, even by applying some de-greaser first and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. After that, i recommend some pressure wash, as regular brushing and soaking won't remove all the fungus and bacteria trap on those greasy deposits, so you will regrow them in the matter of weeks. (And you will have to redo the whole process again) Never use base liquids on your aluminium radiator, or it will leak. The "Spindle holder" is actually the rubber bushing of the sleeve / ball bearing on the fan, prior to re-installing it, you should check if it has enough OIL in it, otherwise it will run dry and damage the axle. (Also it will run noisy)
can you help, what grease is used to lubricate that rubber part on the left side where the turbine is inserted? I see that the factory is something white/gray, is it some kind of Teflon grease?
@@mateokidsvideochannel You mean inside the bearing? If it is a self-adjusting bearing bead (porous one, used by cheap brands) you can use fan oil. If it is ball bearing, you should use appropriate grease there. (Just ask your local hardware store which one they recommend) And you do not lubricate the rubber part, that is only there for shock / noise reduction, the bearing inside of it must be lubricated. (You can take them apart to see it better, they are not glued together)
Thank you so much for this info - I didn't realise the blower wheel came out until I watched your video.. our unit is only 3 years old but was full of mould that I could not get to. It's made a world of difference!
After 1 year of continuous use mine stopped being as chilling as it used to be during the first 4-5 months of install due to dust & grime, i decided to deep clean mine, didn't have the confidence to do it untill i watched this detailed video, did everything accordingly and everything works just fine, great video..
Thank you, following your guide I took everything apart, cleaned and disinfected it. It was insanely gross and dirty. I had to do this myself, because all the service companies will charge you and basically do nothing. I was willing to pay people to clean my AC but NO ONE WANTS TO DO IT! Even for OUTRAGEOUS sums of money. Lazy scammers all of them!!! THANK YOU MY GOOD MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I watched a lot of other videos on how to clean a Mitsubishi A/C, but this one is the best. Thanks for the clear, step by step instructions, with up close visuals. Thanks!!
By the time I got to this video I was tired of seeing stuff that was at least funny. This is really a step by step video, how to clean the indoor unit , clear picture, English you understand. Thank you very much!!
Great guide for removing the blower! The one thing that I do differently is to spray the vaporizer (cooler unit/ radiator) with a an AC disinfectant solution before putting the cover back on. It will then rinse itself with the condensation if you leave the unit on for 20-30 minutes. I also use the same solution for the filters after washing them.
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I just finished cleaning my mini-split using your video as a guide. Well done! I didn't have the confidence before, but your video gave me the nudge I needed. Also, one tip, don't install the blower wheel all the way to the right (flush up against the side) - it will make a rubbing noise when rotating. I backed mine off about 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch to the left before tightening the screw and it runs silent.
Just paid SGD160 to a freaking scam shop LY AIRCON to do chemical wash . . .but my fan blower wasn't even taken out for washing. ... Gonna DIY! Thanks to your video - Clearest on the entire world wide web I believe. 😃
Great very detailed but simple to understand video, followed the instructions and cleaned my 3 split systems myself on Saturday.Would have cost me $180 to get someone to come out an do this instead.
This is the video I’ve been looking for!! I could not find an ac cleaning video better than this - so Thank You!! The details, step by step, the camera work - all so helpful. Some people making videos like this seem to forget that this is a job we have never done before - I need the details & I can’t afford to miss a step. So, BIG thank you. New sub. :)
Boy, I needed your video yesterday!! I watched about 10 videos on cleaning my Mitsubishi. Try as I might for a couple of hours, I couldn’t get the wheel out! This was my first cleaning attempt after one year’s use. You video is definitely the most detailed, best close-ups and best complete description! I had to clean the wheel the best as I could while it was still in place, but I will know how to do it next time, thanks to you! I really appreciate it! It’s amazing and disgusting how dirty and slimy these things get. Great instructional video!
Thank you! Yes it's amazing how dirty the wheel can get. The satisfaction when you finally clean it out. Keep us posted when you get to remove the wheel next time.
Doesn’t it seem like the Mitsubishi dealer / installer should have mentioned that these need frequent deep cleaning? I’m doing this 3x’s + a year in Florida.
An excellent video with specific and nice close up shots. Best video yet. I clean my own unit and have used these videos for “reference refreshers” before I do my annual service. Only thing to add like another comment is to spray and clean/disinfect the fins (metal coils) with a cleaner which they sell at most hardware stores. It cleans and conditions the metal and helps future corrosion. Easy one step spray to add while your at it. Thanks again for a great video which will be used as my reference for future!
One heads up is to find a cleaner that's for coil cleaning because if you use some other random cleaner it can make the metal coils corrode in future so have to use the right cleaner.
Extremely clear n easy to understand step by step guidance on how to dismantle an indoor ac unit for cleaning : was always wonder how to dismantle the fan blade when i do a simple cleaning , now i got my answer You the Best Thank you so much 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@sosolomon22 I have subscribed. If you also know know how to disable the loud beep that comes on each time the remote control button is pressed, please put up a similar video. Thanks!
I have seen some of the RU-vid video on how to clean the indoor unit but they are not so clear as this. Thank you sir for this clear and detail explanation.
My AC has been making some terrible grinding noises at 3am, I wake up and turn it off as fast as possible. I've put it down to the fan. It's also not nearly as cold as before. I've called dudes in due to not being cold and they just power wash it for lots of money. I'm not calling anyone again. I found this video and I've watched this video 4 times and am ready to give it a go! Hopefully I can find out what is causing the grinding, and clean it out myself at the same time. Much appreciated! :)
Great video, saving people money! You're providing a great service to people... I've got an HVAC buddy and I asked him to check the pressure of my freon. I told him I'd read that low freon will cause freezing over. He said yes, as well as dirty filters and blower wheel. I'd never thought the blower wheel would have such an impact, but I'd also noticed diminished air flow... waiting till sunset to pull blower wheel. My filters have never really been dirty, each time I cleaned them.
Fantastic video. I am having trouble with the blower. It’s not spinning fast when I put it back. It’s like it is too tight on each side. I’ve taken the unit apart twice now. I’m not sure if I should grease the bearing. I did everything you did in your video. This was the best one I’ve seen.
Thank you sir for the clear video showing all the steps . The shot to show where the screw holding the blower was so good. ! Even a noob like me managed to do the servicing. 😂
@@sosolomon22 it did ! just finished cleaning mine for the first time, it just the part of the roller blower was harder, and more technical to get it out, but without your vid . would be much harder, thanks brother keep up the good work
One of the best DIY videos I've yet to see and I'm always DIYing. The detailed sequential algorithm/process and the close-up shots were wonderfully effective in disseminating the transfer of knowledge. Much appreciated.
Tq sir.. Really helps me how to open the casing and I manage to clean the fan and the tray as well.. Otherwise everyday got leaking.. After run the test 30mins no leaking I put it back the casing... Thank you again and may God bless u.. 😊
Wow this is really well explained. I need maintanance now to my AC unit and I will still call a specialized guy to take a look maybe it's the freon... but I just appreciate a lot the way you presented it this detailed... I know it took a lot of time to set up everything to show it this way. Congrats you deserve the views :)
Excellent! Million times thank you! I did follow your instructions and worked. Also I have found out that I paid too much for so so aircon "deep cleaning". Thank you for sharing knowledge with us. Really appreciate it
Thanks for the clear and concise video (without much chatter). I had a hard time putting back the drain tray though (on the right side). A small token of thanks for your sharing.
The best detailed tutorial about the cleaning process out of all similar videos I have watched on RU-vid. I wish someone could do a tutorial like that for Sanyo KS1271.
Thanks so much, my man. Very appreciate. Suffer on dripping water. Struggle on disassembing the drian pan. Criss dismissed bacasue of your video. Have a good day.
😀 haha thank you! Yes self directing, filming and cleaning not easy so very happy at the end and even more happy now that many people find the video useful 😊👍
Sure please use it and share the link. Pardon my use of the wrong words to describe the parts though. 😅 And I don't mind receiving a Super Thanks from the company. 😅
Great video, gave me the confidence to access the unit and remove all of the mould. If you have a 2020 + model there is no need to remove front directors. They come out with the drain tray. Cabling is the problem, small wires to vane motors, awkward. Hope this helps others. Many thanks . Mike
What an easy to follow detailed explanation. You are very good 👍. Thank you very much. I was afraid I might break something but you made it look easy. I’m very confident now 😂
