I could watch Mr. Lords Electrical all day explaining and cleaning Dysons. So informative and calming at the same time, especially when watched at 75% speed 🙏🛠️
This video was brilliant for me - the pace was right, the explanations were spot-on and I was thrilled my Gen5 detect worked perfectly after I’d followed the instructions and suggestions (including the coin to swivel the carpet and rug tool open and using a paintbrush!).After ploughing through all the slick Dyson shorts in my app, I discovered - by way of this video -just how much dirt and grime there was still to clean! Thank you so much🎉
clever idea to empty the bin behind the camera . very clever . if you have done it in front of the camera we would be able to learn the secret . very helpful thanks
Thank you so much from Germany I'm not a commenting person, but I got the device today and after cleaning the house I had to clean the device and I didn't know how to clean it, how to open it. Thank you
I got one of these a week ago, it keeps pulsing saying blockage. 20 minutes runtime from brand new I couldn’t find a blockage, cleaned it all and it kept pulsing. In the end I cleaned the filter, left it to dry for a couple of days and had the same problem again. I even used my old Dyson before using the Gen5, I’m at my wits end with the stupid thing.
Nice video if i may ask how often should you clean the dyson parts and filter etc? should it be cleaned after every use? Or maybe every week or every month? Thank you in advance for any help you can give
Really depends how often you are vacuuming and how dirty the vacuum is once you have vacuumed. On the whole i would say to clean the vacuum and tools around every 4-5 months or sooner if they look like they need it.
Where can I not wash the barrel? It does not seem to have electrical wires etc. Mine is Gen 5 outsize. Also, does it matter if the top part of the filter which you can wash gets wet? Mine is very dirty. All help gratefully received
The filter you should be ok to wash as long as its completely dry before putting back together. If there are no wires in the bin then you may be ok to wash it lightly but again dry before putting back together.
Cleaning the main part where the barrel goes. Could you use a bottle brush to go up inside to get more dust/dirt out? Plus could I wipe down the outside any help much appreciated
Yes you could use a dry bottle brush that should be ok to use just don't force anything in there. You can also wipe down the outside of the vacuum too to make it look better.
i have a dyson animal big ball cylinder ive cleaned and cleaned it but it stinks of vomit every time i use it ive cleaned filters too didnt replace them as they are clean enough but it still comes back have you any advice how to get rid of it
It sounds like the filters need replacing. They can smell like that when they have been washed a lot and need replacing as it's not filtering the air like it used to
Note: DO NOT TAP ON THE METAL SHROUD while cleaning the main body. I ended up badly denting mine on my V12. Dyson was kind enough to replace the main body under warranty, but it's best to avoid the damage altogether
As long as its the bin you ran under water, you may be ok, hopefully its not the main body where the motor is located. If it is the main body that is wet, then do not turn it on, let it dry in a warm room for at least a couple of days. Cross fingers for you 🤞
Thanks for the reply, the vacuum still works but the bin and the main body both smell like super strong wet dog that won't go away even after cleaning it like shown in the video, how can I get rid of the smell? @@lords-electrical
@@0NathanW Always a difficult one, but if you've given it a really good wash, make sure the filter is washed too and make sure they are both completely dry before putting back together. If they go back even slightly damp, they can smell
Love your videos. I’d suggest lowering the volume in post editing when you’re tapping the sides of the canister as it can be very jarring, especially when listening on headphones. Otherwise I find them very informative and relaxing
every one use the compressed air on them, i received today my first dyson, the gen5 and im worried about cleaning it once a mounth with compressed air!
