I have 24x12 fuel forged wheels. And bought the exact stuff used in this video.... ... this stuff is the real deal. My wheels look brand new and feel super clean, and smooth. I recommend these products to anyone with forged wheels.... great job chemical guys...
I would love to see an easy way to clean and polish my wheels that I recently bought from someone. They have a welded imitation bead lock on them so it’s non removable on a 20x10 XD Diesel full chrome wheel. Lots of holes to clean and polish so it’s one of the most difficult things I’ve seen. If I had a picture I’d be able to show you exactly how bad it is. But I love the wheels so I want to be able to do it an easy way.
Just bought some for my atv wheels since they where oxidized. Definitely works. But I recommend buying 2 buster balls! Thought I could get away with just 1 and washing it out and re using it but I regret not buying that second one 😂
But if you start with the wheels and then wash the truck, wouldn't all the dust, grime, debris, etc. from the truck make it's way onto the freshly clean wheels? I mean IMO I'd do the wheels last as well. If you are careful enough you can minimize any sort of flinging onto the vehicle maybe some spots but wipe them off. But doing the wheels first I'd feel as if I'd have to do it all over again if I washed the vehicle afterward.
If you had water in the first place why not use the other wheel brushes? I get the Point of polishing with it. The average person can really mess up their wheels with this tool on a dirty wheel

Chemical Guys I have a question I just bought a Range Rover and it'll already has scratches all over how can I remove them ? And also what should I use to clean the interior . Please I really need help
a light cut and polish over the entire car helps. it won't remove 100% of everything but most detailers offer like a stage 1,2,3 polish. if its brand new it most defiantly hasn't been polished, dealerships usually don't offer that. add in a sealant and wax would help.
Can you buff and polish wheels I’m curious because I see some scratches on my wheels they are also painted someone please let me know before I mess them up any more
Hi Peter! Great question. If the wheels are painted, we recommend V36 optical Grade Cutting Polish to remove any light scratches from painted wheels. Make sure to clay bar the wheels before any polishing, we recommend using V36 with dual action polisher or a rotary polisher to produce enough heat and break down the product and reveal the true cut. Hi I have American torque thrust polished aluminium 5 spoke wheels . That had become tarnished and covered in water spots. I decided to rub them down with with fine emery paper and wire wool. And left them a Matt finish. Simply because they're so hard to keep clean and shiny. Do you think your mops could polish difficult 5 spokes . Thanks James

I made the mistake of spraying a cleaner with acid on one of my chrome American wheels while it was hot and it left a white stain on it how can i remove it
Will this work for black painted wheels? Or is there something else you recommend for polishing them? Mine have some minor scratches from washing that I was hoping to remove.
Hi Gavin, thanks for watching. The light metal polish is intended for use on chrome aluminum, billet, copper, brass, and precious metals. I don't suggest using this product on painted surfaces as it could add further damage to the wheel. If anything you could try the VSS since it's designed for clear coats, and single stage paint. In any case if you decide to pick up the VSS, it's best to try it on a small test area to see if you're getting the desired results.
Hey Rudy! Thanks for your question. Heavy Metal Polish contains abrasives to remove heavy oxidation and stains. Use Light Metal Polish to maintain gloss while adding protection.
Can you guys do a video on an older vehicle that has deeper scratches then most of these newer cars you have? Its great seeing all these products but not everyone has a brand new car with brand new paint to polish. I would be nice again to see you guys clean an older car that has been neglected severely.

I'm assuming you'd have to polish the face mostly by hand? I can see the ball buster gets the lip easily but I never see you guys do the face of the spokes tho.
An actual really close up would be nice to show the true finish that was left. like a 6" shot. Also a side by side comparison would enhance this video to really see what's going on otherwise. Anything that was "polished" looks good from 5 feet away.
So I have 20x10 -24's on my truck but they are american truxx matte or satin black wheels how would you go about cleaning and detailing these wheels as I do not believe they need polish
Hey Ervey, we would recommend cleaning them with Meticulous matte soap with a bucket, or in a spray bottle with a show car brush. Only use the most neutral products and careful brushes so as not to cause scratching of any kind. It's best to hose the wheels off first with filtered water, then spray the wheels with Meticulous Matte and agitate the product through the spokes, crevices, and lug nuts. For the face of the wheels, I would recommend using the Long Handle Body & Wheel Brush with Flagged-Tip Bristles to scrub all the nasty filth, and rinse the tires off to get rid of all that abrasive break dust. You could apply Jet Seal Matte to them to keep them from oxidizing in the sun. is there any way to polish forged wheels to a mirror finish? seems like in this video that the rim still has some scratching and staining where the polish was used
Hi Zane, you could opt for an applicator pad and polish by hand. We also carry a heavy metal polish for more tarnished, and oxidized wheels. I would recommend applying a sealant like Max Coat Wheel Guard, or Jet Seal. The wax will help to clean the wheels, adding shine and protection. Jet Seal and Max Coat will create an invisible shield to protect your wheels from oxidation, and contaminants. Chemical Guys Alex -

Yeah I've seen this one, so basically I would use this technique on the whole vehicle in all areas ? Wich pad should I use if I'm using the light blue polish ( scratch and swirl remover) I don't own a machine so this will all be Handy work :/
Yes, you're going to want to work up and down, back and forth giving the abrasives a chance to work the scratches and even out the clear coat. As for the VSS (light blue polish) it depends on the condition of your car but we recommend starting with a light pad to test it out on a spot and see if it does the job. Doing it by hand means you have a long day's work ahead of you but trust us, it'll be worth it in the end!

Thanks for watching our video. I say start by cleaning with them with Diablo Wheel Gel, it's safe for all wheel types. Try using a clay bar, or block to remove the contaminents imbedded in the pores of the wheels. You can use our light metal polish to remove any haziness, and restore a more brilliant luster to the wheels.
Great video, two quick questions. What do you recommend to do when you can't rinse off after the initial clean? I just wipe my wheels down. I'm on the road as a truck driver. 2nd question, can the ball buster be washed and reused after waxing/polishing and or cleaning? Or is it best to leave them as is with the chemical and etc.? Hey Joe! Thanks for tuning in. I recommend using a quick detail spray such as Speed Wipe to gently wipe away brake dust and road debris to maintain shine. Use an all purpose cleaner like Nonsense to clean the Ball Buster as well as any brushes, using warm water will help release filth from the bristles. - CG Nick

To remove brake dust from chrome wheels, use Diablo Gel Wheel Cleaner lift and separate filth and grime from wheels. Hey! The TORQX can be used to polish the flat and larger areas of the wheel however the Ball Buster will be more effective around intricate cracks and crevices.

That big ball will not fit in the small holes in my aluminum billet wheels. I need small attachments to do inside the spokes. I can’t continue doing this with my fingers for hours on one wheel. If I wear out my finger one more day, I’ll have to sleep on the couch. 😂
Alex, how's it hangin'? The best way to get the ballbuster clean is to get a bucket full of the pad cleaner, dip the ballbuster into the solution, and wring it inside of the bucket. you can use a dirt trap so you don't reintroduce some of the dirt that you've put into the conditioner. Once you've wrung out the pad, grab a microfiber towel and wring the ballbuster again into the towel to help dry it. Remember to always use the ballbuster on clean wheels, prepping the wheels will ensure that you won't have as much filth to remove down the line. -CG Javier
Hello there, thanks for watching the video!! Yeah this definitely works for removing heavy dirt, and contamination from the exhaust. You would want to use the light metal polish because it's the least aggressive approach, and the safest. Be sure to apply sealant at the end to avoid oxidation, and damage from exposure to the sun.
Ryan T you gotta get it grinded down professionally and have them resurface the edge if it is heavy. If not some light sanding could do but will dare the finish
Thanks for watching. I recommend washing them with Diablo wheel gel, using a light paint polish like VSS to remove scratches and swirls. Lastly use some wheel guard to protect them from oxidation. If the damage is severe, the wheels will have to be sounded and repainted.

Looks like the perfect tool for cleaning my 22" chrome plated wheels. Unfortunately, my wheels have a bit of pitting and corrosion. I know I can never get them back to their original condition save a complete refurbishing, so I'm curious as to what Chemical Guys polish you would recommend to bring them back as far as possible?

Then you'd want to use some Heavy Metal Polish to remove scratches, swirls, and oxidation from the wheels. You can use a drill or hex pad applicator for that. To prevent future damage, oxidation, and water spots, apply a sealant. The perfect one to use for this situation is Wheel Guard Max Coat . vannak pril you use the LIGHT metal polish. The heavy duty has the abrasives to remove heavy oxy and crap off the wheels. You probably scratched your wheels with the abrasives in the heavy duty polish. that’s why you got the haze

It depends on how long the water spots having been sitting there. polishes contain abrasives which break down protective coatings that the water spots cling to, hence why polishing removes tarnish, impurities, and scratches. Water spots are the worst, once they etch, they are almost impossible to get rid of.

That's a great question and thanks for watching. You can use a Hex-Logic Hand Applicator Pad to apply the polish manually if you choose not to use the drill to apply the polish.
