Hello Guys so today I made my first how to video. In this video I explain how best I find to clean my action figures when they arrive. As they come pretty dusty most of the time. I Also show how to straighten the Action figure Card or backing board if it's warped due to bad storage. I've been doing this a long time now experimenting with what works best for me. So I thought I'd show you guys as it's a different process then say pressing comic books.
In this video I show you how to clean using lens wipes and the results that you get from doing so.
These wipes are mildly damp so are perfect for cleaning the card and plastic with out over wetting and prevent any damage or ink transfer from the card.
I show you how to press the figure card so that it goes back to a nice straight card. I don't always get it first time if it's really warped out of shape. So sometimes I just put it in again. This is just because I feel putting the press to hot may damage the retro action figure card. Which really don't want. So best to play it safe.
That said I do find if the Action figure is left in the press over night with a fair amount of pressure on after its reached its heat and switched off it will get better results.
I also show you how you can use the press to reseal a side down if a figure has lifted up. Which happens sometimes due to bad storage or conditions the Collectible figure has been in.
So hopefully this will help you guys and of course you can experiment with this your self you can use an dry iron no steam and a flat surface with some teflon paper or baking paper and card each side if you don't own a press. I have done this before but the press adds extra pressure and keeps the card in the desired shape so results are much better.
In this video I had run out of the White silicon paper I normally use for comics and so used some normal baking paper for this video. But I would recommend normally you only use white silicon baking paper.👍
