I will be honest, I don't have a rabbit. I watch your videos because you guys or girls, love each other so much. It is evident when we get to see you interact, or talk about Lennon. I am glad Lennon is okay, she looks beautiful after the events of Bunnyfest. Thanks for sharing your love as always, and keep up the great work Lorelai.
I want to tell you guys something I have a rabbit so sweet I don't deserve its love. I used to take really bad care of him!, I would forget to take him out of the cage. I'm trying to fix all the problems I caused. And even though I have been taking care of him badly he cuddles, allows me to pet him, he licks me and sleeps while I pet him when I cry he was there for me So if you are not caring for your animal there's hope to fix it. (I know it's not related to the video but just to tell you guys)
Tish Mish This is where I’m at right now...I just get so overwhelmed with all the responsibilities of having a rabbit! I always feel bad that I’m not caring for them well though...but it’s just so hard! How did you work back up the motivation to take care of him better again..?
@@Twinkletoesss27 knowing that you have a long time to spend with your bun but that time is limited so if your still having a hard time trying to take care of it try check on RU-vid for hacks if you have a hard time cleaning always rest after awhile of cleaning listen to music while you clean and if someone says you can't take care of your bun try to prove them wrong.
@@Twinkletoesss27 also its OK everybody does mistakes if you have a hard life it's hard to take care of anything for me people bully me for no reason, and if your rabbit loss some fur like on the feet or something but it's still happy and energetic it's going to be OK if it's not try sending it to the vet if you don't have enough money let people know if they don't care (they have a problem) make a go fun me. To remember what to do to take care of a rabbit put alarms like give rabbit playtime, feed rabbit, put rabbit in cage, and clean the rabbit cage or room... And if non of these work let me know even do I might not be the best person for education I'll try help anybody with a problem okay?
Tish Mish that took a lot of courage for you to openly admit your imperfections, or lack of knowledge or both. But I for one want to give you props on your growth when it comes to recognizing where you need to improve, I think that's great that you have the courage to seek help in guidance.
I’m potty training my rabbit right now. In fact he’s in the litter box right now. He’s doing pretty good actually, even though he’s not neutered Edit: never mind. Not even 5 minutes later he peed on the floor. Even though he had JUST used the litter box. *sighs*
It’s really hard to train an unfixed rabbit, I got 2 rabbits (2 months) and they are young, so they can’t be fixed yet. If your rabbit is atleast 3-7 months old, I recommend spaying & neutering them before they age more.
Apple cider is everything! It's non-toxic and it won't harm your bunny health, it removes bad smell and cleans litter box better than anything! Thank you for more great tips! xoxo❤
Many rabbits HATE the smell and will not go near anything sprayed with ACV for days until the odor is gone. The smell is VERY irritating to their gentle mucus membranes. Much safer to use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide for disinfection which is odorless and inactivates quickly. Hydrogen Peroxide also does not leave a residue like ACV does that can irritate bunnies skin or taste bad if they lick themselves. The more you know.. 🌈
Just got a bunny and now I am learning everything I can, to give this little pooper the best home possible. He already claimed the leather couch as his bed :D Thanks for the awesome content. Please keep going Greetings from Berlin ^^
I absolutely love your channel and whilst I was in the process of finding my bunny I always came to your channel to watch all of your videos to get help and advice about how to care for Bunnies, I’m so happy I found your channel and I love you and Lennon so much💜💜
Ive been watching ur vids for 5yrs now js to learn about rabbits since i really wanted one. Last weekend i finally got one and now im watching your videos to make sure im doing things right!💓
i got a bunny before knowing a single thing about them, cuz it needed an owner urgently and i took it in. it's been here for 4 days now and i'm constantly watching and reading everything i'm worried about and most of the times when i ask smth online, your videos pop up hahaha so thank you for posting those! i feel a lot safer knowing that someone's already explained what's safe for bunnies and how to do it. he trust me from day 1 and even lets me pet his belly, he looks so healthy and happy and is eating nicely, drinking a lot of water and his poop looks healthy too. i don't have any health concerns, but we haven't taken him to the vet yet (it's 24C inside and 45C outside so i don't want to risk him by shocking him, so we haven't taken him to the vet yet.. ) the second i get a health concern or change in the mood, i'll consult a vet and take him there if needed... but for now we're doing great
Just made a switch to the hooded litterbox and so glad I did! Was worried my bun wouldn't use it after being used to the standard open trays, but he started using it straight away after I set it up. Now I don't have to worry about having people over and judging my buns open toilet lol 😂
I don't need any of this info as I already did my research before I got my rabbit, but I just absolutely love seeing Lennon and you do your guys' thing 😔❤
@@kendall4060 I feel the same way! When I first brought my rabbit home I didn't want to force her in a cage or anything so I kind of let her do whatever was comfortable for her and get used to her surroundings, she just decided from there on that she was most comfortable with being free roam so I let her, she absolutely loves having the freedom of sleeping in every doorway in the house! And not to mention being able to wake everyone up in the morning lol.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS. WE JUST RESCUED A BABY RABBIT RUNNING IN THE MIDDLE OF BRICKEL MIAMI. WE WERE GOING TO JUST FOSTER AND FELL IN LOVEEE. WE POTTY TRAINED IT FAST. I CANT BELIEVE HOW SMART THEY ARE. NOW LOOKING FOR A FRIEND TO ADOPT. THANK YOU
I got my first rabbit two days ago, and I haven't planned a litter at all. I didn't do my research well, but this evening I tried it and it seems like he understood how to use it right away ! It's a start, as I am aware that he probably make some mistakes again, but I'm soooo relaxed about it now ! It was such a source of stress
I use a hooded litter box with a door because my bun likes to dig all her litter out. My bun likes to chew pee pads, if I use them and cut the plastic sides is it still safe for her to chew? Or should I just use paper bags or newspaper?
I can't use pee pads either, i use a 3 layered litter box. First layer is hemp pellets (0 dust and absorb up to a week if needed) second layer is hurgo hemp bedding, and ater it i use a thick layer of straw. I keep hay in a hay pen right next to the litterboxes :)
I have an uncastrated rabbit and he's a boy. He doesn't want to be held in hands and I tried to teach him to the toilet several times, but it didn't work out... But Lennon is so nice and quietly sitting in your hands. I love him!!
And if your asking what type of breed she is I really don’t know we saved her from a swap meet because she was in a super small cage and they were so many bunnies in it and she didn’t have no food or water it was sad so we took her in without no information about her what we found our gender quick
Hi Lorelei and Lennon! I love your channel and have been watching for around 3 weeks now. I adopted a rabbit called bubbles and wanted to provide him with the best care I could. Initially we were advised to have him in a cage a give him a water bottle. I now give him a bowl with water. I now am transitioning him into a large pen and I give up to 12 hours of play time. Thank you so much for providing great information and spreading awareness. I love your channel so much and wish you and Lennon much luck in the future. Xx lots of love from London ❤️
I love the use of the cat litter tray, I mean really they should just call them pet litter trays. I plan on getting a tray with a hood. Currently using an open tray since my bun is so big, and can't really find a big hooded litter tray. Love the video as usual ❤
I’m so glad Lennon is feeling better! The last video scared the crap out of me! I too use puppy pads in my bunnies boxes and the litter I use is just Horse stall pine pellets.
I use horse stall bedding it's cheap and effective, however if you dont live in a town full of farms it may be hard to get your hands on as the bags are usually 40 lbs, and the manufacturer is probably not willing to ship it to your address.
Here is some info from The Rabbit House Society. When performed by a qualified veterinarian spay/neuter surgery is a safe and beneficial operation for rabbits. Here are some aftercare recommendations. It’s normal for rabbits to be sore for a few days afterwards. Ask your veterinarian about pain management at home. Pain management is very important for a quick and healthy recovery. Your rabbit needs to begin eating as soon as possible - within 24 hours of surgery. Offer fresh water, hay, veggies, and pellets. Keep a close eye on food and water consumption. If normal eating and drinking does not resume within 24 hours consult your veterinarian. Once back at home put your rabbit in a quiet, warm environment. If your bunny is part of a bonded pair or a group keep them together, as long as they interact calmly with each other. Being together during recovery should be comforting for your rabbit and can reduce stress and facilitate healing. Avoid handling your rabbit to much the first night after surgery. She’ll appreciate having a quiet space to rest without too much interference. In the three or four days following surgery she should resume her normal routine, including her normal activities, appetite, and interactions with you. Do limit exercise for the first 10 days. Be sure to monitor your rabbit’s poops! Output should return to normal within a day or two. If fecal output slows or stops contact your vet right away. Rabbits generally recover quickly from spay/neuter surgery and often return to their normal behavior in just a few days. Males usually recover from neuter surgery more quickly than females recover from spay surgery. It is important that you wait 30 days after surgery before making an introduction to other rabbits.
So glad Lennon is a lot better and so are you. Thanks to your channel I rescued a dwarf bunny. My little man Noah, so far he's not litter trained because hes not neutered(yet) but he sits on the hay! So it's a start! Thank you so much for your channel!
😂😂 You must be wasting a lot of money! check craigslist to see if there are farms near you that sell 50 lbs. for $5 also if you look on amazon you can find hay thats slightly cheaper than pet store hay Please don't waste your money on that!!!!
Wolfi fan yes a few days after the comment i just posted i stopped getting small bags of hay at the local pet shop, now i buy at a hay mill where they sell lots of big bags of timothy hay for very cheap! Thank you though
I am SO happy I found your channel! I got my holland lop as a promposal 3 years ago and had no idea what I was doing since in my opinion that’s a awful way to just get a pet handed to you like that! 3 years ago there were only kids making videos about it or poorly made videos which were awful to watch and didn’t have much information on what I was looking for! Since watching your first video I’ve watched nearly all of them in a day and my bunny seems SO much happier and even healthier!
Hey, I have a question... Why would i put hay on the litter would he pee on the then ingest the " pee hay ". And if hay is 80 percent of there food why wouldn't i put the hay simply in the food bowl. Please respond im planning on getting a rabbit
@@Solmulaa Rabbits are intelligent animals, so your bun will most likely know to pick out the fresh bits of hay from their litter box. Rabbits are like to eat while doing their business, which is why we put hay in their litter box.
Took me a while, but Cadbury now eats his hay regularly! I don’t leave it in his litter box but he does get it everywhere! So your tips are great! He has his own room so it’s no biggie. I don’t mind sweeping everyday. My mom has a dog which is why he has a room to himself. I let him out and play and the dog is elsewhere. Normally they are okay but I feel better when she’s away from him.
OMG I'm so happy I just got a new bunny today I cried when my mom got me it AHHHHHHHH it's black and white and it's name is Valentine!!😭😭😭🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🌈🌈🦄🦄🦄💖💖💖💖💖💖🐰💖🐰🐇🐇🐰
I really had no idea on how to care for a rabbit until watching theses videos . I really continued to watch to make sure I wanted a rabbit 🐇 thank you so much for inspiring me to adopt my own baby rabbit. I just have a problem with getting to know my baby she doesn’t like being touched yet . 😔
Thank you for your videos! I was also stuck in the commercial method shavings and cage set up. I watched your video and hay in the litterbox! I was at first. Food where you do your thing??? But it works brilliant. I converted my one after neutering and after 48 hours I’m converting everyone now. I have 5 so free roam together is not possible. But they all get their individual time. They are almost all on fleece and litterbox method now. Happier bunnies= happier me. They are my “fur babies”
The person I am getting my rabbits from told me to buy cat litter, but I couldnt find it in the store so I got paper litter for rabbits, and I am so happy I did that!!!! Was a lil weirded out by the cat litter
I have bought them at the dollar store but we also have a Ollie's its like a little bit of everything store I get the Big Pee Pad cheap by the Hundred for around 10 dollars when on sale www.ollies.us/home.html
Also don’t overwhelme yourself with heaps of responsibilities like don’t ever think your doing a bad job I’ve grown up with bunnies and since I had my own (my past ones were family bunnys) I’ve always felt bad I could never do the best job I’m sure you’ll do an amazing job taking care of your bunny good luck :)
I ise the equi e bedding pellets as the wood can be composted. I change my box once a week as its incredibly good at reducing smell. I dont clean when it gets smelly though I clean for hygiene reasons.
I just got my rabbit 3 days ago and she’s already litter trained in just 2 days..so i gave her a treat as a reward..she doesn’t poop or pee everywhere already :D
My rabbit grew up in a cage (I eventually free roamed in my room because I found you) and I turned turned it into a litter box by removing the metal so she thinks its her old home I think. My rabbit is not spayed but since she grew up in the cage, she got used to it. She is also just a super smart rabbit :). I'm thinking on throwing it out and buying an actual litter box because the old cage is an eye sore and the sides are low. I needed some information on how to set one up so thank you!! :DD
For anybody wondering... tractor supply has a 40 lb bag of pellet litter for only 6 dollars! (5 for two right now!) they have tractor supply stores everywhere and they are offering free curbside pickup for most items!
This is so random but I let my rabbit free roam on my room all day yesterday and night and he stayed in my bed with me. He did wake me up a few times but I didn’t mind, he’s still free roaming in my room now and I’m thinking about keeping him free roam :) it’s so amazing and feels so much better!
I love using ground corn cobs for litter. It is used mostly for the bottom of bird cages. I’ve tried it all and this is my favorite. I also use the pee pads for a liner. Happy pooping, y’all.
I just got my bunny Gracie on Saturday, I had bought a different type of little box from amazon and she really likes it and has used it consistently at 2 months old I am impressed. She has poops outside her box but not pee. I am needing to move her to one like yours as this is really small but is only 2 months old and I worry she can't get into it for now she is in an x-pen but I plan on free ranging in the main part of my apartment it has no carpet. But where not there yet and I have a dog so they are getting acquainted slowly and she won't be able to be free roaming when leave but I work from home. My dog is actually afraid of the bunny for now. Thank you for your info.
My buns always appreciate the low front, high back entry boxes. I can't find lids but discreet corners under a wood TV table do very well. Hardwood or Pine pellets are great odor absorbents. My guests could unwittingly sit right next to one and never notice a smell.
My litter box set up is similar but I use a extra large storage bin with one side cut low for entry. No lid as my bun is massive (20lbs). I use the puppy pads to line, paper pellets for litter then hay on top. I keep a supply of baby wipes and use those to clean/wipe out the box during cleaning.
Once my older sister goes to college I get her room then I am going to free roam my bunny I’m sharing a room with my other sister and she doesn’t like bunnies at all. This video really helped me thanks😘
These videos are so incredibly helpful! I'm currently about to foster 2 bonded bunnies and i've been preparing using handbooks and your videos - Thank you so much for all the tips!
I just wanted to say, your videos are the reason my flemish giant bunny has free run of the house unless I an mopping. She's six months old and we love her to bits. Her name is cornell in honor of the late Chris cornell. Another rock star bunny. I am glad lenen likes her new home. Keep hopping.
She is about eleven pounds now. The vet said she'll top out around twenty two pounds. That box of spring mix lasts two days not a week. I need a garden to feed this girl which is fine with me. When we bought hay for the first time the farmer wasn't sure it was a bunny, he'd never seen one like her.
