Best advice ask any Filipono Vintage Hat Collector they know how to DIY and make their own cap moulder. They also use Faultles Spray to hold and harden the Caps to Crisp!

I didn’t think about investing time in researching a good steamer. They are not all the same and should of got a better one. Chris inspired me about hats that I’ve been in the hunt for them and learning how to shape and restore them. Great video guys!

Great vid Kevin. on one pick I bought a larger vertical steamer, an upright one, new in the box. When I got home my wife really liked it and she kept it, She now steams nearly all of her own clothes rather than pressing and when we buy clothes from a pick we use it on them, its really really good. Not expensive to buy new so I would 100% recommended you get one for the cabin.

I have always used my air compressor to blow off all the dust and deep dust off my hats... 135psi is a great cleaner.. the steamer is a GREAT idea... Thanks!!

I have a box full of hats in my dead pile that I desperately need to deal with, and this video will help a LOT with that! I'd also love to see a follow-up video that focused on how to value hats - some things I know, like made in USA, but some parts of it seem kinda arbitrary to me.

Great tips. I usually throw mine in the washing machine with the hand wash setting and no spin. Take it out wet and let it dry on the mold. Sorry, I just can't deal with those grease rims around the head. Alcohol or not.

I had one of those wooden hat molds or shapers in my bricks and mortar antiques and collectibles store at one time. Now I wish I had not sold it...lol !!!

Great video! Haven’t sold any hats but I do have some I might sell now! I’ve got an old Steelers hat I wore when I played softball 3 nights a week for a couple years, it’s bad, wonder if it can be brought back! Have to try now!! Thanks for the video!

I found that equal amounts of baking soda and white vinegar, mixed to a paste, will clean almost everything! For thinner consistency, use one part baking soda and 2 parts vinegar. Use the consistency that works on whatever youre cleaning. Hats need a pasty mix and need to dry after cleaning, then vacuum off the residue and reshape. Removes spots on clothing, hats, carpets, upholstry, all large and small appliances, silverware, sink drains, shower mold, grout. (mix and soak cloth in mixture, then clean the appliance by going over the entire area, let sit and rinse with clear water and soft cloth.( but do not use on marble or granite) etc.Never combine vinegar and bleach...it will release toxic gas.) Alcohol is a great stain treatment on certain fabrics.
