The fact that I no longer have to stare at the two spots inside the oven glass that have been driving me crazy for years is frankly life changing. Yes I’m so old that clean oven glass is a joy 😂
Kudos to you for showing us just how easy it is to make mistakes. It takes a humble person to demonstrate AND upload embarrassing moments. We are ALL fools at one time or another, and I'm so glad you showed us we are NOT alone in this regard. Nice job. I'm going to clean my glass door this minute! God Bless, and... Jesus is on His Way! (No ovens to clean in Paradise! Amen to that -thank God.)
Thank you so much for this video! I have hated those streaks in my oven for years and had no idea you could even clean between the glass! 🤯 This is life changing! 😅😂
I think the third pane of glass is to retain oven heat. A lot of cooking heat is exposed through the view pane and this third glass pane reduces loss and prevents you from getting burned immediately if you touch the oven. If there were only two panes, the exterior pane would be too hot to touch during cooking.
I am so excited and have been waiting forever for the day you’d start a RU-vid Channel! Congratulations 🎉 thank you for all your advice and motivation🖤
That is the exact same struggle I had when I tried putting my door back together, I had to take a break and leave it overnight to put it back together! 😂
Super helpful! Thank you so much! I have been looking at drips I did not know how to get to literally for years. BTW that third pane is to keep the heat in. Without it the outside glass could get dangerously hot.
I followed your instructions and was able to get rid of those drips that have been bugging me for years, thanks again. But I had to tell you, once I got mine apart, it has FOUR panes of glass!
I've been dreading doing this chore because I was hesitant to take the door apart, afraid I might do more harm than good. And I'm extremely handy with tools ! You made it look so easy and have inspired me to finally get to it. Bosch oven/stove with the same dark running grease stains between the glass. Thank you for posting this ! 🕊️🙏🏻🥰
Update : It's finally done and I couldn't be happier with how easy it was and how clean it turned out. No more opening up the door and letting the heat out to see if my frozen pizza is ready. 😎
I have been following you on Instagram for a while now and have your cleaning handbook. I'm so glad you've started making RU-vid videos! You have made my day!
I’m gonna wait for a day when I feel extra patient for this. Our oven is from our home’s previous owners - probably 20 years old. I don’t think they ever cleaned it. I’ve been putting off cleaning it and hoping it just breaks so we can replace it. But…this video is a sign. It’s time. 😅
sarah oh my god i broke my oven door last year after the fall cleaning challenge trying to get into that glass. to this day i have not been able to put it back LOL i dont know how i did it but the whole door came apart and i couldnt ensemble it again. its so funny that you covered this and also struggled while putting it back, but im so glad you figured it out and didnt break it! I will give mine another go just as soon as im mentally prepared lol. i literally went through blood, sweat and tears last time!
🇨🇦🤣🤣🤣Blood, sweat and tears?!?! Too funny!! I’m laughing but I’m back of my mind I know it had to be done!! Why couldn’t the manufacturers just seal the glass area?!? That would’ve save us from going crazy alway looking at the greasy door!
@@pearllast8249exactly! I look at things differently now since I am the one doing the cleaning. Like, why are the bases of toilets so intricate? Smooth sides all the way to the floor please. I always say the designers of so many things never clean them and that’s why we end up with this kind of ridiculousness.
I loved this video! So funny to see that you struggle like the rest of us! More proof that ovens are designed by people who don't actually use them! LOL! Thanks!
OMG thank you! My husband and I took on this task today and I wish I had taken before and after pictures! Such a difference - the mess has been there since we moved in.
Thank you for your videos! It prompted me to examine my stove closer and I discovered there are holes at the bottom of my door that allow me to access the cob web looking mess in between the glass! I never knew the holes were there for access in between the glass. I was able to get a cleaning brush in there to pull the lint out. Next project is removing the glass so I can properly clean the madness!!
I finally tackled this!! I have a cat and between my glass was filled with dust and fur. It always grossed me out but figured there was nothing I could do about it. I watched this last year when you posted it but finally worked up the courage to clean it yesterday!! 🎉 It was pretty easy (had a little trouble seating the hinges back in) and it looks amazing. Im a little mad at myself for cleaning the outside right after as I dripped a little back between the glass. But at least the glass is clean and clear! Yay! 😅
Thanks. your video was helpful. the drip streaks were driving me nuts. after i lifted the glass my oven had two metal standoffs for the top 2 screws. one was knocked over when i took the glass off. luckly the other was in place so i realized it was a standoff. I believe the 3rd pane of glass is for thermal reasons. The enclosed air barrier created by the 3rd pane between the hot inside the glass pane on the very outside provides a very good thermal barrier.
OMG...I just found you thru Sorta Awesome (an old episode) and here I am on a Saturday night, happier than anyone should be on a Saturday night....watching videos of how to clean an oven door....did I mention that I was HAPPY??? I cleaned my oven in my new (to us) home....and it looked great, except for that door. Ugh. No one knew what to do. I gave up and just tried not to look at it (drinking a glass of wine while cooking helped.) But, OMG....guess what I will be doing this week??? And do I think that it is a coincidence that your channel launched on my bday....I do not! xoxoxo THANK YOU!!!
This was the most excellent RU-vid cleaning video. All the other Google options told you to stick things like a hanger between the two plates of glass like that was possible well explained and well demonstrated. just a note I wouldn’t call the screwdriver “star” because there are star ones I’d call it a cross, it’s called a Phillips head. Also, based on my own experience, when you take a piece off, line it up in the direction that it goes. You put your sideways which left you the option of putting it in upside down. You also gave us cleaning options. I look forward to your next video.
Big tackle for the first video. I was nervous for you. Putting the door back on I noticed your toes! Held my breathe you didn't drop on your foot. Congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉
The door stops at a slightly open position because that is called the broiling position, and when you broil, the door should be opened slightly to avoid oven damage.
My oven door has insulation around a glass panel, which I don't see in your door. I took it apart and cleaned the glass but I can't remember where the insulation was or how to layer the door back to the original dirty version.
Thank you so much for this video! I hate those streaks in my oven. My oven door doesn't open like yours, but I will try to muster the courage & follow in your footsteps.
That extra piece of glass inside is there for proper ventilation so your door doesn't get too hot. I have a wall oven with a combo microwave and mine has TWO extra pieces of glass inside. One of those extra pieces shattered and broke right in my hand while I was cleaning it. Hubby did some research to see if that other piece of glass was really needed and that's where we found out that it is indeed very much needed.
Congrats Sarah on the first video! Man you picked a doozy and made me a nervous wreck for you. But it was very helpful! Great job! Looking forward to more videos!!
Great video, do you have to remove the door to take the glass out? I would think it might be almost as easy to just open it and leave the door open but attached
Just checked out your video because it feels like time to tackle the glass between my oven windows. Thanks for the refresher, but darling, you are holding an extremely heavy door by the sides in only BARE FEET! You are warning people that the door is heavy and they should be careful, and you are in BARE FEET! Please be sure to protect yourself in subsequent videos. 🥰
I will! I have definitely heard it from a few people...plus my Mother and my COO. Thank you for watching and caring about my toes! It's a good reminder that accidents can and do happen at home.
@@gocleanco I'm sure your mom was all over you about that! We've seen thing go wrong too many times not to be worried for you. Thanks for your wonderful channel and for getting back to me. Much love and hugs for the season. 💖
Have you ever had similar streaks in between the glass on your microwave door? I have them on mine and I can’t for the life of me figure out how they got there in the first place or how to clean them and it’s so frustrating!
You can use Windex in oven near food? Isn't there dangerous chemicals in Windex? I use vinegar with water leaks no steaks crystal clear food safe Other then that question you explained this great
Unfortunately, my oven door isn't removable. It never fails that when you post about cleaning oven door windows, I check. And every time it still isn't removable.😒 Makes me miss the oven at my old apartment that didn't even have a window in the door. 😅
Watch for how the hinges open. I did it today, one of the hinges sprung, into the palm of my hand and cut it open! I ended up in the urgent care with an ugly cut! Please be careful
