Sister...I used to shuck corn with my granny growing up and cut it off the cob for creamed corn...ahhhhh the memories. Funny thing happened...I went on a 21 day consecration that ended today. This is the 1st time since my mom died (3 yrs) and she came to me in my dreams and I showed her the pictures in my phone and caught her up on stuff. I told her I missed all our traditions and that I hate she wasnt here. I even told her how much her granddogter missed her. It ended with her leaning over my shoulder and saying "I know baby." Then my alarm went off and woke me up. Im in such great spirits today and I drove to work thinking about us shucking corn with my granny, shelling peas, picking potatoes and watermelon and going fishing. Then I get to work and your video is on CORN!!! God knows what HE's doing. SO BLESSED to have found you on YT!!! I love you chick!!!
And just think some people have the nerve like ole DON to complain about her video!! I just don't get it she made my life in the kitchen a whole lot easier I know that!!
I just shucked two sacks of corn and came to youtube to find the best way to get rid of the silk. Sure wish I would have watched your video before hand shucking. Great video.
this is awesome! I love corn and we eat all the time in the summer....It just stinks to peel and clean them...I actually starting cutting the corn of the cob and eating it raw in salads and it is even better then cooked. thank you for sharing!
I have turned on many of my friends and family to this method. FYI....I would slide all of them at one time. I found that if you wait and it cools down...it does not slide out easily. Just saying......
Don Frankish .??? I just did it, & it tastes fine, no flavor except the corn, & all the silk was off mine too. Can’t understand what you are talking about, this is a great, easy way to shuck corn. Thanks Honey! Her videos are awesome!
Why people always complaining about things that other people do to try to help people?? I just don't get it man?? do you have nothing better to do?? are you miserable and just want to make everybody else miserable she didn't have to take her time to show us this quick method.I just don't understand you DON something must be wrong with your taste buds cuz it tastes even better to me!! If you can't compliment someone just don't say anything at all rude ass man;
@@pennydahl896 How was I complaining, I was simply stating my opinion, You must be a leftist where I am not allowed to have an opinion, And you will just keep shouting yours no matter what till you get your way. Several of us have tried it and agree it tastes like the leaves, It on makes sense it does your cooking it in them. I live where we have very sweet corn, Non of that adding sugar or milk or whatever I have seen people in the south do. Just boil 3 min. Maybe it is the corn the variety that makes the difference, Again I was not complaining, just trying to prevent others from making there corn taste like lawn clippings, Also again not miserable, Just expressing an opinion. Nothing rude about having an opinion. But you were the rude one, Going right to name-calling twice. Do you honestly think I would go to the trouble of trying this and replying if it was only trying to be rude or miserable? Quit being so miserable yourself and allow your mind to respect others' opinions. Oh, wait I have to complement everything as that's how your type works, Everyone gets a participation trophy. No one gets an opinion Stop being a troll on the internet.
@Fred Teall Our corn is some of the freshest sweetest in the world. Only available about 2 months out of the year. It only makes sense if boil something in anything but water it will taste like what you add to the water, ( Thats how soup works ) You'r adding green leaves, That's what it tastes like, I guess if you like that taste then eat the leaves too. We tried this on two different varieties of corn and they were both much less appealing. Also, our corn is so sweet you don't need these hokie recipes of adding things to make it sweeter.
