Zoe Singer but clean them in bath tub because the soap is so potent and powerful after every scrub session (scrubbing the whole shoe) rinse under cold water hot water will melt the shoe glue
For the leather part , it might be smart to use the soft side of a sponge and cold water. If you use the brush , there is a possibility that you damage the leather or even get scratches. For the cold water, if you use hot water on leather , there is a change it will shrink. Had to learn these things the hard way

Magic sponge eraser to clean the dirt from the midsole. Sometimes it’s just hard to remove that yellow colour with a normal brush. My best friend taught me that trick and I am so thankful haha... it really works🙌🏻
A tip I picked up for keeping soles white is to brush them with a thin layer of "salon 40" I think traditionally it's used as a hair bleach additive, but it removes yellowing from white shoe soles as well. If you clean your shoes once a week it prolly isn't necessary, this is more a trick for restoring shoes found at the thrift store more so than something necessary for shoes maintained like your collection. But since you asked for tips in your comments I figured I'd mention it. If you ever feel like trying it its really straightforward, brush a thin layer of salon 40, wrap the soles in saran wrap, and let them out in the sun or under a UV light until they bleach white, then unwrap them and wash the salon 40 residue off. Note Idk how well this works with painted soles, or non-white soles. I don't color my hair but from what I understand salon 40 is something you mix with hair bleach to make the bleach work better. Knowing this makes me nervous about trying it with soles that have color on them, though friends have alleged that it works fine so long as the sole itself is dyed a color opposed to painted.
Can confirm, this works and it actually works for most white surfaces that aren't shoe related as well. Yellowing outlet/light-switch covers? Paint some hair bleach on that hoe and wrap it, vitamin D that fool and wash it that night and it'll be whiter than your aunt Susan recording a video of you unwrapping presents on Christmas morning
It’s refreshing to see a new generation doing the things we did back in the 80s & 90s via word of mouth in school profiling at lunch. No internet then. I love the technology and this era. I’m still clean 🧽 and learning some new things. Thanks. 🙌🏾
When he said "don't wait more than a week because it'll be harder to clean" i screamed because its been 2 years that I haven't cleaned my shoes that I love
@@kaitlyn-maisaxon7966 first of all, I never said it was too much work as "universally", meaning there are ways to clean it easily and some are way too much work. For example, would you wash ur shoes every hour even if you haven't worn them? Because technically the air carries debris and when it lands on ur shoe, its dirty. would you consider that too much work?
Don't forget to moisturize your leather shoes after cleaning them! Detergent will be abrasive and dry out the leather, that can cause discoloration and cracking down the road. I found that applying a teenie tiny amount of wax also helps them stay clean and protected from the water after washing :)
Great video! I am starting to get more into shoe fashion and I needed a quick and easy way to keep my new shoes clean!! this helps a lot!! thank you!!!

Hey. By mistake I did put foam cleaner on the suede part of the shoe and the stain is not going off. Could you please please please help me how to get it off? PS: This video is very helpful.
I already know how to clean all of these materials but I'm still going watch this!! My favorite shoe cleaners are... Angelus shoe cleaner... Sneaker laundry reshoevner and eb kicks
Do you know how to clean textile material on shoes🤦🏽♀️I have the Nike Air Force 1 Low Script Swoosh and the whole show is literally white but the textile material is yellow and dirty
Anniyah B I don’t think you can take the yellowing away you’d probably have to use salon care 40 and uv lights or whatever but that’s a very unique material and probably couldn’t work I’d do more research on it Have you tried using some sneaker cleaner and a soft bristle brush first? Use a soft brush maybe a soft sponge
Usually with a how-to-clean instructional video, you would start with some funky, dirty shoes. Those shoes were very clean to begin with. You just took a few specs off of them. I think the method is the same though for dirty shoes. But real scuffs, oil spots, street tar and burn streaks permanently mess up the look of the shoes. I'd like to know how to get those out.
Glad you are making this video. Just bought some nice Koio white sneakers thanks to your sneakers videos. They are so great! unfortunately I had some wine spill on them the other night. I need to clean them but dont wanna turn them yellow using the wrong product or ruin the integrity of the sneaker. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for this video I recently found 8 pairs of youth sized jordans and the boxes in a dumpster at some apartments all in very good shape they just need a little once over.
I recently bought some expensive shoes and I was concerned about getting them dirty since they have white soles. This video is perfect and now my shoes look like brand new shoes! No more worrying about getting my shoes dirty when I go to the gym! Thank you sir 🙌👏👏👏👏
If your sneakers are caked in mud (it happens!), lay the sneakers on newspaper next to a radiator and let them dry out. When dry, gently tap the sneakers & the mud will fall off & make it much easier to clean.
I thought my shoes were gone, you helped me bring the to life!!!! **Big tip: use Magic Sponge, or how ever you call that sponge, to clean the shoe sole, it made it way faster and easier, and cleaner!
Thanks for the tips! As a leather restorationist, I would suggest never using detergent on your leather simply because many of those types of cleaners have surfactants in them that strip the needed oils in and on the leather to keep them from getting dry and keep them supple. If it's the only cleaner you have, I'd highly suggest rehydrating your leather with a conditioner afterwards. Hope that helps.
Another recommendation is to use cedar shoe trees to help maintain the shape of your shoes, particularly after you clean them (yes, even your tennis shoes/sneakers). As your shoes naturally dries, the material may shrink or otherwise lose the natural shape. Shoe trees will prevent this reaction. Good cedar trees will also absorb, sweat, salt, and other bacteria that cause odor. I get mine trees for Nordstrom Rack... $15 a pair.
@devanondeck How are you supposed to wash the inside part of the shoes? how do you remove the smell of the inside part? how do you wash the laces? good video but some information missing!
Thank you for this. My shoes are becoming nasty and I always neglected learning to clean them. You kept it nice, simple and short too. You gained a new sub here man and you deserve all the likes.
Cool video .. easy to follow .. well put together .. quality cam recording ... thanks ... I got a white n different cascading shades of blue Nike KG's I'm guessing it's fabric .. u sure about putting it in the washing machine man ?!!!
I like Me Clean magic eraser pads for tough stains on leather. You can also try stain removers that target your specific stain (blood, wine, dirt, grease, etc). Using a mini steamer is another idea as steam can loosen up stubborn stains. Just be careful because the steam can loosen glue.
Awesome video!!! I admit... I am "shocked" I guess is the best word when I see how dirty people's shoes are, including tennis shoes and dress shoes. It is mostly men but women too... some people's shoes are so horrible I would just throw them away... if they came to my house they would have to leave their shoes outside!!!
Bro I love your style and energy. This was very helpful! I am always intimidated by mixed material sneaks because I was unsure how to keep them clean, so thank you for the boost in confidence! I hope you're having a safe and blessed New Year.
found this trick by accident. I had a pair of white vinyl shoes they looked old. went for a walk in water at the beach and the salt water made them come up like new again
For raw leather I use usually a Gummibrush because the dirt gets off easier and you don't need the washing (of course you can help with a lil bit of water after the cleaning to refresh the colour)
Hi Devon, you have some very nice sneakers, dude but I think just in case you get caught out in the rain and you're wearing one of those pairs that aren't waterproof, it would be a great time to do that. I'm a retired Marine and when not wearing my battle boots which are waterproof, I like wearing my high top sneakers but they aren't waterproof. My former DI, Sgt, "Squinty" showed me how to waterproof my fabric and suede sneakers so I don't get caught with wet feet. After making sure sneaks are clean, get come candles, tea candles are good because they are soft enough to move thoroughly. After covering the whole sneaker, take a hair dryer on medium heat, not too hot, and move it across the sneakers to melt the wax into the shoe fabric. The shoe will look a little dark but that will go away once the wax melts if you have light sneakers. This has worked wonders over the years and you can use this on anything, besides a tent, that you want to waterproof, even small and medium backpacks!
