Exploring new terrain in your truck, Jeep or ATV off-road is fun and exciting but the aftermath can be overwhelming. Driving through rough trails, mud fields and puddles will leave paint, glass and undercarriage caked with dried earth which can be difficult to safely and thoroughly remove.
Tough Mudder does the heavy lifting to loosen and assist abrasive particles in gliding off the surface without introducing swirls or scratches. Pairing this high foaming suds with the TORQ Big Mouth Foam Cannon to cover this Silverado with a thick layer of foam.
Hector and Nick walk through the steps and products necessary to tackle this detail. Beginning with a full wheel and wheel well detail, restoring a like new finish. Moving to the body, rinsing with filtered water softens and loosens the blanket of filth but to penetrate and absorb the layer of dirt we use Tough Mudder which easily cuts through anything you can pick up on an adventure.
Let your truck, Jeep or ATV shine with the help of Tough Mudder!!

Not trying to be rude but puddles definitely don't cake mud on like that. I live up in Montana where it's mainly dirt roads. We get snow and rain basically all year. Maybe 2 dry months. The stance on my ram sticks out about a half inch or so from the fenders and I drive pretty aggressive. I rarely have mud caked on like that. They definitely played around in some mud. Rims have a decent - offset so that keeps them fairly cleaner than the body.

I’m glad you guys used a SunJoe electric pressure washer. Most think you need gas to make a lot of foam which isn’t true. Do you guys ever swap out orifices on your cannons? Or better question what size do they come with ? Great video! Chem Guys make the best car soaps!!

This is one of the few videos that actually shows them putting soap on the vehicle when its muddy. This is the correct way to wash off mud. Soap breaks up the mud and provides a lube to protect your paint from being scratched. Almost every other video shows them blasting the mud off with a pressure washer first and then soaping it afterwards and that's the wrong way to do it!

I know it's more of a commercial for their products but how much would it cost to buy everything they used in the video? Would it not be cheaper to just buy a few passes to a full service car wash? (In Canada we have places that hand wash your car inside and out for about $30)
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 лет назад
Hey Bryson, thanks for stopping by. Sure a one time car wash might be cheaper at first, but the whole point of purchasing is the product will last you and last you. Check out the 14 piece detailing kit below. At only $89.99, it only takes 3 washes for the kit to pay for itself, and the chemicals will be no where near empty. The kit has pretty much everything you need to clean, wax, and dress your car. You may want to add an odd brush or chemical down the line, but the vast majority of the items you will need are included to get started detailing right away. This kit doesn't even require an expensive pressure washer- you just hook the TORQ foam blaster up to your standard garden hose! Thanks for watching, Bryson, and let us know if you have any other questions!

Only thing I would’ve done differently was start with the body first, wheels and tires last
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 лет назад
Hi! There are a few reason why you want to clean the wheels first, a few which I will highlight now. If you wash the body of the car first, then you risk getting dirty water/product onto your newly clean car paint. Wheel cleaners and tire cleaners often use harsher chemicals so doing the body first minimizes the chance of getting overspray or spent product on the paint. If you washed the body first, you would need to dry the body before moving onto the wheels and tires to prevent water spots. It's extremely hard if not impossible to not get the body wet again when washing and rinsing the wheels and tires after drying, so you end up washing and then drying the whole bottom part of your car again! You can dress your wheels and tires after the whole car is clean. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for new video uploads!

Hi, great question. Our pressure washer is a gas operated unit with a PSI of 2800, and a GPM of 2.3, so we recommend something similar. Choose a tried and true brand with a warranty for security and peace of mind! Thanks for watching and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!

What happened to the gas pressure washer?

Hi Manh, good question. We often get asked about electric pressure washes and how much foam you can get out of them. We decided to use an electric pressure washer in our latest videos to show you guys that no matter if you have a gas or electric pressure washer, with a TORQ foam cannon, you can get amazing thick clingy foam either way! Thanks for watching, Manh, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!

There are so many different models on the market but I recommend using a pressure washer that is capable of 1800-3500 PSI and between 1.5 - 2.0 GPM.

Washing in direct sunlight? That is a no no, It will create water spot. What is the tank at 7:12?.
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 лет назад
Hi there, we appreciate your concern for this customer's car, but would like to impart a few reasons why it was safe for us to wash this car in direct sunlight: 1. We use deionized water. 2. This soap, like most premium CG soaps, is pH balanced. 3. The climate was temperate. 4. The paint was cool to the touch. 5. It's California, so why wouldn't you want to be outside? 😊 We have detailed thousands of cars over many years under the conditions above, all to the utmost satisfaction of our customers. If you ever have any questions, or are new to detailing, we encourage you to contact us for advice. We can be reached via telephone, email, or even facebook messenger and are here to help.

i’m not a pro or anything but wouldn’t u wanna clean wheels last???
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 5 лет назад
Hi Trent! In most cases, the wheels are dirtier than the vehicle so if they are left for last the abrasive filth from the wheel can be transferred to the body which would need to be wiped away carefully to prevent damage. Cleaning them first reduces this risk. - Happy detailing!!

Hey guys any recommendations for removing tree sap? I’m out in Oregon and I’ve got a pine tree over my driveway, with the recent heat wave it has completely coated my truck with sap. I’ve used your V07-Blacklight- honeydew snow foam and I’m still left with some residue.

Why you clean the truck directly under sunlight ?
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 лет назад
Hi Mohammad, good question. Washing a large truck like this in the shade isn't always possible, especially in Southern California, that's why we developed Tough Mudder to be pH balanced and safe to use in direct sunlight! We do recommend performing all the subsequent, more advanced detailing steps indoors, though. As always, if possible, wash in the shade too! Thanks for watching, Mohammad, and thanks for being a part of the Chemical Guys family!

There are some real dumb shits out there that use the brush at the car wash. Rims, then body. Blows my mind. Common sence is not common for everyone lol. Being a car guy, its hard to watch but hard to ignore.
@HSGTF
@HSGTF 6 лет назад
Ok but I don’t understand why you cleaned the wheels first... unless you went back and dressed them. All the mud just falls right down on them. Maybe i missed something
@ChemicalGuys
@ChemicalGuys 6 лет назад
Hi! Good question. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for new video uploads!

Try it both ways for your next couple of car washes and let us know which one you prefer. In all our experience, we found this way to be best! Keep in mind we also don't apply wheel waxes or dressings until after the WHOLE vehicle is washed and clean. Thanks for watching buddy and happy detailing!
