How to clean & recharge TRD Performance Air Filter 

AFE power is the company that makes the TRD air filters for TRD so if you want to keep it looking the way it originally came buy the AFE filter cleaning kit (part # 90-50000). It comes with the gold colored oil just like the TRD filter originally came with. That will keep the filter in its original appearance. Also, if you put the filter in front of a fan after cleaning it that will speed up the dry time. It’s a good idea to buy (2) of the TRD filters so you can swap the dirty one with a clean one and have no down time. Then you can take your time cleaning the dirty air filter and have it ready to go when it’s time to change it.

After the cleaning before the oil, how long did you let the filter dry? Or at all??

The instructions specifically state RINSE ONLY REVERSE AIR FLOW DIRECTION, so dirt on the outside doesn’t get pushed into the engine intake side Also When applying the oil I believe it recommends 5" not 3' away Not criticizing just helping to get the right information out there

Awesome! Loved the pepper intro as well. Can you explain why they use the term “recharge” instead of cleaning? I want to do this today for my TRD filter buuuuut I feel weird about spraying an air filter with oil 🤔 and inhaling that after? 🤔

Can I wash the filter with a pressure sprayer from the self-serve car wash? But briefly.

Listen when dirt gets pushed in with force of the water; will cause more dirt to open the fibers of the filters...

no you apply the cleaner then clean let air dry then use oil and let sit for a little

I think people are just too lazy to clean and recharge these TRD filters, so they buy a new one every time instead. That's $60 a pop. I recharge my filter every 10k miles

Its been a year now, can you please do another video to show how the recharged filter is doing? Especially this time, can you please try to inspect the inside of the tube that goes into the intake to see if there is any dust in there? That inspection will add value to see how clean of the air the engine gets.
