In this amazing new episode we are breaking all the myths related to the bus bars connecting lugs. this is a master class level lesson so please support the channel. #hybrid #toyotaaqua #prius #trainingday #priusc #mechanical #mechanic
This lesson was perfect timing for my Nexcell project. My son and I had those bus bars looking like the James Webb mirrors..Haha!! Fantastic information and indispensable knowledge for this project. My gratitude to the master, Jose , the Great!
In Canada Dealers will not sell you bus bars or anything associated with High volt battery except the shield nuts and bolts and the harness except bus bars.
First I wanna thank you again for all the master classes! I charged & discharged all 28 modules on my Prius battery pack. 10 modules low numbers never made it to 5000mah. I’m now using my fancy balancer designed by you and all my modules are reading at 7.67. I was wondering if there is any harm in doing your 12V 10 second power surge technique at this point? Gracias hijo 👊🏽
You're doing everything right, Jose. But the problem is that there are lazy or stupid people sitting in our garages. Who will never bother as much in their lives as you do. These workers don't even know half of your knowledge. And you are the only one with us. Now I personally come to the conclusion that most likely my next car will have a regular atmospheric one -), if only it were possible to clone you...
Hello good morning from Mauritius I am getting an issue with my Toyota Axio hybrid it said Brake system check on the dashboard with master alarm on am not getting start engine. I did a diagnostic with torque pro am getting code pob3d.What can be the issue?
Hello, very useful information. I have a question: after cleaning the plates and nuts, with what torque should I tighten the nuts? And the second question is, with what torque do I need to tighten the "frame" housing that holds the entire battery tightly? Thank you
Got a really important question for you, I live in Arizona and the temperature here gets 115+ so that makes it 200+ inside my 2012 Prius, so they say heat kills the module, so explain what we do about that LoL, but want u to know I really like your video's the way u explain I can understand u keep it up bro...
I used CLR and 90% of the rust or buildup from the copper connectors were gone - the nuts too, but are still dirty a bit - I am gonna use another cleaner before I reinstall everything
Have you heard of Humiseal? This is used on aircraft electrical connections where possible corrosion can start. It is removable if needed and will stop bus bar corrosion and not interfere with conductivity.
Hello "Sir Master Jose The Great" it is i a humble follower, please parden me for my indrudence again again an ya again haha but on watching this I suddenly realised something with the battery acid to vinegar each time i see this within, is have you ever thought of getting two beetroot containers ? As they have a carrier inside with a handle.. so you could place busbars on the carrier then place in A container " battery acid" to B vinegar container without touching the busbars an with this the acid will also eat the corrosion throughout on the underside correctly 101 physics there found at your local super market / shop or when the wife isn't looking in the kitchen cabinet just don't get caught otherwise you'll end up single like me. an only have the super market for your daily cooking haha.
Since resistance to current flow is determined by cross sectional area please comment on how the reduced cross sectional area of copper bus bars compares to nickel coated copper bus bars. After sulfuric acid and sanding I am sure cross sectional area is reduced.
You don't have to sand paper the lug to make it thiner... it is just to remove the carbon from surface so the IR remains the very same and no problems at all 👋😎👋😎
Question: What about using a wire wheel brush to clean up the bus bars with? Would that also be 100% effective at getting them clean with minimal effort?
Question about the nuts: Prior to watching this video, unfortunately I had already soaked the nuts in Vinegar for 4 hours and they turned black. Can I still use them on the bus bar so long as the copper bars are like a mirror? Or did the vinegar dissolve something important off the nuts and now are un-usable? Just wanna know if I can still use them?
Hi, question so if i had already made the mistake of used a bench grinder steel brush on them, should i 😢 throw them away 😢 i being doing this , thinking was the best way... Oh man...
Since the car is not operating I walked to Lowes to get something similar. I used a sulfuric acid gel drain cleaner that worked great! Then used 2000 grit as suggested by the master! Of course, cleaned everything very well too afterwards.
Is it pure sulfuric acid or is it diluted? I found that battery acid is diluted. 30 - 50 % sulfuric acid in 50-70 % distilled water. Just in case of damaging the copper busbars. Thanks.
So if the corrosion is caused by electrolytes leaking out of the cell, due to heat and expansion, like you say, why does the corrosion only happen on the negative terminals?? If the acid/electrolytes are being forced out due to their constriction, it only makes sense that they would go wherever they please, not just collect on negative terminals and avoid the positives. Any explanation for this?
