While I've never cared for his "reverse graduation" technique on mustaches (it thins the mustache out too much, in my opinion), this dude actually knows how to trim a beard, which is a nice change of pace from the butchers we've seen on here lately. This is a welcome return to the content quality level that got me interested in these barbershop videos in the first place.

He did a very good job. I wish we had in my city or even country barbers like him. I can't believe how hard is to find barbers who understands all different types of beards and how to trim or shape them. I like that you're showing new barbershops and consequently more techniques. @Beardbrand nah man, people think I'm weird for even asking for a trim. Have been trying for years and haven't found a single person who could do it better than I could myself. Also I'll be lucky if they spend even a quarter of the time Jay spent on this guy.

Barbers take note of this barber. When someone comes in for a beard shape or trim make sure to clean the edges and def the back of the head. a quick taper or clean up is a must and will make your clients happy walking out the door. this dude is the first ive seen that did it unless i come across more but please take notes. this is very important. we know yall make 20 bucks for beard trim in which you can easily clean the edges and back of the neck. dont be greedy or lazy and do good for yourself and clients.

Nice. Suggestion much more of straighter line up, drop the beard line line up the side burns and trim the excessive hairs keep the bulkiness

How do you trim the philtrum area with a comb and trimmer to match up the rest of the beard to a number 3 guard length? Do you use a certain comb? And what's the exact process of holding the comb and the motion when trimming it?

What about a long beard. I had a 10 inch beard, asked for a small trim to clean the split ends. Walked out with a 4 inch beard and 2 hours of self fixing. Never have I been so dissapointed.

In a case like this (which actually happens a lot, you're not alone in this), I'd say that communication with your barber is key. Make sure that you let them know that you do NOT want to lose any length and that you're only in for a maintenance trim. - Jack
