@@murkyturkey5238 not necessarily. I was doing routine inspections last week on a few commercial units, turned off the service disconnect to check caps like normal and got hit with 120v. That's a case to case basis. Lots of carrier brands have a black coating which is best to use less chemical cleaners. Have that being said just rinse from either inside or out because 410a is high pressure and your system will only last max and I mean max 15 years.

I recommend using the max pressure setting on the hose. The pressure of the hose shouldn't be enough to damage the aluminum fins. Just don't use a pressure washer. Yes, you should clean from the inside out, but also clean from the outside down. Coil cleaner isn't nessessary, water alone will clean them as new if you take your time.

Let’s keep in mind that there is no single plug to remove that condenser fan motor also if you put the screws back in the wrong places you could puncture the coil! Not to mention all coil cleaners are not created equal and placing it on an aluminum coil microchannel coil but seriously corrode and cause leaks to your coil. Let us not forget there is still 24 V coming from the air handler to the contactor if not turned off inside! If you don’t know what you’re doing pay someone to do it properly! Or pay twice as much when you’re having it repaired
@kimberHD45
@kimberHD45 Год назад
Nice try, but not quite. Yes, disconnect power first. But you need to understand the type of coil you have and if it has a coating and if the coil cleaner is compatible. Then you need to wet the coil first and apply coil cleaner inside and outside and let it set a couple of minutes. Then you spray it down inside and outside at about a 45 degree angle on the highest pressure nozzle setting without deforming coil fins.

lol. She did not remove the controls panel to disconnect that harness she mentioned. She did not separate fin packs to cleanse between coils. There is still a ton of debris on top of coil loop. She did not cleanse outer coil where majority of debris is and the impaction actually restricts the air flow and hence the reasoning to clean coil. And also, she did not verify line voltage not present using a meter. God forbid that fan blade hits 1075 RPM when shroud is off and body parts are inside the condenser cavity. Oops!! Please people, call a professional. Some very simple sounding things have adverse reactions. TY

HORRIBLE job!!!!! Not only did you put the cleaner on the wrong surface, but the final assembly shows just how much crap was left. There is also the need to split that coil set up. Nice waste of time, but you did nothing to improve that system's operation.

99% of units do not have a “harness” and need to be removed via individual wires. Installing them wrong will be a BAD thing. I can see it now the service calls coming for sheered off wiring, mis-wired units, broken spade connectors, tripped high pressure switches and fans running backwards.. save a few bucks and spend hundreds in repairs

How many people got shocked by the capacitor by trying this diy?

Never EVER try to do this yourself. Call a good air conditioning company and have the technician do this.

So why should you never ever try this yourself? Why would you have a guy possibly charge it $200 $300 to come and do that. Just because you don't want to doesn't mean somebody else shouldn't.
@danielventura8073
@danielventura8073 2 года назад
@@jonsears6892 Because it's dangerous and you could hurt yourself and do damage to the unit. I've seen it happen and I leave my central air to the professionals period.

@@danielventura8073 everything she did in the video is what a professional would do if somebody decides to go open another panel and touch the capacitor that's their own problem. The only thing that runs up top there should be 12 volt to the fan I'm really not much on the inside that you can get hurt by you can get cut on the aluminum but if somebody goes to stick in their hands and dark holes yeah you're going to get hurt. But telling people never ever do this isn't right. I wouldn't know how would you put a carpet in until I tried it I didn't know how to rebuild an engine until I tried it rewired my friends entire house didn't know how to do that until I tried it should I let those up to the professionals?
