How To Clean Your Bearings Like A Pro
In this video I show you the method I use to keep my bearings running smooth and fast for many years! Regular maintenance is key for keeping bearings in top condition ensuring optimal performance on track and road. My longest lasting set of bearings is in use since 2009 and still spins phenomenal. I found my bearings lasting way longer when using an ultra sonic bath and staying away from gasoline or white spirits for cleaning. Another benefit is that it's more environmentally friendly and doesn't cause bad smell or skin irritations.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
If you are curious about my bearings I've got a 15% discount for you if you use this link: tinyurl.com/2qstn5tm
Simple Ultra Sonic Bath I can recommend:

WD-40 only treats the surface, but does not lubricate it. The WD40 gets to the surface, displaces water and creates a thin oil film. After processing the surface with a mesh, the surface needs to be lubricated - the liquid has the property of evaporating. When it is necessary to tear off a stuck nut; to protect from moisture or preserve metal mechanisms and surfaces; to clean and disconnect rusty parts; to release jammed mechanisms - these are the areas of application of the WD40. So if u use WD40 for your bearings - its not good. Less life cylce.

Whoaa these bearings spin super smooth and fast!! I currently use the wicked freespin Abec 9 with my 4x110 matter wheel setup. But I think they don’t run as smooth as yours! I also tried spinning with different spacer sizes.😅

I clean my bearings the same way as you, except for two things : I use a plastic basket and I put more water because metal on metal and not enough water can damage the ultrasonic cleaner. Dish cleaning soap and hot watter is also the best cleaning agent I found after many many tests.

@@FelixRijhnen1 I tried many thing and when I tried putting less water as it was supposed to enhance the cleaning effect after a few times my cleaner broke. Then I found people who use ulrasonic cleaners on a daily base who told that we were supposed to pu watter until the mark because it can damange the cleaner to not put enough water so now I fill it. It's better to do a longer cleaning or many short ones if the bearing are too dirty. The cheap clieaners are perfect for us because they are smaller and we can pour hot water ourselves

Hello Felix, Great video and actually after watching this video I ordered a set of bearings as shown in the video. In real the just received bearings are not running as smoothly as yours. Do you have a tip to get them running like shown in the video? I already added a drop of "real" bearing oil but still not as smooth as in the video. Thanks.

@FelixRijhnen1
@FelixRijhnen1 Год назад
Ich würde immer eine Seite öffnen. Du bekommst sonst das Fett nicht raus und die Gefahr, dass Feuchtigkeit im Lager bleibt ist auch ziemlich hoch.
@jerryandersson1540
@jerryandersson1540 Год назад
If you have a small compressor available, a good method is to use an air nozzle to blow on the wheels to make them rotate very quickly after cleaning and oiling the bearings. You will immediately notice if any of the bearings are not okay, and I have noticed that the wheels actually roll better. (The german part by Chat GPT)

@carlosmiret35
@carlosmiret35 5 месяцев назад

No, Felix, nooooo! Avoid to use WD40, it is not lubricant, it's detergent! There are plenty of good oils, make a favor for your bearings.
