So appreciate you taking the time to share this with everyone. You’d think the company itself would have an in-depth video like this but it’s great when people can band together and share useful information to help each other out. Thanks!
Hi there! Thank you for this great video! Even though it is a few years old now it showed me how to clean my Bissell pet vacuum here in the U.S.! Kudos to you!!
After reading through more comments I realize I must have a different model because clearly I’m not the only one with this problem! Thanks so much for a great video.
I am so glad I found your video! My pup had such bad “issues” last week, I was about to throw my machine out. Your video is amazing, and just what I need to get my machine clean again!!!
Thanks so much. This was so helpful. I have been looking for something like this since I bought mine. One problem I have is that the translucent cover/cap does not want to come off the brush head. I am hesitant to push it too hard for fear of breaking it.
Very helpful. I have an older machine, took off the nozzle and the O ring washer was brittle and broke. I hope I can get a replacement. At least I can get the rest of the machine cleaned. Thanks.
I just cleaned my disgusting machine with your method, and it now looks awesome!! I decided to just order a new brush head from amazon. It was only around $7, and it was the wider black head, which fit perfectly. I don’t know what I would do without my little green machine! Thanks for making it a less gross experience.
Of course I need more practice. I dumped dirty water on my wooden kitchen floor not once, but TWICE! Don’t try carrying the dirty water tank across the room to empty it!! Maybe one day I’ll learn...
Your instructional video is excellent! I found the amount of details explained, showing each step to successfully clean this Bissell little green spot cleaning machine is the one to watch, it was perfect! Thank you for providing your help and expertise in how to clean out my machine. Instructional video on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 = top) 10 out of 10.😊🎉Cheers
I'm also appreciative of your thorough video tutorial. I borrowed this machine from my neighbor and Id like to return it to her, spotless! Thanks so much!
wow, thank you so much for this tutorial. i sincerely appreciate it. mine is the little heat green and now i know how to properly care for my little machine. i love my carpets clean, sanitized and with a nice fragrance. today i fell in love with my little green and certainly is my new love ..
This was great, thanks...I wish the clear plastic part came off on my machine's vacuum head, it's driving me nuts😅but your video helped w everything else. God Bless you all 🙏🏼💖
I am so jealous that you have a removable nozzle! Mine has a problem area on the side that water can't even get to, water just goes around it on the inside and dirt/debri is just stuck there.😫😠
Great video. I borrowed one and the clear plastic cap does not appear to come off to clean the head on this one. It is not mine, maybe an older version. I don't want to break it. This was very helpful in me returning it clean. Thank you. From USA
Thank you for this! Got a new dog who kept having accidents and my machine was smelling FOUL even after washing the dirty tank. Now with this process I'll hopefully be able to keep my machine running like new and be fresh!
Thank you so much for this video! I was about to throw mine out bc I tried everything suggested on the Bissell website and I still had very little suction. I had to do the first suction cleaning part about 30 times before the water came out clean, with no dog hair. Thank you!
Thanks for this. Mine is filthy from using it in the car and the odd coffee spill on the carpet. I have the non removal clear panel on the head so slightly more difficult. Cheers Jim, Somerset, UK.
I found something that works to clean out gunk that you can't reach out of the reservoir. Add about a cup of dry rice and some hot water. Cover both ends and shake!! It takes a couple rinses to get the rice out, but it works!!!
Such a good suggestion. I did it with lentils and it cleaned out 90% of it, I'm bleaching it to loosen up the rest of the caked on gunk. Machine is still alive and well lol
Thank you so much for this, I got an older version of this from a friend who had it stuck in the garage and the nozzle is filthy/soiled, I figure I could let it soak in bleach to kill the bacteria and then wash it properly before I get to use it. Well, the dish tablet is much better and easier. Love the detail cleaning you do to keep up with the machine. Ty!!
Thank you so much!! Mine got returned clogged full of mud and hair. I didn’t even know it was dirty when it got put away. Went to use it and it nothing would budge 😑. Good as new now!
I use my bissell little green machine every weekend because I do upholstery cleaning with it and I've only had the bissell for about 6 months and it smells bad. I'm going to try to clean it like you showed. Thanks so much for sharing :)
I chated with a Bissell rep to tell him how unhappy I was that I can't clean under the plastic cover on the brush. He is sending me a replacement that I can clean free of charge!
@@doesnotFempute i thought i was the only one. The corners of mine have clogged up a bit. I used an air compressor and managed to free some bits but you really do need some sort of special tool or a new head to make it work. I can tell the suction is lacking now because of it
@@stustockwell yes it's poorly designed. Now I know why mine was $50 at Ollie's. I always suck up a bucket of warm water after every use, to flush it as much as possible. But there's a line of gunk and hair on each side of the clear part of the brush and it haunts me 😩😩
@@doesnotFempute try taking it off I mean disconnecting the nozzle from the hose and run either a garden house, a sink nozzle or high powered shower head turned on hard spray and run hot water through it and most of that side gunk will be gone I cleared 95% but one small spot on mine that way
They made an attachment where you can just pull the trigger once the attachment is on and it does the same thing! (I’m referring to the sucking up the sink water!) The attachment came with mine when I bought it. :o
Thanks so much for this! I use mine constantly because I have a toddler boy and I try to clean my machine but it's starting to smell. I didn't realize the clear piece came off the brush! Thanks again!
This was so helpful! I have referred to it a couple times now over the past year. (Shows you how often I clean it… oops. :( It looks like your plastic cover on the brush head is removable, but I do n’t think mine is. I must have an older model. Still, thank you for taking the time to post this helpful vid!
I haven't cleaned mine as I wasn't sure how to but NOW I can't wait to clean it! Probably going to do it outside in a tub with hot water as my sink is a bit small.
Perfection! Now, I have the Bissel 20037, and I always rinse out the tank, but cannot wait to start soaking it in dishwasher soap - mine might take overnight, but I don’t want to dry rot the flap or plug that’s attached to the tank. Why they don’t provide us with a brush to get all up in there is a mystery.
Thank you for this!! I bought mine brand new to clean pup poo from rug but then needed it to clean a chair......This helps soooo much!!! Just subscribed! :)
Many thanks...we needed your video....got the original black one, still works great, have 2 sussex cockers, so it gets used lots, we even stick in the back of the car for holidays, incase accident in hotel 😮😮
Your video was great. I have one problem, though. The clear plastic cover on the brush does not come off my machine, no matter what I do. Perhaps I have a different model? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
This was amazing. I didn’t know that cap comes off the top of the spray head. You would not believe the build up under there 🤮 I can give mine a thorough cleaning now!!
To bad the new ones don't come with the motorized brush. That was a great add on. It would get that grim out of everything. One spot I cleaned at my friends house the water turner dark brown and got thick. Yikes, I haf to go over it five times but Dam it got it so clean.
What a nice pretty dark color green and how nice and easy your scrubbing brush nozzle comes apart for cleaning. Obviously, your machine was NOT manufactured in America. Because the rest of us Yankees have the lime green machine and we can't clean out our nozzles. Well, my machine lasted 23 years and technically it still works, but last weekend, the metal center ground on the 3-prong plug broke off, and being that the machine is around water and electricity all the time, I prefer to have that extra protection of a 3-prong plug. Parts are getting hard to find, so I think it's time that I replace mine.
TYSM! I found one of these on the sidewalk left for free and thought it was so cute. It has weird nasty hair in it so I wanna clean out the side compartments to get rid of that
Completely off topic, but would you do a quick video showing how you styled your hair in such a cute loose bun, please? It looks like it would be comfortable to wear like that!
Hello! I am wondering if the clear plastic piece should come off of the scrubber brush ??? I just got a little green machine from the thrift store and it definitely needs a deep clean. Thank you for this video, it’s been very helpful :)
Thanks for the video. So informative. I do not have the user guide for my machine any more and did not have a clue how to get the grime out. I use Cascade dishwasher granules so I assume that will work to clean the tank and the brush. But, what do you rinse the tank in to sterilize? I did not catch the product name.
This is exactly what I was searching the comments for! Haha. I feel like maybeee she's saying vinegar? Because she says that same thing at a step in the beginning.
Coming back again for a refresher on how to clean it and I realized I only used hot water on the first part, cleaning out the inside of it. You listed a product to add to the water to sanitize it, but I'm not sure what you said (probably because it's not a US product and it's unfamiliar to me). The transcript says "debt all" but that doesn't seem right either. I'd like to look up the product so I can get some sort of equivalent if possible!
Super helpful thank you!! What’s “Dead All”? I rewound the video a few times and I’m still not sure I got that right. But it’s something you’d normally put in the sink full of water that you didn’t this time.
I’ll tell ya. I probably would not have cleaned it just rinsing the top piece but you make it so simple thanks. Just have one question the vacuum piece that plastic piece on top of the clear piece. How does that come off? All the best Andrew
