Thank you so much! I marked the approx amounts on the bottle for each cleaning and dated them for every 3 months. Then I won’t forget when I did it last.
6:58 - "no flavor of the cleaning solution in the ice". Ok, so you're telling me I need to eat the ice to know if it's clean enough? That's a NO from me, dawg.
😂 just an idea, I usually use coloring to clean my water filter and I think I will do the same for my ice maker. This way I can make sure ALL of the dilution I use is gone for sure.
If you don’t want to wait for the ice to finish I just turned my machine off/on to start the cycle over without waiting for ice but still cycling the water.
I noticed scale build-up behind the scoop at the top too. Is there a way to get at that to scrub it off? Is it a problem I even need to worry about? Thanks.
I was able to get most of it clean with a warm rag and new toothbrush, but the dirtiest part that I am having trouble with is the tub that holds water up to them “fingers”…..
Dirty dining found a rodent 🐀 at the bottom of an ice machine!🤮 If you have ever worked at a fast food restaurant, you know things. Things that keep you from dining out.😬
I use equal parts water with white vinegar. Run through my self cleaning cycle and then drain. Then I take a tiny bit of Dawn Dishwashing liquid and a clean cloth and use warm water and wash inside the ice maker. The. I take my sink sprayer and rinse well. Then I make ice, throw it out and rinse again and then I use it. If I need to,also descale it, I would scrub he ice prongs and behind the space behind them. Hope it helps you.
I believe it would depend on the quality of water you get from the faucet. I use bottled water to play it safe, not just for the taste but to minimize mineral deposits to build up on the machine.
I TOOK OFF THE PUMP .AN SEEN I COULD OF JUST VACUUMED ( WET DRY VAC ) IT HAD SOME STUFF LIKE THE DRYER FILTER HAS.. FUZZ .. AN VERY BRIEF SUCTION WOULD OF FREED IT PROBABLY.. BECUZ OPENING PUMP .. THAT THIN RUBBER INSIDE HAS TO STAY PERFECT..AN NICE ..
I used to white vinegar. It does take a while to to clean rents and then I’ll go through do it again the next day using lemon juice is recommended to use it anyway it is natural and if any residue is left behind while it’s slamming juice is not gonna hurt your body if you ingest it
My Costway/Euhomy unit was working fabulously until I noticed the ice basket area was full of water. Where do I begin to fix? Being a novice I have only turned it off and scooped out the water. I was hoping it needed to thaw.
I need to get some of this solution. In manually trying to clean my unit (vinegar/water), I may have screwed up the mechanical arm in trying reach water cup which appears to be mold (I think). I will be getting a self-cleaning unit soon but until then I need this unit cleaned. Thanks for your great tips!!!
I also screwed up the mechanical arm on my machine trying to clean the white water cup under the metal ice utters. My unit no longer works, and I had to throw it out. I am considering a self cleaning machine, but so far I have not seen any videos on how they work, and the ones I do see, you still have to clean them just like these. its frustrating.
