A professional cleaner said that if you use that much soap on fabric shoes, it will attract more dirt next time you wear them because you can’t get all that soap out of them and it attracts dirt

I bought a new pair of tennies and the first time I wore them over to a friends house a visiting dog ran up with his muddy ball and dropped it on my new shoes! Lol. I love dogs! I kept playing with the pup and got my shoes pretty dirty. He dropped the muddy ball one time in my purse too! Yike, I got that stopped but he was a good boy. Thanks. Gonna go clean them now. . maybe. lol

I haven’t cleaned either my Runner’s or trail shoes. They have just got covered in mud. I did a Park Run the other week and they had some flooding so I had to run through 3-4” of water it was about 15 feet long. They are much cleaner now

Aloha & Mahalo! I have a pretty pair of Nikes I'm afraid to put in the washer! I've been using bath soap (Safeguard) to get stains out, of clothing, but I never thought of it for shoes! I also use "Zote" (laundry bar soap pink color only $2 at Walmart, & Fels Naptha laundry bar soap).😊

Hi there! I really thank you for sharing this video! The bar of soap had not occurred to me to use, that sounds perfect! I also never thought to put newspaper inside the shoe to help it dry out! Very cool! Have you had any success using the toothbrush and some mild liquid laundry soap on the uppers? Tbh for years I didnt invest much effort or money into shoes, until recently I bought a couple of nice adidas run/walk type shoes, and just this morning I used toothbrush and liquid tide on my uppers and let it sit. (I spilled a Coke on there, eek) Anyway I'm about to use a damp wash cloth to massage out some of the soap. I'm so glad I found your video because I'm going to be sure to use cold water instead of hot! Ok well thanks again for the video!

I think ypu can try the toothbrush with a mild soap cleaner like Tide. That should be ok!

Shove them in a pillowcase in the washing machine on a 30 wash! Done it this way for years can't beat it for getting a brand new pair trainer's! I used to use a toothbrush and cheap fluoride toothpaste on the white rubber sole that works a treat!

@@WarTitan888 yeah tie them, it doesn't need to be tight just keep them on a 30 wash don't got any higher some Adidas bow like bananas and peel from the soul but only seen that once when my dad done it himself years ago with his it was so funny! It's never ever happened to me though I use a pillowcase and a 30 wash all the time

Ok so I have Jordan 32’s and the top worked decently well, however I need to clean the bottom cause they are literally yellow, like baige, ya got any recommendations to try? So far I’ve tried salon 40 and 50, sole sauce, and baking soda with water, this shit isn’t working man :/

I wash it like. I first pour one jug of water on shoes or more. Then I use soap and clean using the brush . And to wash or to remove the soap I use water of jug and put on shoes like 4 to 5 times. Am I doing anything wrong ??

No. You are not. Don't make them too too wet. They will not last as long

Not many youtube runners shows this part of runners life. I used to clean as teenager 30 years ago a toothbrush to clean my jordans. But now as runner there is still more than dirt. What happens to 😓 sweat and all the smelling bacteria 🦠. Sure everyone runs on different temperatures and efforts but there must be better ways to clean without destroying the shoes. I washed my nike turbo 2 many times in the washer. Todays running shoes do not soak many water and are hard to destroy. You see this many next % cut for looking for the plate videos how well there are build. Don’t fear the washer and use a anti bac sports soap

There are powders you can buy specifically to deodorize sneakers. I honestly have never have bad odor in my shoes... but I've heard they work well

I would use anything mild. This is the brand of soap I use for my body. If you use strong detergent (like dishes detergent) you may break the fibers in your shoe.

@@IRunThings honestly, it works pretty well, it takes a LOT of the filth off. I recommend using a larger brush though (it's faster) it's only a bit time consuming but other than that, i can say it works.

I have same pair of shoes in cre color and I wash like u...but the stain near toe area is still there..even in ur shoe..it is visible after cleaning as well I noticed, how to get rid of that

The big toe area is tricky for me because that's usually where I break my running shoes. Had I put more effort there it would have totally come off on camera... after drying them outside under the sun it totally disappeared. Have you tried to dry them outside?

You probably put a lot more miles on yours than I do, so you'll replace them very often :). I have had my two current pairs for 4 months now. Plus I run on a path that gets dirt all over my shoes every day. When I run on asphalt they dont get nearly as dirty.
