I thought I was still sleeping in filth when my pillows didn't get washed every time I washed my sheets (weekly). Even with my current physical difficulty, I get super anxious when it passes 2-3 weeks mark. I even wash my memory foam pillow and just make sure that it is aired out after the gentle dryer cycle. But then again I used to foam wash my sofas and curtains on a monthly basis too. People need to avoid purchasing things that can not be directly washed, specially when they're regularly used. Your video makes me feel a little better. Thank you.

I rotate the pillow every 6 months

My pillows so old it's resembles a tea bag,,, time to replace me thinks..

Just put 2 pillows in the washer with detergent. Wash them. Dry 1 at a time until totally dry. I put 1 pillow at a time in the dryer on low or fluff for 30 minutes or more every week just to fluff them up and remove odors. I also always use a zip on/off dust mite impervious cover under the regular pillow case. Wash both the cover and the pillow case weekly or more often so needed.

I put a terry towel on my pillow and it gets always washed with the sheets. It feels and is clean and protects the pillow.😄

I may be spoiled but am glad I ran across this DIY/Video,, Until recently, I had a business that would clean and repackage all our down pillows for a reasonable price. They also sold their own hand-crafted pillows. (Living in Rural MN/WI) I/we miss the old trades and appreciate the DIY to keep Mr.Yuck away

I TRIED YOUR ADVICE IT WORKED...

In most cases, you have to soak your pillow before you wash it. It can't absorb enough water into otherwise. Check the label.

Great tips on washing pillows. If one only has a top loader (fortunately I have an LG top loader with no central spindle - works great), how do you stop the pillows from floating and not getting washed/rinsed thoroughly? Ta. Michael

Tennis ball in a tube socl will keep the microfiber from clumping is something I would never have thought of to keep the load even when it's washing and drying.

I just went to deep clean my bedroom and stood there looking at the yucky pillows! I don't think washing will help these as it's been more than a year that they have been on my bed. So, I'm going to buy new ones and then follow all your great tips!

I found this helpful. I need to get some tennis balls to help with drying the pillows. I could definitely use the gift card you mentioned as I recently started a small business and it has been very challenging to say the least. Either way it’s worth it and I’m NOT giving up!
