CitruSafe - totally useless. Do not believe they will do anything. - Get good old Easy Off. Total BS. I bought this based on review - total B - useless.
@Viewtoagrill
@Viewtoagrill Год назад
Obviously I disagree. But, now that you have throughly cleaned and restored you grill with easy off. Clean the grates with CitruSafe before every grilling session. That is what I do and my grill stays clean.
@rlgeddes
@rlgeddes Год назад
@@Viewtoagrill I went out an bought 5 grill cleaners to clean two dirty Weber BBQ's - and one of them was CitruSafe based on reviews that I read on RU-vid - I don't normally comment on these sites - but I was so disgusted with the complete lack of any results - I had to comment - any review claiming that this product does anything is a total lie. You should be ashamed of yourself to peddling this product.
@Viewtoagrill
@Viewtoagrill Год назад
@@rlgeddes Cabin, I am going to have to say that you did not watch my video completly. In my video I clearly state that CitruSafe did not remove all the material from the grill and that if you wanted to do that you would have to use more drastic measures than just the plastic scrub brush. I'll stand by CiturSafe as a great product and I WILL NOT be ashamed of promoting this product. I'll even pin this comment...
@rlgeddes
@rlgeddes Год назад
@@Viewtoagrill - I apologize if you feel I am attacking your review - that is not my intention here - I do not usually comment on product reviews - but was so disappointed in what I believed I was getting in this product from reading several reviews - I felt I had to say something to counter all the great reviews for CitruSafe - it is a degreaser - but not a BBQ hard baked on BBQ carbon cleaner - in any way shape or form. I have two large Weber BBQ's. They get used a lot - year round. They get a simple cleaning each year - scraping out the collected crud - degreasing the major areas. I do a deep cleaning every two - three years. Take out all the grates, flavorizer bars, heat covers, and and spray wash with 4000 psi hot water sprayer. I take them and place them into two very large heavy duty garbage bags and I pour 1/2 to 1 liter of ammonia into the bag - and zip tie each bag to seal it off from the ammonia escaping. Need to make sure you avoid the ammonia smell. I leave them in the bag for 24 hours +. The ammonia gas will lift 95% of the baked on carbon. I then give them a good high pressure spray wash with hot water - and they are almost new again. I spray the inside of the BBQ with high pressure hot water - lid and grill body to get most of the crud and grease off. I then spray the inside and lid with a good BBQ grill cleaner to break down the baked on carbon. This is where I tried 5 products to see which ones worked the best. I was looking for products that would clean baked on carbon - WITHOUT scrubbing. I also did not want a Degreaser - I get rid of the grease with the hot water pressure washer. Easy Off - Heavy Duty - by far the best. Spray on foam and leave for 30 minutes - then spray off with pressure washer - may have to do 3 to 4 times to get all carbon off - to almost new condition. Zep Oven and Grill Cleaner - spray can - second best - also need to leave for 30 + minutes before you spray off with pressure washer. Third was Goo Gone - was a spray foam - and worked OK - but hand would wear out squeezing trigger. Not quite as effective at breaking down carbon - but third best. 4th was Grillpro Grill Cleaner and Degreaser - this was not as effective - but more of a general degreaser. I could use any cheaper degreaser - if all i was wanting to do but degrease. It would breakdown the carbon - but only a very little at a time. Lastly was the CitruSafe - this product did absolutely nothing to break down the baked on Carbon. I guess that is why I am commenting here is that I have read and seen all these reviews saying this CitruSafe product is amazing and so great - so I drove specifically to find this product and had high hopes - and it did absolutely nothing - but smelled better than the rest. If you want to compare this to a degreaser - fine - it can thin out grease so you can wipe it off with a paper towel or rag - there are lots of cheaper products to do that (simple green, etc). But let me be clear - if you are expecting this to clean off any baked on carbon from your BBQ (interior body, lid, grill grates, flavorizer bars, heat shields, etc) - you will be disappointed - just like I was. I am not trying to attack you our your review - I simply want to make sure others who read reviews clearly understand what this product will do - but more importantly - what it will not do. Your review was not so bad - I wish I could find the review where someone told me this was the best cleaner ever - and I was taken in by the sales pitch - so I went to bought it - I was even going to buy two. Glad I didn't. Watch video by Hawaii Detailing on how to do a deep clean of a Weber Genesis II and you can see how clean you can get a Weber BBQ - without a whole bunch of work.

Oven cleaner is amazing on grates. Spray on, let it sit for 30 minutes or more. Even if it dries, the minute you put water on it it gels up. It gets the grates way cleaner than you would expect with minimal effort. I too use simple green on the outside but it always leaves a haze no matter how many clean cloths I use. I’ve seen some use Windex. I haven’t tried that yet.
@Viewtoagrill
@Viewtoagrill 3 года назад
Hey Carlos. I have not noticed a haze using the simple green. I do use a micro fiber towel to dry off the exterior after I spray it down, have you tried that? Oven cleaner make sense to use.... I'm not sure why I have never tried that. Take care Carlos!
@txfieros
@txfieros 3 года назад
@@Viewtoagrill I usually use a microfiber. I have not tried this but on the grill but mixing in denatured alcohol with the simple green is something I've used on RC cars a long time ago to clean away dirt. It makes it not linger on the surface so long and seems to leave things more squeaky clean.

@Viewtoagrill
@Viewtoagrill 2 года назад
This scrub pad will still get tore up because it will get caught on the seam inbetween the removable part of the grill and the outer circle. The same thing will eventually happen. CitruSafe is still my go to grill cleaner because I can clean the grill while it is still cold. It just works out better for the way I grill. You still see me use this even in my newer videos.... and the video I will release this Friday.

@@Viewtoagrill definitely weird. I tried it again and throughly dried the grates after rinsing them and got a small rust colored residue that I was able to wipe away.
