How to Clear for a New, Small Food Plot (718) 

Every food plot on my property was created in a similar fashion, so I can appreciate the amount of work even an 1/8 acre plot requires!

Great video. I'm looking forward to seeing more on this food plot. I got the chainsaw out this morning and started cutting my first hidey hole. I still have a long way to go and I don't know if I'll get to plant this year but I'm looking forward to seeing how it does. I'm in middle Tennessee and my woods look very similar to the area of the proving grounds shown in this video.

Do do you think there is still time to sneak in a hidey hole food plot before deer season? I assume this video is not filmed to long ago, I've never tried one before, but really want to after watching these videos about it this year. These would help improve my small property (44 ac.) that is mostly closed canopy forest. I hope the whole team is doing well! Looking forward to seeing the growing deer teams season this year! Will the next step before planting be a burn to remove leaf litter and stumps?

Hey grant and Daniel, Are you guys hunting on the new piece of land you all starting working on or the original piece you all are trying to sell, just curious.

What kind of herbicide did you guys use on the saplings after you cut them?

At what point is it to late to do preparations like this for the season, that it will start to effect your hunt? I'm in Ohio. Bow season starts the end of September. Are the preparations your doing for next year? Or are you planning to hunt that area this year?

How good are those battery chainsaws? I have a gas Poulan that is great but it gets heavy.

What are you spraying on the stumps

How long does it take for the herbicide to rot the stumps?

Is the only reason you use the sponge brush is to save herbicide?

Just curious, why leave a stump and not cut it flush with the ground?

Daniel, I'm sure this will come out in a future video , but how do you prepare the soil for planting with all those stumps? I assume you will burn to remove the leaf litter.

Why didn’t you burn your cut brush in the plot you lost a lot of beneficial nutrients from that ash
