Yo bros! It's amazing to be back home and I'm recovering from my Fever and back to fulltime content ASAP In the meantime, check out Porofessor if you haven't! -> links.overwolf.com/aloisnl-poro
@AloisNL one question, you said Garen is strong with 6 grubs, yet you chose to go for mid plates instead of helping your jungler, which led to losing 2 / 3 grubs, why? Was it because you didn't expect Ekko to contest it or because you valued the plates over grubs? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XeVDKvt6k6I.html Timestamp
Alois im on my second season of ranked playing sett with an 87 percent win rate so far all because of the fundamentals. Crazy how bad you can make laners look if u just understand fundamentals. So much love and appreciation for the content ❤️❤️
I wish I had the balls to ditch mid lane after playing it for 2 years and knowing basically all the match ups and start playing top to use everything you teach us. All the videos are so good, thats why I watch them without even playing top.
brother dont even doubt about it. Just swap if you feel like. I play league since beta. I was low plat until s6 then i stopped playing for a while and came back to play more often in s10 or so, most of the time ive playing jungle and adc at times, been stuck in mid gold since i came back from retirement (old man joke sry) although i havent never really aimed to improve tbh, just playing on and off along the year for fun. In this season i discovered this little piggy and i started to play top lane in split 1. Placement was in silver 4 and made it to g4 at the end of the split (around 100 games), this split i placed silver 1 and right now im plat 3 with a 54% wr (around 180 games atm, yes im going in this split xdd). Rediscovering love for league after 14 seasons is really cool tbh and all due to a simple rol swap. So at the end of the day, just do what its funnier to you, give it a shot in normal games maybe for a while then make a decision but i dont think rank should be the only reason you dont swap roles, sometimes people need to be reminded games are about having fun not just winning. So yeah, there it's my rant. My job here is done. Peace
1:08:10 it feels like the mechanics of turret range have changed. Walking out feels like it doesn't immediately break aggro anymore, and sometimes you get targeted even if you enter right after a minion. It's jarring sometimes, and even challenger players are getting caught slipping
Best Garen video I have found so far. Been searching for a quality Garen Guide/Video, but everything else I have found seem to be promoting niche build, or just showing normal gameplay.
if you want a great Garen guide ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qFZEvkf9odg.html chippys is one of the best LoL youtuber coaches and a former pro.
Diamond Garen OTP here love to watch your Videos anyway. Is it true that Phase rush scales much better, like Riste always says ? I just love it so much, since I can make bad plays and just run out. But Conqueror looks strong Atm NGL
your concentration and decision making is even more impressive considering you make a point of constantly narrating and explaining every single decision out loud to educate viewers
I have quit playing Master Yi jg and am now transitioning to top lane. For some odd reason, everytime I go jg the whole team ints from the beginning (I think the Yi pick has something to do with that subconsciously). Anyways, I'm interested in the following top laners, it would be great if you can provide educational content specifically around matchups, runes/items, when to pick which champion (team comp.), and how to play against counters: - Gwen - Mordekaiser - Volibear (with the new rabaddons + navori build) - Sett
I currently main garen so I really appreciate these videos :) give us even more of these especially ones without phase rush I kinda don't like that rune setup :,D gimme the conqueror
yeah smurfing sucks and it's pretty useless for teaching. Alois litearlly wins any matchup just with his subconscious spacing, dodging and general mechanical skill

other than ptsd, other reasons people dont go for baron in low elo is: 1. dont understand what baron buff and rewards actually are 2. dont understand concept of siege 3. dont know how to use baron as a team efficiently 4. baron buff is usually wasted for various reasons including team taking random fights instead of pushing, team resets not in sync and never grouping during the buff, etc. a lot others reasons could also exist
Honest question, so how does one stop Garen spin to win. I tried Nasus rushed bramble and steel caps, but it did nothing to slow him. Was extremely odd.
i'm pretty sure garen counters nasus. pick vayne for a free win against garen, nasus for a free win against vayne and garen for a good time against nasus. also steel caps isn't the best rush item against Garen imo because Garen Spin doesn't count as basic attacks so i don't think steel caps passive works.
Gragas with Grasp PLEASE. Try different builds/keystones if you feel like it! Think you will have much fun with Gragas «W» into Grasp Proc (insane dmg even if u go DShield/Blade, depends on matchup)
Just finished watching the first game, but had a quick Q. One of your previous vids you said that when ahead you should buy resistances - is that not true on Garen because of W passive?
How about a guide/insights to when u die early trying to implement these concepts, and u get rekt like the iron i am? Most of the people watching im pretty sure they dont know what to do when really really behind. I speak from personal experience, because even when i stay at turret farming i still die to dives.
Garen mechanically is easy. Some of the matchups aren't. Morde and Sett have been super annoying to me. There's a couple others too. I'm not that great of a player but I found success by focusing on my farming and picking strategic times to back to get off a good base. For example, I'll willing take a horrible and losing trade to get a shove on a cannon wave in a bad matchup just so I can recall. I keep in mind that even if the matchup is bad, the longer the game goes the better(or easier) it is for me. Since Garen get's a lot more healing from his passive as the game goes on and once you get T2 boots you can wave clear pretty easy. I also know a lot of the times the opponents will outplay themselves one way or another. So I just take the patient route in a bad matchup. Farm it up and get off good bases. The rest usually plays itself naturally. Eventually they'll mess up or your jungle will come gank them and you got that R you're just sitting on waiting for that moment they get too comfortable. This or they'll eventually make a bad play across the map or fudge up their macro. Just play disciplined when you know you can't really fight for lane control. Garen's E pushes waves so fast and the build gives such high move speed. They make one misstep in the early - mid game and you can punish hard. Another thing I do in a bad matchup, take short trades constantly. Step back, get some healing from the passive, go back in for another short trade. Chip away at them until their like 40% hp, then you know you've got them on the next trade with your combo + R. They're already dead before they know it. They often get comfortable winning the trades and forget that your R is gonna smite them on the next trade( keep in mind if opponent has shield like sett or morde, this can mess up your planned all in). It get's even easier to do as the game goes on since your passive really starts to kick in. These are just some things I've experienced. I like Garen a lot, but some of the matchups are genuine torture.
I watched it... I re-installed the damn game. I have an account that I only play Garen on, it's too low to even pick Ranked. I played a Quick match and went against a Mundo. I did my best to remember the tricks and stuff and overall, I think I won lane (I ended laning phase 3-0). Mundo ended up 0-5 or worse at some point, but became unkillable. In the end, their team was much more fed and mine was and had a LOT of CC, so moving wasn't possible in teamfights and we lost. My question is, in the lategame with a champion like Mundo having so much armor, regen and HP, what do I do to handle him (if we ignore everyone else)? I had Ignite and Mortal Reminder, too.
I think bork would be an option specifically against mundo, but honestly don't know instead of what to take it, you either would be glass cannon without Deadman's/FoN, lose in movespeed or crit damage (no IE)
there's literally nothing you can do in specific matchups lol, you should be doing your best to fight anyone on their team but Mundo that's up to your team to deal with
This is how you carry low elo dogs...good job Alois! Very realistic video. Dog shit team that just keeps running it down and you still carried this is good content!!
I would love to know when you go for the lens? Is there any thought involved in it? I am quite new to the game and kinda keep my yellow ward all game :) would love to hear your opinion
aw man Sett. 0 and 8 hahaha I know the feeling buddy, when you just want out of this game. And Alistar tryharding like it's his promos. 23:01 "Was that worth it man?" hahaha
i really don't know how can i climb out of bronze with fiora especially this season without divine sunderer can you make a video for climbing out of lower mmr with her? also i am a huge fan and i really improved with your videos
When i played with some friends, (they are emerald aprox. Im silver), after a really long time i started to play top lane garen when it was free and was literally a boost of wins because i got really consistent at line, almost not fighting in the map but getting tons of gold all the time (they fight all the time so every line its a masive amount of gold lmao). And all ty to the first educational video of alois of garen, ty boss, u the goat. And ty to vanguard for making me unstall the game XD
Hey Alois, Im in my second split of ranked with an 87 percent win rate on sett simply because of fundamental understanding. It’s amazing how bad you can make players look by just understanding what you teach. Lots of love for the content and get well soon bro ❤
I wish the guides would cover situations where you're not ahead , it always feels like 2 hours of showing "how to generate and extend your lead" but when you're behind you can't just proxy or use level-up timers because your opponent just outscales you, what then?
