Consultation office visits 57 modifier is valid point for cystourethroscoy ..its inly for major surgery ..along with enm codes 25 modifire may valid ..please clarify
When a patient receives hospital inpatient or observation care for fewer than 8 hours, only the initial hospital inpatient or observation care codes (99221, 99222, 99223) should be reported for the date of admission. When a patient receives hospital inpatient or observation care for a minimum of 8 hours and is discharged on the same calendar date, observation or inpatient care services (including admission and discharge services) codes (99234, 99235, 99236) should be reported. Check the video at 8:02 I have mentioned the codes.
If the patient is discharged on Same calendar date as initial hospital inpatient or observation care service, less than 8 hours report codes 99221, 99222, 99223.
With consultation service office outpatient code 99244 with modifier 57 not understand. Could you explain why append modifier 57 in oftion 'c' also right for condition.. pls explain 57 modifier
Modifier 57 is for -Decision for surgery. The 57 modifier is used to indicate that a major surgery was recommended during the consultation because in the question the urologist recommends cystoscopy.
I have mentioned time based codes for (different day discharge) that is (99238,99239) In CPT book Page 19 -There is a table under Heading -Hospital Inpatient or Observation Care Services (Including admission and discharge services) You will find codes based on time. Check it out👍
