I actually started to get really into the Pre-Raphaelites just a few weeks ago (via Waterhouse, to Burne-Jones, to Rossetti), and sure enough, I get Christie's newsletter showcasing all of these beautiful paintings you exhibit!

If you like the Pre-Raphaelites, there’s a film (on Netflix): Ophelia. It’s Hamlet from the women’s point of view, but each scenes in the movie is pretty much pre-raphaelite.

It is clear Miss Sarah Reynolds is most worthy being painted as an Angel or Goddess in a Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood style, or any style for that matter, as a mystical creature who wandered from the astral plane to Earth whom came. Seduction at its finest: "Please Ring the Bell, " indeed.

Dear Sarah, I am trying to find someone who knows about the art of Anna Maria Charretie 1842-75. As it happens, a portrait OF her turned up for auction today, which was interesting to find. She painted a piece entitled The Children of J D Harris Esq c1871. This was Charretie’s largest painting (says Dictionary of British Women Artists, Sara Gray 2009. Mrs J D Harris was in fact Francis/Fanny Rosenberg, her friend and fellow RA artist whose works (as do Charreties') get into the top 3-figure range, though she was no good at people, so gave her friend the commission. Francis's family were also noted artists. Her grandson was the well-known coin and heraldic designer and stained glass artist George Kruger Gray. So the painting of The Children of J D Harris depict George's mother and uncle. If it still exists in any known location, or as a photo or catalogue etching, I'd love to see it. Thanks so much, Tony
