Hi Lila. Thanks for the tutorial. I felt you kept it basic enough and provided a clear explanation then neatly tied it together. I was able to better understand not only the how but the what and why as well.
@@lilafromyoutube Hahaha now that you mention it 🤔 Haha just kidding, I think the biggest sign of an expert is that they can explain concepts to novices!
Hey great video! Do you know why your waveform (LUMA) is in black and white and mine has colours? Is that difference relevant? and how can I change it? Thanks!
Yes, if you right click on the lumetri scopes you can choose which waveform you want to see. I always use the LUMA (showing the exposure of the video), I think you have the RGB (colours of the video) enabled :)
I have definitely been guilty of not using the scopes, the evidence is there to see on my channel. Am i going to remove them, 'Hell Nawwwww.' I can look back and see where I've come from. Great Vid Lila :)
hahaha I totally get that! And no, don't remove the videos, it's fun for both you as well as the people who follow you on your journey to see where you were and where you are now (and where you will be)! Thanks Craig, you rock!!
This kind of tutorial would benefit A LOT to be way more straight to the point. A real how-to. Do this, do that, boom, done. For further explanations about the whole lumertri things, make a longer detailed video. But here, the information is too diluted. I leave you a comment though, so that's that :)
Your content is so helpful and clear to follow. Keep making videos! You’ll have a huge following in no time. Alright sent two of your other videos to my pals. Thanks so much
Hi, I want to be in contact with you just because I really need your help how to make a movie and I been working on it and I can’t do it by myself. Thank you for the help.
@@lilafromyoutube Been super busy getting diverted from my passion project here on the Tube. Did some new footage last night though hoping to get a new posting up tonight.
Hi Ian!! You're very welcome, I'm glad it helped! Haha me too, I don't like the hair they leave everywhere but I do LOVE how furry and soft they are :) do you have long haired cats?
Wow, thanks Brad! That's an amazing compliment, I appreciate it. Feel free to drop a comment at any time if you have any questions about editing or filmmaking in general, that's why I'm here!
Thank you! This gives me more info on how to color correct....I've just been going by sight and I know that is not a great idea. I'll keep messing with it.....practice makes progress! :-)
Hey christian! Playing it by ear.. or eye actually 😜 is not always a great idea. I've caught myself doing that sometimes too, but it's really the best to also use the scopes. And I agree, practice makes progress!! Keep it up :)
I've been looking at so many tutorials and couldn't wrap my head around colour correction and colour grading (you cleared that up for me in your video too!) and now I get it. You're an exceptional teacher and it's criminal that you don't have more subscribers. I'm so glad I found you. Subscribed for sure!
Hey Sierra, thanks so much! I really appreciate that 😊 if there's anything I can help you with related to colour orienting and grading, please let me know! I'm happy to help 😁
Lila, thank you so much!! I just started color correcting a timeline that is already edited into many clips. Do I need to go through each clip and adjust the scopes, or can I use an adjustment layer for that as well?
You can do all the color corrections and grading on an adjustment layer so it will immediately be applied to l the clips below that adjustment layer! :)
Hey! Do you know why my "lumetri scopes" is only showing one screen? I mean, you have both the circle and black and white, where as I only have one "square" (?) with a straight line of colour...sorry I'm still learning and I don't know the lingo, I hope this makes sense! Thanks so much!! Love your vids and they help me a lot!
2:20 WAIT A MINUTE! Not only does Gizmo teleport you at will, but apparently is an internet troll. this cat is something else lol. But great video Lila, and yeah the final color correction is so satisfying.
lila I am always watching your 😍videos🎥 Kindly answer my 2 question s please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 A1) can we convert any video into a log footage inside premier pro cc Ex-if someone shoot footage in kelvin it might be 5000 or 3000 Can we change that footage inside post production... Inside premier pro A2) there any particular video formate to color grading? Bcz after color grading my footage shows some problem in skin tone 50℅red 20℅green 40℅brown Kindly answer my question🙋 please🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Although, I am still just a little confused on the waveforms. Are we supposed to adjust until its more spaced out where there used to be a concentration?
8:32 really satisfying. You are awesome. color correction, the most mysterious thing ever. always felt that i am never near to perfection in color correction. will try this. thanks a lot.
Hiii Veera! I know, SO satisfying! It's important to remember to keep the correction simple, because you only want to correct it, not make it look pretty, that's what grading is for. Let me know how it goes, if you have any questions, you know where to find me!
Hey Lila! Just wanted to take a minute to say "Thank You". Just found your channel today. Already... you've saved me "hours of time" trying to learn a few things from other sources. Love that you keep these lesson around 15 minutes!!! Great job!!! Thanks again!
Great videos. As a RU-vid creator i wanted to tell you that you have some quality content. Keep it up. I’m gonna check out a lot of your videos. I’ll be sure to like and comment on a ton of them to help the algorithm
I am subbed and love your vids but you are always way too blue, like a sad movie or horror film. I am not sure how this trend to blue started, like the black rims on a car did (vomit) but I love to see a warmer more inviting video. I find it interesting that the most advanced users of Premier always end up with the worst CC by maybe thinking it is more cinematic to be blue? It is cinematic, like a horror film. Honestly making it a little hard to watch. As we know the rule is for happy we want warm and vibrant, sad, cold, or scary we want blue. So a tutorial like this with some of your classic humor should be in the middle leaning to the right of warm, IMHO. Thanks for another awesome tutorial though! - Kevin Venture
Thanks Kevin! My videos are never blue actually, dark yes, blue no 😂 this is what my interior looked like years before I started RU-vid, so it's just a coincidence that my moody house matches the average youtuber 😂 I do agree that the positive vibes don't really match the background very much, but at the same time this is who I am and what I love. I am planning to add some warm touches in my new studio, but it will definitely be dark and moody 😜
Weird, I havent had that problem before. Have you tried colorgrading a different project to see if it is this project or premiere pro? Also, have you cleaned your cache and updated all your drivers? Try that and reboot premiere pro.
Hiiii Brian!! haha I get that. Setting your white balance manually will already help you a lot! For this video, I forgot to set my white balance and it was one of those days that the clouds were moving super fast and therefore the exposure kept changing. I had to do a LOT of correction for this video, so I feel your pain. But usually by setting my white balance manually it doesn't take too long.
Sooooo Sasitfying! Totally! oh man. After i color correct things, and look back at the original... i ask myself, "how could I have even ever looked at that image before...!"
Hey you are good but one friendly advise or tip if I may , you don't get to the point, your video is like you are talking to your BFF , first 4 minutes you talk about everything but how to start editing, most of us are very busy and trying to get info quick , if you want more views instead of talking about other stuff be precise and get to the point quickly then you will look professional which means more views and subscribers , good luck!
Hi Lila, I love your videos, thank you! I have the waveform but not the color circle and don't know where to find it. I have clicked window but it only shows the waveform under lumetri scopes
Lets make something complex and challenging and make it easy to follow and understand.... from now on this will just be called "Doing a Lila!" Once again you make it simple!
YEEEESSSS ADAM! this is why I do what I do, thank you so much. This made my day! (and it's almost 2am so that's another 22h to go!) Is there anything you'd like me to cover?
