You,sir, are a kind and caring soul. Your videos are meaningful, and heartfelt. Bless you and the ones you love. You have no idea how much this world needs your voice right now. We are grateful for you. I say "we" because I know I am not alone in my feeling. Sending a big soul hug
I was in such extreme pain last night that my body started panicking, I remembered watching this video and used the square breathing to get some control back. There are no words to explain how much this helped me and I just wanted to say thank you.
@@simpingspartan646 it’s a technique used pretty commonly. My psychiatrist taught it to me a while back. For me breathing techniques aren’t helpful, but it’s a great thing to put out there.
You have no idea how much I needed this video to focus myself away from my anxiety today. Thank you for reminding me of the power of breath. It’s easy to forget all the tools for stress relief when you’re having a panic attack. Thanks again, you really are a special person 👍
Just wanted to say thank you for this video. I was on a particularly turbulent flight today. I HATE turbulence, so it was a bad time for me. I used the square breathing technique to calm myself down and it really helped.
CrafsMan is on the level of wholesomeness and grace as icons like Mr. Rodgers and Levar Burton. Thank you so much for being there for everyone through stress and joy. We love you
This is really helpful! My breathing varies in panic attacks-sometimes too fast, too slow, or I'll just hold my breath all without me really realizing. Having a steady repetitive pattern makes me feel less out of control and the repetition itself is soothing.
I've been very sick and throwing up for several days, and stricken with insomnia, which really affects my anxiety/depression, as well. Your videos help me to relax, more than any music or anything else. This one showed up right on time to make a huge difference for me. Thank you so much. We love you, and keep steady craftin!
Yes you do! Once i couldn’t fall asleep and I felt like I was going to have a panic attack and I put you on and it really helped me fall back to sleep thank you 😊
Watching at half speed I almost passed out...... This IS a more stressful time. My life had already become a stress factory after an accident 8 years ago. So much so, I export stress. Friends that would help you move a couch don't want to share your stress, but the source is there, and it's not going away. The big picture is too overwhelming and it would just crush me if I took it all in at once. So the best I can do is try to break it up with distractions. The more stressed I get, the faster I click videos. It's about the only thing I can do, both physically, and financially. Breathing is also one of the things I'm able to do, and it's free, but sometimes I still forget to do it, or I do it too much. Great video and great advice!
Thank you Mr. The Crafsman. I am going to try and use this technique when I am doing my MRI next week. (Wed) I injured my shoulder (dislocated) and they are worried that my rotator cuff has been torn. I went in last week and I could NOT stand the tightness of that tube. I've been rock climbing for over 25 years... I can be anchored off the side of a cliff @ 800' off the ground with no problem. But you put me in a tube and I freak out. :( Thank you sir for all you do for us. We love you, and keep on ste..... you know what to do! :)
You've got this! Pretend it's a pillow fort and take a nap, that's what I did for mine. The worst part was the injection of the contrast, but they won't even be doing that for yours by the sound of it.
Strangely, when I'm in a stressful situation, then I let my imagination take me up in to the mountains. I get you with the 800' up and in your element. Put me on the end of a rope half way up a cliff in the snow, out in the wilds, and I'm fine. Put me up on a roof, or up a ladder, with no rope and I'm not so happy. Put me in that big metal tube going ping and I'm not at all comfortable. Just remember. Breath. Go in your imagination to your happy place. Be patient, and let the big machine that goes clunk, do its thing and you will be just fine. Bored, but fine. Oh, and keep an eye on that shoulder for a few months. Don't go lifting any MRI machines with it. ;~)
I'm new to your channel and I've already seen and liked all your videos, the sound of your voice, the crafts you make and the message you transmit are "mind and soul-comfort" it's been helping me a lot in a very difficult time that I'm going through. (I lost my 15 year old dog to cancer, he was everything to me) I want to thank you, I'm glad I found your channel. Stay well.
I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I lost my cat last March. He was a week shy of turning 17. It's been over six months and I'm only just about able now to recall all the lovely times with him. Wotta terrible year, right?
@@tygerstripes3752 thank you, I'm sorry for your loss too... so many years is a lifetime. And yes, the crisis makes everything worse and for some of us there will never be back to normal.
@@LourdesGzz Just yesterday it occurred to me that what has happened in the last year is like how I recall feeling when personal computers came about. It's a global paradigm shift. Yes, it's a new normal for everyone, but it won't feel new forever. I promise.
Thank you I am normally a controld person but today somthing out of my strength happened today. Call it Devin intervention or just plain God. I found this. You knew I would need this before I did. Thank you for your heart.
Thank you, Crafsman! That is exactly the Breathing Technique I have taught all my children so they can Self Regulate their Breathing and get Self Control goin on when their Emotions get to Overwhelming them. Great Video, as always!
I am blessed not to have anxiety but I know so many folks, who are affected by it. I’m so glad I have something tangible I can share with them. God bless you !
I love this! I work as a therapist and use this breathing technique with clients. This is such a great, simple, clear, relaxing description, I will share this with them in the future!
I can't believe I didn't see this until now - I just today recommended breathing exercises as a stress management tool to my adult autism support group, and here's a half a year old video that explains it all perfectly in under 5 mins. Crafsman, you a Godsend
Thank you, Crafsman. Over this past year I've realised how much anxiety I have inside me and how tense I am. Trying this square breathing for a few minutes made me feel noticeable more relaxed. Thank you kindly, good sir.
Crafsman, I couldn't sleep because I've very excited about my upcoming trip to see my family. I tried a relaxation thing on Fitbit and it did not help, but your Square Breathing sure did! And now I have the memory of a cool visual to go with it...those little blue and yellow squares traveling in a square. Now instead of picturing some random vague square, I can picture your excellent blue and yellow squares on their soothing square journey. Thank you, Crafsman.
Mr crafsman i really would like to say thank you for this. Times have been hard on everyone, and it speaks leagues to me that youre willing to try and help the people out where normally a creator wouldn't. So... Thank you. Genuinely. And i really hope you and your family have a wonderful week.
CrafsMan you are a wonderful human being. I’ve learned square breathing somewhere before but had forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder. Peace and love to you and the CrafsFamly. ❤️
Craftsman it doesn’t surprise me what people say about your videos. They always seem to brighten my day even when I’m already having a good one! You bring an energy that is pure in heart and I think people can feel that even if they don’t know they feel it. That and the ASMR of your voice and the way you go about pronouncing certain syllables is soothing to the soul. Keep on keepin on Crafsman!
Thank you, Your Host Crafsman. This video is sure to help thousands of people. Also, a tip: think to yourself "everything will be okay" while counting to 4.
As a social worker who has taught this technique so many times, this is great! You covered everything, kept it simple to understand, and made it entertaining. Thanks you so much for this. I love your channel. ❤
I was on a plane with my family when we hit the worst turbulence I have ever experienced. As my fiancé gripped my hand tight I just thought about you and your voice. I actually prayed to the crafman.
It must be weird to start a RU-vid channel for crafting and then realize your work helps other's mental health. He reminds me of Fred Rodgers with the comforting wholesomness they both exude.
I am one of those people. I have repeatedly shared your videos cause that feeling at peace and safe calm u provide.. You are a wonderful being for many. Thank you gratefully a true fan. Im glad you are available to so many... Most importantly kids. Id have found a healthy role model!!!✌
Warning! this video has caused me all kinds of stress. I was watching it while driving and between Craftsmans smooth calming voice and the bird chirping in the back ground and becoming relaxed I fell asleep and wrecked my car! No not really I ain't that dumb to watch a video while driving but I could see it happening. Great video Craftsman.
I had a wonderful mentor when I was studying artistic welding and metal sculpture. His approach wasn't even remotely as chill as our man the Crafsman, but anytime I'd get bent out of shape or anxious over a project he'd just glance up at me over his thick frame glasses and say "stress kills kid...stress kills".
Quite literally, I just watched an older video of yours, today, to help with a minor anxiety surge. This video is perfectly timed. Thanks, so much, CrafsMan
As a deli manager going into the holidays, i definitely needed this video. Your other videos are calming enough for the same effect but this was focused on relaxing specifically which was also really nice
that video couldnt have come at a better time. im sure theres a ton of other people who feel the same, but for me, that was some real serendipity timed video posting crafsman. thankyou.
Thank you so much for this crafsman! I have never heard of this technique. Usually when people tell me different breathing excersizes, I forget the number of seconds I need to inhale, exhale, and hold. But the visualization of the square makes it so much easier to remember!
you are truly a good man. You have given me my belief back in the goodness of people. I hope that those who have watched this will pass it on to others in there need. Bless you
You're such a sweet and compassionate individual, Crafsman! You saw a need for something amongst your viewer base and decided to directly make a difference :)
CrafsMan. I dont know where you are. Or what you are doing. But you have given me the tools to chase a real dream. It's a stupid crazy idea, but in my mind, it works. I have learned more from you in 3 days of binge watching than i could "evah" expect from a store employee.
Comments like this mean so much to my wife and me. She likes making sure I hear ones like this because MANNN sometimes it feels like I really need it. So thank you for taking time to write this, and know that Crafsman and Crafsmama wish you the very best in your adventures! If I can help, holla: (thecrafsman A T gmail D O T com) Thank you again!
I LOVE boxed breathing! i personally like to breathe in and out through my nose, I find it to be more therapeutic. I'm so glad you've shared this information.
Thank you crafsmam, it is beautiful to see more creators helping with stress, anxiety, depression. I advocate positive mental health in my videos and live streams. Just the other day I explained one of the breathing techniques that i use. Thank you so much for this video.
Fantastic video! I love you too, Crafsman. I have struggled with anxiety for most of my life (the last 4 days was fixin to do me in, but we made it!) and breathing has been the most effective anti-anxiety tool I’ve found. I combine this “square” technique with diaphragmatic breathing - so you do this square breathing, but ONLY by using your belly. Inflate your belly, pulling in the breath; hold it; release, hold, repeat. Don’t let your chest swell, or your shoulders move at all. Only moving the belly. This triggers a ‘rest and digest’ response in your brain and body - your brain thinks it’s time for sleep and digestion - and this is especially wonderful for people (like me) who also suffer from stomach upset associated with stress/anxiety.
