@@mrsamuelpenn i imagine you could. it also helps to brush the lengths with a soft bristle brush to loosen up some of that hair so it locks together better
I have some thin locs not at the root but toward the end of some of my locs, due to stupidly trimming the frizz off my roots after a fresh interlock in my 1st uear of my journey. I watch people do this and have NEVER been able to understand what they are doing. But you slowed it down and demonstrated so easily. That made it click for me. TY. I am 5 years into my loc journey.
This is the best loc combination video ever... And I've been looking for months. I really appreciate how thorough in detail this is. Thank you. New subscriber now.
Great tutorial. I had a two headed dragon that I needed to combine more than halfway to the bottom. I had the exact need and did what you said except for interlock and it combined perfectly. Thanks for an easy tutorial!
Naw you wanna take the crochet start at the tip of the loc, work your way up and then act as if you’re taking apart the loc just to make it really frizzy and then combine, makes it have a way fuller & thicker look .. i did it the same way he is in vid months ago and it only made my roots thicker, locs looked damn near the same size as before i combined them cus they was so compact from all the retwist
amazing amazing amazing tutorial. I plan to interloc some of my boyfriends locs since they're thin and retwist some new growth so this definitely helped!!
@@mbr4670 it really isn't hard. At least not for everyone. When I originally began my locs I crocheted them myself because they kept coming undone. I had no experience at all. That was nearly 3 years ago. Ironically a lot of my locs have married together on their own since then.
Gunther ain’t lying when he said be careful with the crochet needle cuz a few weeks ago I was crocheting one of my dreads in the back and I accidentally shoved my crochet needle into my finger not in my nail I legitimately shoved it straight into my finger above my nail and it was painful and stuck in there I got it stuck in my finger at 12 Am and finally took it out at 5 Am I got it stuck 2 more times after that
Thank you for this tutorial… I need to combine some locs before my next retwist but can’t wait for the next retwist to do so… ordering the crochet hook now ☺️
wym yo locs been splitting? why are they doing that? (I’m trying to get a visual image, I just started mine earlier this year & am trying to be as informed as possible, I’ve never heard anybody say this)
Would you recommend tightening the interlock after you’ve already combined them? I’m worried about creating a hole on my client. I think I’ll just combine the root like you did, & leave it. Thanks so much for this
omg thank you for this video, I split four of my freeforms over a year into maturing and I regret it so much. I'm going to get a crochet hook to fix them. I'm not gonna interlock though, i heard that's bad to do on caucasian hair, just gonna crochet em, I'm scared of the hook but I really wanna fix my dreads up, wish me luck
Locks or lox or locs. They are not ‘dread’! Historically the ‘explorers ‘ called the look dreadful or dreadlocks, which has a negative connotation. Our locs are beautiful!
Imma combine my thin dreads bc i have some thin dreads and two of them came out bc they were thinning but do you have any tips to keep my dreads from thinning
This video was really helpful, did this by myself, I wouldn’t recommend it doing it by yourself even if you knew because it’s a pain 😅😭but it’s worth it , it gets easier as I’m finishing, your hands will get sore
Question itll be a year of me having locs my wife sections my hair every time. Its been a lil bit since i got em re done but i can see the sections when i move my hair. Does she have to re section again because of new growth or can she just retwist em.
Let’s that two weeks ago you twisted two locs together so they combine over time , can u combine them with the hook while it’s already in the twist or do I have to untwist them and combine them just like in the video
Are you sticking the tool in and out of the loc and that it or is there an angle that I need to be using to do it correctly? I want to wick my own locs looking for pointers
Can you combine 2 dreds like this that were started the instant way (crotchet and hook)? Mine were done too skinny and i want to combine them to make em thicker
I'm glad to come across this video. I'm a year in, first off I love my Dreadlock but they are skin and three of them inside a pen thin if u know what I'm saying. I retwist my hair and love tha way they are together. I made sum like Congo's its fresh
We just had our grandson's dreads combined and the lady only crochet the dread little at the root and two or third stranded the dreads together with weaving thread. It look horrible! What would you suggest doing?
