This was very helpful, thank you! I live in the San Bernardino mountains and we've had bears go through our trash so that was my big worry when thinking about composting.
I am building a home in known black bear territory. They have been a nuisance to the neighbors trash cans for a couple of years now. I would love to grow blueberries, raspberries and strawberries on my property along with other vegetables. How can I do this without inviting the bears to my property their next stop on their trash route? I have thought about electric fencing, but not sure that would be deterrent enough.
