You forgot the most important part of concreting here in oz....you must complain constantly about trucks/batchers/reps/pumpy's/labourer's/the weather and other concretors whilst screeding...it makes it even more flat.
Good job mate, these clowns who think you gotta go break records every time you pick up a screed arent right in the motor, i kick these bastards off the job site, concrete has got to be flat not screeded in record time.
As a journeyman carpenter who has worked on major commercial projects all over the West coast of the United states,I have set up many pours and have met many "Crete dogs",,,I've got to say that ninja is one of the best I've ever seen!!
I've been concreting for 10 years in nsw australia and good to see a video on how to to properly screed concrete not like the cowboys who screed with a timber with 2 people and scissor it cough cough usa. Everything that is said in this video is 100% correct. I remember being told dont rush and get it right when I was learning. It is a lot harder than it looks in vid but technique in video is the way I was shown and the right way to do it.these screeds we use in australia that wasn't mentioned in vid, ithought I would add for anyone who didnt know. They have a sharp edge and blunt edge we always have sharp edge facing us when screeding to cut into concrete and then blunt to close up concrete when we roll screed away from us
Jimmy Lopez thanks bro and it is good to do it the right way or the Easyway . There is over 250 concrete videos on my channel make sure to check them out and there is a lot more to come . Thanks for watching bro
Would be good to mention how wet your mix is whilst screeding. Yes I know how good our concrete pourers bu a little more info for the young bucks would be good
Awesome work, I ordered an OX tools 2400 mm screed here in the US after seeing this video and I've used it a few times. What mix are you using in this video? Most of our concrete has large (up to 25mm) aggregate and it's tough to screed with this style screed. I'm pouring 75 square meters tomorrow and ordered it with smaller aggregate to see if it screeds easier. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work 👊🏻. Are you on Instagram?
DE Vlog I think 32 MPA is about 4600 psi. We usually pour floors at 4000 psi here. I did a pool deck today with smaller aggregate and it was a little easier. Really liked the Aussie style screed. Beats a 2x4!
Awesome training video. New workers watch this the day before, then supervise on the job. I only wonder if this works in the in other countries.🤔Great job! 🙂
I know I was like where do they get those as mine is a 8ft magnesium 2x5. Ours is good for pulling lots more concrete when you have shitty helpers, with good helpers you can use the one he has
NINJA !!!! I got qustion - way you use are helicopter mashine ! its dont enougth yous 8 feet screed - after Bull Float - and arter Fresno BIG BLUE ! thes is will be not enaugth quality to biuld house on it - tu putt tails on it oa eany enother floor ! what can you say ! you so many of thi vidwo in youtube in USA
I'm about to get a concreting job and I said I was experienced lol but I'm not never done it in my life so I'm tryna quickly get a lil info off these concrete videos 😂
Jay Wins that’s awesome bro go for it there is heaps of videos on my channel over 400 concrete videos sit down and enjoy and I hope you go good on your job good luck
Do your videos in hi def brus, not raggin you out but it’s easy to hide histakes with low def videos. Any good concreter will give you respect if they can see detail so let’s see some detail 🤙
Joseph Torres not sure where you get that kind of concrete from, concrete waits for no one, its not like if you spend a little longer screeding its gonna take longer to go off...
He's demonstrating how to do it, so it's probably half as fast as he usually works, just so you can see the technique. Smooth, fast worker, you can tell just by the way he moves and the finish he achieves with economy of movement. Top job.
Joseph Torres Concrete in Australia is hard than others countries, because I have worked in USA Canada and England, but in Australia concreting must be top quality when it’s come to concrete, not like screed to eye level and make looks good with bull float , we keep do chech level as we screeds,
i like it man easy to work behind. im from the u.s. most people rip here i hate it sucks to seal up. me i do what i call the jigsaw screed. similar to yours a little different and a bigger screed. but keep up the nice work i know it took longer because you were demonstrating how its done. sorry most people cant comprehend and if they got to finish behind you once im sure they would prefer this over the rip n kick method
+Concrete ninja haha i know mate i done slabs for about 6-7 months about 2 years ago we were a bunch of lazy fuckers so we just used the motor screed(magic) all the time .it does make life much easier.
h s m oh mate around where I live that’s what people pay me for is to screed . And it has to be perfectly flat . The best thing about screening flat the finish time is easy as fuck . I normal day for me is six hours but I get paid day rate so the quicker I finish the more money I make .
Just a tip dont screed up to your gumboots, stop atleast half a foot before your boots and take a step back.not only does it stop the hole from filling up with slurry but you also can keep screeding with out having to stand up and having to fill comcrete with your boots...you also need good rakers or it going to be a long day at the office.
Hayley Tawhai Thanks for the tips buddy we never have a long day and a long day for me six hours driving out the gate . This whole house took me an hour and 45 minutes to screed off . show me a video of you doing it and then I can comment about your style . each to their own buddy . I have been doing this for 20 years I’m not about to change my style and I’ve only got another four weeks to go and then fuck the concreting I’m going to be living the dream . 🤘
Haha looks about 160 slump!! Get some 50mpa in summer at 80 slump see how ya go people!! Not always as easy as this let me tell ya. Still can screed though and good tips mate👍
Know all hero 👆,right here ,slump looks fine you basher , I’ve used full dose accelerator 50 mpa ,with plasticiser mind you ,10 minutes later could barely walk out of it whilst screeding .
Nice work mate. Im a chippy but used to build tilt panels in northern NSW and Queensland. I actually love typing steel and concreting but like plenty of older tradies my back and knees are buggered. It makes it hard to concrete these days
I almost forgot...waiting time/where's smoko chick?/ im not going and boxing that up after i finish here...you should never run out of things to whinge about if your properly organized...the options are endless
Concrete ninja Same dude...but they always push for that bit extra... thats where a good bit of subtle backstabbing comes into play...thats a whole other skill...hey you should make part 2 ' there is nothing a bullfloat and stick trowel cannot fix '
Christopher Tar thanks mate I am from Bundaberg Queensland and there is lots of videos on this channel over 300 concrete videos for you to enjoy thanks for watching
@@concreteninja awesome videos as I said. I'm from from Sydney and spent a few months in Cairns, and a dab in Bundy. I specialize in CCTV but recently transferred to civil. I'd love an 'Aussie explanation of mpa, reinforcing, laser levels and RL' compatible with Australian standards, if you have the time please. Loving the videos 🙂
Sean Ward You can have it pretty much straight after you Bull float it . The more you keep on it the easier it will be . I will try to make another video about the walking Trail very soon .
Tomas Arias Don’t forget I am explaining how to do the job we go a lot quicker than . Have to show me a video of you guys have ago I might learn something always out to learn something new .
Tomas, are you in the USA? Slabs in Oz are finished at a faster rate and are almost always flatter and more accurately level than most of the ones we see on YT that are done by the Yanks and some others. As well, the Yanks don't use reo chairs, or mesh, waste heaps of time tying reo together (and don't seem to have the reo supported correctly), pour very sloppy concrete, use pieces of timber to screed, so it's never truly flat, then try to take out the resultant waves with gadgets like jitterbugs and rollers and so on. Then they spend forever on their hands and knees hand trowelling everything. We screed flat first, with a purpose designed aluminium screed with handle, use a laser level, so no need for the wasted time and effort to try to fix it after that. Yes, we take a bit longer to screed, but save HOURS because we don't need to fiddle forever trying to get it flat. It's dead level and flat before the bullfloat and chopper goes on. They are finishing tools and are not intended to be used to flatten wavy and uneven concrete. Get it flat first, then finish it properly.
Hes explaining how to do it...and by that showing the movements more times shows people who who have no idea enough times to understand. Quite obvious but not for some. #straya #qlder
Not for nothing. But you guys down under must not do alot of square footage, or Square meters. . To many moves, and if you get a hot humid day, you guys will be killing yourselves when Cold joints start happening and you when you have to drop guys back to start finishing
Working in Australia as a civil engineering helper is far better than doing Engineering job in India. Even labour earns good sum of amount in Australia
