Hi prabh - ive been working on external audit. So please excuse me if im wrong and correct me As per my understanding controls and relevant attributes will be already designed by the auditee management (change management head in this case) to cover up the risk and the auditors actually test if these attributes are met during test of design and op effectiveness. To my knowledge risks controls and attributes are not prepared by the auditors but by the auditee management as per the existing sop docs etc.dunno if in internal audit its the other way round. Please correct me if im wrong

Hey Nitin you are absolutely right auditee prepares a control matrix but that is applicable when you are doing assurance audit and compliance.Internal audit perspective is completely difference because these audit are not based on any external standard that is why rcm prepare by internal auditor based on that they did audit and If internal auditor is depend on rcm of the auditee then objective does not met

@@PrabhNair1 Want to add something RCM is drafted by Auditor in line with the identified key potential risk post kick-off call with process owner and understanding biz processes and using D.A......and exisiting controls put in by management to address the identified risks, being auditor we test the same on basis of the assertion level, controls design and op effectiveness (TOD & TOE). Also we categorise the control Frequency, it's nature(P OR D)
