How to configure d-link 1610 Wi-Fi extender

It's different from one extender to another. I believe it's printed on the back of your extender.

@@aminsedighfar Nope. It's getting warm throughout when it's in use but it's working fine. I thought my product is defective😅 So it's common?

@@abdulrahmanbasheer2276 one reason that it can be produced in a lower price is using cheaper network elements. So, they’re all the same !

Hi, you either can do it with the reset button, or try to open it with a browser, then click on “reset default factory” button.

I’d call this as a cheap option to extend your network. If it doesn’t work with the written password on it and hard reset doesn’t help. I guess you need to return it.

Nothing like what?! You mean just loading? No wrong password error? kinda unexpected! If you're sure about typing correctly (fat-fingering, caps lock on, etc...), the only thing that I can say is to restart it to default factory again. Let me know what you do and the result.

What do you mean? When you turn your wifi booster on , your laptop doesn’t show it in available SSIDs? Or when you want to configure it, inside your extender you’re not able to see your house wifi router?

@@aminsedighfar I mean, when I try to connect to the D-Link wifi range extender as a wifi network nothing shows up

@@Hackertraker If you’re sure you’re resetting it properly ( like the way I do in the video with a toothpick), try to connect to it with a cable.

I have the same problem i don’t have a new wifi to connect to and on the D-Link app it says to connect to the D-Link internet

What do you mean? Do you mean where you can enable or disable 5G?

@@aminsedighfar got it anyway ,if my router that the internet provider doesn’t support 5 G should I enable it in my extender or not ?

@@jasonadersonwedion9874 either works! if you only get 2.4 GHz from the ISP router, you can broadcast it in 5GHz. In fast the 5GHz option that you see inside the D-Link configurations is for signal propagation.

Basically it’s the way that it works, one SSID and password for the both bands.

@@aminsedighfar found out a way that lets you extend both 2.4 & 5 ghz frequencies with separate paswwords

What is you d-link wifi extender model?

DAP-1610 was my extender model. Check out your extender model on the back of it, if must be something else but with a kinda similar naming scheme.

When it’s blinking red, it means you should do web-browse your wifi extender and start to configure it.

You mean Ethernet cable? To show it you can have wifi even if your modem doesn’t support wifi. With this device you can have and extend your service whether you already have wifi or not.

@@aminsedighfar Maybe you can do another video showing how to set it up through the d-link app on your phone. I've been trying to do it without an ethernet cable using the app. The range extender connects to my router wirelessly (all 3 Signal Indicator bars lit) and I can connect to the internet with my devices, but the status LED continues to blink orange. It will not turn green. I've tried just about everything I can think of by way of the set up app. It's still blinking orange.
