In this video, I connect the Renogy 1000W 12v to 230v Pure Sine Wave Inverter with UPS mode to my VoltaX 100ah LiifePO4 battery. I've got the Australian/New Zealand model and there are a few differences from the USA model.

you shouldnt really connect the +without precharging the caps inside first with a resistor of some sort save the surge and sparking which could damage the unit

How?

If it’s sparking, you’re not doing it correctly. Use a resistor to slow charge the inverter first.

Normally, always connect the positive cable first then the negative cable. When disconnecting always disconnect the negative then the positive.

I tried to get a remote switch for my Renogy 2000Watt inverter but Renogy would Not sell this switch. It only comes with the unit.

Hi matt. Wondering if you can help. I've just wired up 2 x 100w panels to a controller, 1x 12v battery and this inverter. The only problem is when I turn the inverter on it clicks every few seconds like a relay is being set off. Tried using the 3 pin plug and power goes on and off, but no error light. Any ideas what it could be?

What fuse did you add at the end of the cable and why?

Hi Matt, whats the cable input for on the left hand side of the front of the inverter? Do you know if you can charge your leisure batter from it? Thanks

It's for the wired remote control panel which has an on/off switch and indicator LED on it. It comes with it, but it's optional whether you use it. You can see it briefly in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YzzTeJQla3I.html

Quick question, how many 12v batteries can you connect to the Renogy 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter? Thinking of buying it.

As long as they are connected in parallel I don't see any reason you couldn't connect as many batteries as the batteries support running in parallel. Eg, my current batteries support max 3 identical batteries in parallel.

@@matt-talks-tech Hi Matt what is the correct way to connect 4 batteries in parallel to enable the inverter to pull from all 4 batteries equally? I read each battery needs to be connected to the pos/neg of the battery next to it. Then the inverter must be connected to the last batteries pos/neg terminals? Does this also apply to charging as my inverter is also a charger if AC power is supplied to it.

Yes, I use it with 3x 100ah lithium batteries to run my office power, charging overnight during off-peak billing and switching to 240v mains power during that time and then running off the batteries during expensive electricity periods. It auto switches with no issues between grid power and battery power. I just have it on a timer and it works a treat.
