Hi. You will need to use a compatible cable with your midi controller to connect to your PC. This is to 'power on' the controller and communicate with the PC. I'm not sure that a printer cable is compatible. You can easily source a compatible cable on ebay at a reasonable price. Hi. Read the instructions on this page for mac procedures. I find sometimes that even though the DAW has recognised the controller the settings in the DAW need adjusting for the controller to connect but a little care and patience usually delivers success. @IVSpolly I check all beforehand.. I looked online for solutions and others have the same problem where the little screen turned off although the keyboard indicates it's on.

Hi i had the same problem with my newer laptop idk why i connect it via usb but after some seconds the screen turns off but when i switched to my older laptop it somehow worked but now i am having another problem when i click the system key nothing really happens

@@pepo306 Could be a hard ware problem. If you have a 'dead' key it may be your keyboard key sensors need cleaning. It's a fairly simple job.

had this issue using a usb type a to b. if you follow the steps fast enough it worked for me

I only cleaned the sensors and it worked perfectly but you can always add the graphite pen.
