Great video as usual!

Thanks for clarifying. I connected my V1 and V2 this week. I modified the cable between the two groups but inverter only recognized half capacity. Don't know if it was recognizing new or old, all SOC lights were on. I called Signature Solar and they suggested I set protocol switches for Lux power, which was 1,2 and 3 down, 4,5 and 6 up. Cycled batteries and all is well EXCEPT... Small amber lights on the upper right corner of V2 ports are blinking! Everything else working fine. Strange indeed... Thanks for your help to this community.

Interesting. I haven’t heard of the amber light blinking thing before. I may see if I can replicate that in my shop.

Thank you. I try to think of everything I would ask questions about if I just bought one.

Very helpful Gavin, makes it very straight forward for anyone trying to integrate these new versions with the older ones. So in your first video on these new batteries you mentioned that there is no longer a need for the hub, how would you connect the new version chargeverter to this setup and would it all communicate together like a closed loop system. Thanks again!

Thanks. Yes it communicates with both inverter and chargverter at the same time. I mentioned that towards the end of my last video on the V2. The chargeveter would connect to the rs486. The inverter to the CAN port.

@@GavinStoneDIY Quick question, I just received a V2 version battery and I'm topping it off with the newer chargeverter, two things, while charging the battery it doesn't indicate with a blinking SOC that its charging, I verified current is going into the battery. And 2nd with the battery comm cable connected between the battery and chargeverter it does not show state of charge on the chargeverter, it indicates LOST. It's the first time using both and have the chargeverter connected to grid. thanks

@@Rock_Nemo the battery indicator lights don’t blink like the older version. The run light does though. The coms cable should work fine. Make sure you have it plugged into the rs485 port on the battery.

Good video as usual Gavin. Now one more layer of complexity is what do you do if you have an LL battery as the master, a new LifePower 4 V2 battery and the old LifePower 4 battery?
@GavinStoneDIY
@GavinStoneDIY 14 дней назад
Which version of the LL batteries?
@bhbaker220
@bhbaker220 14 дней назад
@@GavinStoneDIY Version 2 LL’s.
@GavinStoneDIY
@GavinStoneDIY 14 дней назад
@@bhbaker220 it depends on how many of the lifepowers I had vs the LL’s. As of right now one of them wouldn’t have communication, you’d have to pick one. The other battery can still be connected to the busbar, and it will charge and discharge with the rest of the pack. It just wouldn’t have battery communication.

My issue is I have three v2’s and one v1 lifepower4 batteries. I can flip dip switch six under protocol down and then it will talk to v1 batteries but then looses the v2’s. It’s almost like either or.
@GavinStoneDIY
@GavinStoneDIY 14 дней назад
That shouldn’t be the case. Is the V1 the final battery in the run?
@joshhartin78
@joshhartin78 14 дней назад
@@GavinStoneDIY yes I have it set to 4 I also tried it on the first battery and the third. Just not making any sense to me.
@GavinStoneDIY
@GavinStoneDIY 14 дней назад
@@joshhartin78 sounds like it may be a dip switch setting is off. Have you gotten with EG4 yet?
@joshhartin78
@joshhartin78 14 дней назад
@@GavinStoneDIY I’m with you it’s got to be a dip switch issue. I called SS support earlier today, but they just said they’re trying to work out the kinks and said I should just leave the v1 battery alone for a while. lol I do have a communication hub I might try to see if I can do some kind of combination to make it work. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sounds like a hot mess. They should have figured this out before selling these. Thank you for explaining all this. You are doing what they should be doing!
