How to connect any floor pedal to Loopy Pro 

My brain 🧠 rest took 3 more months. Being older not growing up with computers has challenges for me. Again I’m attempting to learn Loopy Pro and interface.

I totally get it! I've spent a few days to figure out how this works

​I know that loopy pro is amazing I have been trying to hook up firstly a TS mega then a Voice live 2 to control loopy via midi . I find it overwhelming and I'm considering just getting a simple loop pedal what in your opinion is the simplest way to use loopy with a pedal is it a MIDI pedal plus an interface? .​@@max_yar_guitar

To my mind the simplest way is acoustic guitar + headphones)) So, it depends on how you want to use the looper and what gear you already have

I have the midi captain and I’m having a hard time getting it to midi learn loopypro. I’m using it in geek mode and setting switches to cc commands and when I midi learn a quick tap it says hold command 🤷‍♂️. It’s probably my lack of midi knowledge but I haven’t figured it out yet

It's not just Loopy pro that I would like to control and I have no idea which controller to get. But as I say, Morningstar mc8 is not so easy to find here in Germany and it is double the cost anyway. So I may have a go with the Paintaudio. Would really appreciate if you come up with some solutions for this controller to make a video about it - I'm subscribed!

Hey! This was exactly the question I had before. I also have two pickups on my guitar. First, I bought the HX Stomp because it has two input channels and a pretty flexible routing. But there is a limitation - only 8 FX blocks per preset. I didn't like the PC option. But the option with the iPhone/iPad appealed to me. Essentially, all you need is a good audio interface that works with iPhone/iPad. In the Loopy Pro Users group, this is often discussed. Among the favorites there are interfaces like RME, Zoom, Arturia MiniFuse 4, Motu M6, Behringer Flow 8. In the group, you can read reviews specifically about working with iOS and latency issues. I personally still use HX Stomp with iOS because it can work as an audio interface. But my friend uses the IK Multimedia iRig Pro Quattro and is very satisfied. They have a version for 2 channels - IK Multimedia iRig Pro Duo. I plan to shoot a separate video for guitarists about transitioning from hardware FX pedals to iOS plugins. I'll be happy to take your questions for this video

My conclusions: + compact and very inexpensive; there is a built-in battery (convenient) + connects via USB-C; in this mode it works perfectly without lags + connected by air - it works with micro-lags by air, but it's not cool for recording loops; ok for switching effects - the buttons are very tight, and the sound from pressing them is very loud - my microphone inside the guitar catches it very well

Most likely, the midi controller only sends CC value 127 (press) and does not send CC value 0 (release). Therefore, Loopy Pro thinks you pressed the pedal and hold. You can adjust the midi controller itself. Or you can change Hold to On manually in Loopy Pro. To do this, simply press Hold, in the MIDI Learn mode after you triggered the footswitch

I bought a used iPhone for $40 just to use Loopy Pro, and have no regrets. Unfortunately, Android is really tough for a small developer to work on while maintaining high standards. There are just too many thousands of versions out there. I only use Android, other than my Loopy dedicated old iPhone.

@@anthonywestbrook2155 Anthony. Well said. Although I use Apple 🍎 products you’ve made an excellent point. I had an old lightning port iPad I dedicated for Loopy Pro. When my family upgrades phones I will wipe them for resale on Craigslist. Selling them for $20 to $180 depending on memory in excellent condition. I would recommend this for a dedicated low cost looper.
