Hi, I am really confused with your links... I have smallrig magnetic adaptors that came with the DJI osmo action kit. The one in your videos has no progs sticking out to connect the coldshoe adaptor, yet the amazon link shows the ones with the prongs, same as the DJI. can I get a coldshoe adapter to fit to those prongs? I have a Neewer CM28 mic setup? Thanks Les
The magnetic mounts you get from DJI are different to the SmallRig mounts. The SmallRig ones have a 1/4 screw and two flaps that you can use to attach to a GoPro mount. You put the flaps down and then screw the newer cold shoe on to the top. Then if you use the case that comes with the action 3/4 then you can attach your cold shoe to it when your using it
Hi mate, thanks for the vlog, however I unlike you don't have the Rode wireless Me but the original wireless Go from a few years back and from what I'm seeing on RU-vid or reading is that the USB C to USB C won't work with that particular model so which solution would you recommend for my setup ? cheers Jim
@@VlogTechVibesHi James, I'm considering buying the DJI Osmo Action 4 as in a recent trip to Caernarfon somebody swiped my GoPro 8, the Rode wireless Go original model works great connected with the red trs male to trs male cable when attached to my GH5 or Nikon cameras and with the GoPro media mod but the DJI action cams don't have a trs socket instead using only USB C so I wondering if there's a simple cable solution that would allow me to use my old Rode Go mic, O and I'm living in the UK
Action 4 looks good! I’m weighing up whether to get that or the Pocket 3 that’s coming out next week (or a self flying drone I’ll never use ha!) You should be able to connect using a usb C to 3.5mm audio Jack and then a TRRS to TRS with the TRS going into your Wireless GO
Hi mate me again. im having an absolute nightmare. so i got the lavlier rode go mic for my action 3 got the adapter didnt work ive tried another adpater hasnt worked. so i thought let me order a shot gun mic (movo vxr10 pro) its just turned up ive plugged it in to the action 3 using the 3.5 adapter and the lead provided with mic that says one end into camera and one end into microphone still doesnt work. so then i use the other lead that came with the mic the one that says one end is smartphone and other end camera and it works ? surely im meant to use the lead that says camera to mic and not smartphone & mic. im so confused and i still cant get the lavalier mic to work which i spent £60 on. i feel like the amount ive spent i should have just got a dji mic for 200 or so lol
If you’re using it with a shotgun mic you’ll need to plug the TRRS end into the adapter and the TRS end into the shotgun mic. One has 3 rings on int TRRS and the other has 2 TRS
@VlogTechVibes I've done this mate and it shows the mic but it doesn't move. The only way I have got it to work where it's actually letting me speak into my and it's working is by using trrs to trrs and it works fine that's why I'm so confused I just don't know what to do
@@VlogTechVibesthe lav mic I can't get working at all. The only way shot gun mic is working is by using the trrs to ttrs cable and the adapter of course. But the way you do it in ur video isn't working ?
Hi, me mithering again....I have a neewer CM28 mic set... I connected by the show and everything looks cool. However, I cannot connect the mic receiver to the DJI Osmo action 3. Ive connected with a usb type c 9in both ends) and connected as you have. I am just not receiving any signal into the DJI... Any idea's? Thanks Les
@@VlogTechVibes I don't have one... I was just hoping I could do it the way you have as i have one of them and the Neewer has a port the same as the Rode. How would I connect the TRS cable to the DJI???
You have the same cable I have in the video? The rode TRS to TRRS cable? The TRS is the black end and the TRRS is the grey end of the cable. If you have that cable you need to plug the grey end into the usb-c adapter and then plug the black end into your microphone. If you don't have that cable then you'll need to get one to be able to use the microphone.
@@VlogTechVibes I have to buy some... I would though it would of worked the way yours does with the usb type c to usb type c... Never mind, I'll have to buy those leads and adaptor... Thanks for the advise Les
@@lespaul3717 Ah so you were trying to connect it USB-C to USB-C. Maybe try update the firmware. I think it'll be a bit hit and miss with the USB-C to USB-C connections tbh. The Hollyland Lark M1 and the Rode Wireless go II or Wireless ME worked, but with those ones they can be attached like that whereas some microphones aren't designed to be attached like that. I was just having a look at the product description on amazon and says it comes with a OTG adapter? Try plug it into the DJI Action 3 using that maybe and see if that works. If not I'd just go for the TRS to TRRS cable
@@davechanofficial5335 from memory it comes with both a TRS to TRRS cable and a TRS to TRS cable. I’m not sure if it comes with a usbc to usbc but I’m sure it’ll say in the product description on Amazon. They have a new version as well now which has even smaller mics, look nice and discrete
Nice job! I returned my GoPro 11 last week, and already miss the case mod. My biggest gripe with USB adapters is they are not all made with compatible pinout on the 3.5mm end. Can you add which one you're using to your description?
What about the Action 4? You can connect the DJI mic 2 to it via Bluetooth. Rode Lav mics are pricey! If you want a cheaper option go for the Sony ecm lv1. Should all work fine, just don’t get the smart Lav plus as that one is just designed for iPhone / Android
@VlogTechVibes thanks for reply mate im looking on curry's and the action 3 is on sale for 209£ and from the comparison videos I've seen the action 3 still looks really good the rode lav go mic 3.5mm jack mic im going for is £59 and watch reviews and seems pretty awesome I just wanted to check with you that if I buy the adapters will the rode mic deffo work with the action 3? I would get action4 but just want to start a channel going on pov bike rides so wanna keep spending low to start with Regards Dan
Yeh the Action 3 is still good. Nice and Rugged. Maybe go for a shotgun mix instead if your cycling. A lav mic is going to pic up a lot of noise and you’re not going to be able to do much with the wind on it. You can get the Boya / Movo shotgun mics for £20-£25 ish. But the mic will work with the usb-c adapter. Because the USB-c to 3.5mm normally takes a TRRS cable it might not work. In my video I’m plugging in a shotgun mic using a TRRS to TRS cable which is why the audio is working.
@VlogTechVibes I see my pal does the same thing as I want to he uses the lav rode mic with wind muff and go pro and it sounds really good hardly picks up wind tbh. I could try the shot gun mics u recommend but if I just buy usb c to 3.5 jack and plug the lav mic in will it work with the action 3 ? Just need to no that before I buy the camera and then I'll also buy the shotgun mic u recommended and see which one works best. I appreciate your replies man 👍
Great video thanks ! Wich cable you recomend for the osmo action and lark m1 mic it's diffrent from yours ? I saw some are working others not...any idea ? :) Thanks
