Hi, so if my tv (LG C2) support Dolby Atmos itself (HDMI 2.1), can I then or should I then plug the Apple TV to the TV at first, and then the TV to my Dolby Atmos (samsung hw-q700a) soundbar?
By this method, do your tv necessarily support eArc? My tv is not eArc, so will i get atmost output directly connected apple 4k to soundbar? Thanks in advance
Hello, I am looking to buy the JBL Bar 9.1 but I want to know if I put a Fire tv stick 4k in the 'HDMI in' of my soundbar and connect a projector through 'HDMI (eARC)' out of my soundbar to 'HDMI in (without ARC/eARC)' of my projector and use netflix on my Fire stick, will it show atmos support for supported content? Please reply. This is greatly going to influence my purchase decision.
Hey man. Great video. JBL 9.1 has only one HDMI input right. So if you have to use a cable connection like airtel dth and all, would you directly input the dth connection to the tv? If you do that will the sound still come from the soundbar?
Just bought the LG CX 77". I plan to run a Roku Streaming + Stick to it and get a sound bar. Hoping you could help me with best way to connect everything. Figured I should use the eARC port on TV and soundbar, but how does the Roku stick figure into the mix. How would you connect all the components for best pic/sound? Thanks in advance for your help!
I have the LG CX 65" with JBL 9.1 soundbar. I connected the Roku Ultra to the TV via HDMI eARC and soundbar to the TV with a high quality hdmi cable The soundbar plays ATMOS content from streaming services like Netflix (from the Roku) You might need to mess with the sound settings on the TV. Make sure the eARC option is on for the TV.
dolby atmos on streaming service is still heavily compressed due to the fact it's steaming to u @ 25 Mb/s , get ur 4k physical disk if you want real quality @ 92Mb/s single layer & 144 Mb/s for dual layer bluray..
Because his TV display doesn’t support dolby vision. Setting up Apple TV 4K doesn’t mean that you are going to get dolby vision and atmos your tv display and your speaker should also has to be compatible with vision and atmos. If he unplugs the JBL 9.1 soundbar from his setup then dolby atmos option will also disappear from the settings of Apple TV 4K
Help me out bro. Is this the right setup for earc dolby atmos. I will use Apple tv 4k output to jbl 9.1 bar then from that output to Xiaomi Projector(1080p)

I have an apple 4K Tv and I have a Sony A8H oled tv. I just purchased a Sony HT Z9F Sony soundbar. Do I have to connect my my Apple 4K tv directly to my soundbar?
I need your urgent help! Its hard for you to answer. Apple TV 4K and JBL 9.1 when streaming regular 5.1 audio it displays PCM instead of Dolby Surround DD+. Why? If I try my Samsung ARC tv with JBL the Netflix app on a regular 5.1 audio shows Dolby Surround DD+ whereas Apple TV 4K Netflix on 5.1 audio shows PCM. Btw the Dolby Atmos plays and reads properly on the Apple Tv 4K.
try resetting jbl speaker… turn off wifi router… hard reset jbl (power/input hold for 10sec)… turn on wifi router and connect jbl to wifi). had same issue and it works now. i have appletv4k to sony a8g oled tv >arc to jbl 9.1.

Hi, I have a fire tv stick 3rd Gen and tivo 4k which both of them are support Netflix dolby atmos content, however, as I connect any one of them to the hdmi in and play Netflix dolby atmos content which I can see the dolby atmos logo was shown and the dolby atmos audio was selected, my jbl 9.1 display "dolby surround' instead of "dolby atmos" why???? Didi anyone have the same issue??? my sound bar will display "dolby atmos" when playing blue ray disc with dolby atmos from the ps4.
Yeah just download atoms demo video to you Mac or your computer which is connected to same wifi network and add that video to Apple TV app on ur Mac or computer
@@JustForFunWithCJ hello bro, what you mean by, add that video to apple TV app ? Or is it possible to connect an external HDD to apple TV box ? and play from that ?

Please check whether your TV supports eARC or just ARC. You need eARC for dolby atmos and DTS X. If that's not available then you may either upgrade the TV to one with eARC or buy Amazon firestick 4k.
@@mrpraveen3110 Firestick 4K don't do Dolby Atmos except 1 movie gulabo n sitabo...no Dolby Atmos in Netflix or apple TV...waste of money... Apple TV 4K is the only device...that actually support Dolby Atmos for all apps🙏🏻
@@pratipx Nope.. I dont think thats correct. There are many dolby vision contents in netflix and there are some series that support dolby atmos as well. Lot of them. I watch that every day. Amazon prime has limitedcontent for sure. DO search and you will get the list of titles.
You are wrong. Hdmi 2.0 cable will not pass through lossless dolby atmos. What you hear is just a compressed audio. May be you feel it sounds great. One got to Use a high quality hdmi 2.1 from apple tv to soundbar and another cable from soundbar to tv arc. Another funny thing I noticed is selecting 4K SDR!!!!. baby why should we choose SDR while HDR feature is present. Since your connection methods and cables gone wrong I think you settled with the SDR for better view. And finally, wow we should look at the position of the soundbar.. Placed just under the TV unit. My dear friend how the upfiring speakers on jbl will send the atmos signals to the ceiling for bouncing back to create an immersive atmos feel .. You are extremely kidding.
on tcl 8 series 2019, dolby vision actually looks really washed out on apple 4k tv. for some reason i cannot explain - the 4k SD "actually" looks like what Dolby vision on other tvs, such as LG c1 OLED. I tryed this vise versa on my LG and 4k SD looks TERRIBLE and apple 4k dolby vision matched the tv's dolby vision
@@suvajitadak3895 yes sir.. Please ensure that you are using the latest cable that supports hdmi 2.1.. I' have Samsung 950a with the set up I mentioned. It is sounding awesome. Also if your TV supports earc you don't require an apple TV box.. One cable from TV to soundbar is enough.. You may play all the channels from TV itself. Since my TV doesn't support earc I'm using Nvidia shield pro
@@marcrisale Yes you can. But your soundbar should have earc port. It goes like this to put it in a simple way.. apple TV is the source. Audio and video goes to soundbar first.. connect to the earc in soundbar.. soundbar retains the audio (Dolby Atmos in this case) and then pass through the video to TV from another cable from soundbar to TV. That's it
There’s is no Atmos available through Netflix on the 4K fire stick , I’ve also tried Disney + and amazon prime and streamed Atmos content and still receiving Dolby surround only 🤔
Hi My TV does have only HDMI ARC, I heard ARC cannot deliver True Dolby Atmos, then how can Apple 4K TV deliver Dolby Atmos since My TV doesnt have eARC HDMI ?
You have to connect it directly to your sound bar. Then connect your sound bar to your TV. Your sound bar will get tje dolby atmos while passing through the video signal (assuming your bar supports these features)
Hello! remember me? quick questions for JBL 9.1 / Apple TV 4K streaming / Samsung ARC NU7090. Ok so have has your experience been so far with Dolby Atmos using Apple TV 4K and JBL 9.1? so many people talking about the audio drop outs and issues with eARC tv. Btw my current Samsung tv is ARC and this year I want to buy an eARC tv! I am afraid since I dont want the soundbar and apple tv to fail. Can you give me best settings, installation, glitch fixes for the JBL? upon setting it up whjat are the first things I have to do with the Wi Fi and Calibration? I stream Netflix, Disney +, and Itunes movies for Dolby Atmo fyi. Please help me! its an expensive system and its a big deal for me.
@@JustForFunWithCJ Hello team! I just got the JBL 9.1 today and have been testing it for 2 hours appx! So I calibrated the rear speakers first on the tip of my bed and the second calibration with the rears permanently connected to micro usb cables flushed against the wall (just behind my bed) they are like 4.8 ft from the floor altitude level. The Bass I tested in the middle of my bedroom against the wall and then just besides my bed with the subwoofer against the wall. So here are my observations and questions so far: 1.) I am still yet to feel any Atmos overhead sensation (I tried Ready Player One, 6 Underground, RU-vid Amaze and Leaf Dolby Trailers, Thor Ragnarok, Dark the raining episode 2, and also the Dolby Atmos Demos on the Apple Tv 4K app) I do feel the cool sound but not much overhead. I am playing at volume 18-20 appx. I already connected to Google Wifi and all is updated. Regarding the Bass mmmm I have tried it between 3-5 and honestly I just feel the rumble when in volume 5. Beneath 5 sometimes I dont feel i that much even though I have changed it to 2 different places. Got 3 questions! 1.) How do I know when to update the Soundbar and do the Rear Speakers must be attached to the soundbar to update? When I turn on the soundbar how do I know the rear speakers are ON or Charging? I see a Red Dot (remember I will have them plugged in micro usb cables 24/7). 2.) Am I doing something wrong with the Bass? Do I have to calibrate the soundbar every time I move the Subwoofer to test places? 3.) I am open to suggestions to enhance the sound! My room is 5x4 meters and like 10-12 ft ceiling high from the Soundbar.

Right now I have my HDMI Cable from my AppleTV connected direct to my TV. Are you saying I need to unplug it from my TV and plug it directly into my soundbar instead? How will I then use my soundbar through my TV when I’m just watching TV and not using AppleTV? Through Bluetooth? Or will I need to run a 2nd cable from my soundbar to my TV?

So just to clarify, if I have JBL 9.1 and Apple TV 4k, I don't need a 4k TV with arc support right? Since Apple TV outputs Atmos, I will still be able to enjoy Atmos if connected as shown?
@@JustForFunWithCJ Cool. However, there are soundbars that doesn’t support Atmos (thru HDMI IN without eARC) when connected as shown in the video. So the only way to do it is ATV > TV > Soundbar. But good thing JBL’s HDMI IN supports Atmos :)

Hi my Apple TV its conected to soundbar and I have a problem My remote controller from JBL 9.1 it’s on this same frequency as Apple TV remote , so when I watch movie and I’m trying to change volume or Atmos volume or rear speakers volume it keeps stops my movie and pressing lots of deferent option on the Apple TV Can someone help where is the problem ?
That’s because you’re changing the sound profile and it briefly loses connection via hdmi it’s not an issue. Set then profiles before you watch or just deal with it. Lasts only a second. Plus volume adjusts the sound bar from the Apple TV remote or the JBL remote while connected. Which is what it’s supposed to do.. idk what else you’d be adjusting while you are using the sound bar lol
@@padgettga it’s definitely compatible, most of the people aren’t very intelligent and don’t have the proper setup or aren’t plugging it into the Arc/eArc port or their tv doesn’t have it. Make sure to do your research before purchasing.
I have done all this. I noticed though, when playing a Dolby Atmos video from Netflix, the soundbar display now says "Dolby Atmos Multi-Ch PCM" and not just "Dolby Atmos" as it did before. Anyone else noticed that?
@Paresh Prajapati It depends. What are you trying to watch? What streaming service are you using? What hardware are you streaming from? If your setup is your TV and your soundbar connected to the TV and thats it, then you need to be sure, that your TV supports Dolby Atmos passthrough. My own TV doesnt support Dolby Atmos, so I have my Apple TV4K connected to the soundbar and then the soundbar connected to the TV and with that setup, I get Dolby Atmos, when streaming from Netflix and Disney+.
