Hi Jordan, I am a big fan of your series of videos. You are very informative, so I appreciate all your hard work making these videos. I have the Mackie ProFXv3 Series, 10-Channel Professional Effects Mixer with USB, and it's connected to my Roland TD-30 drum module, and I currently have the output being sent to 1 Yamaha DXR-12 monitor. I live in a small garden home, with next door neighbours, and this speaker is way to powerful for my small drum room. I was watching your video showing how to connect Dual 1/4 inch TS Mono Male Jacks to Dual RCA Male Audio Cables, and connecting the RCA cables to the Yamaha HS5 Studio monitors. I have an audiophile Pioneer A-77X stereo integrated amplifier, 100 watts per channel, frequency response 10Hz to 100kHz, connected to my paradigm monitor 7 v2 speakers, rated for 130 watts. Now I don't play my music very loud, but I would like to play my Roland TD-30 drums through my Mackie ProFXv3 10-Channel Mixer and through my Pioneer A-77X stereo integrated amplifier using the Dual TS 13.5" cable with dual RCA outputs, and connect the RCA cables to the AUX port on my Pioneer A-77X amplifier. Is this possible?
Thank you so much for your videos could you please explain how I would connect a subwoofer and be able to control the volume separately from the other speakers.
Great video Jordan, thanks! I was looking at all your videos, and couldn't find any that shows how to connect a smart TV sound to the Yamaha MG10XU in.. is there one that shows how ? thanks
Hi, great video, I understood a lot. If my mixer doesnt have a dedicated monitor output like the one you are showing, can I run my small monitors off the phone jack with a TRS to RCA cable?
Thank you for years of helpful content! Question, a little different scenario but I haven’t seen a video of yours yet for this…how would you connect a PA system to the MG10xu? And is there a way to aux feed the subs/would you even suggest that? Thanks a lot !
Hi, thank you so much all of your videos and it is very helpful guides to the church PA system. We bought as well same sound mixer Yamaha MG16XU. And I have a question I NEED YOUR HELP, we have a new DRUM MONITOR ROLAND PM100 and NEW EDRUMS ROLAND TD1DMK , How can I connect to soundmixer? Need your help. Please kindly check the module and specs of instrument and monitor . Thanks
Great video.. Do you think you could make a video on how to set gains on a wireless mic receiver that has a gain on transmitter and another gain knob on receiver. and the gain at the mixer.. which gain should be start with to calibrate.. thanks
Thank you, Jordan for this one! 👏🏻 One question, what is the difference of connecting home studio monitors to a monitor outputs vs speakers outputs, except the different management controls on the MG10XU? Would either one affect the output quality? I did not notice much difference... (I have two unballanced 1/4'' TS mixer outs to two monitor aux ins Today bought two TRS cables but did'n tried yet.)
Both outputs have the same quality, but you get independent volume control. If you're streaming with the MG10XU (for example), you may want to turn your personal monitors up/down to hear different things without changing the main mix
How is there not feedback when you plug your jacks in while the speakers are on, is that because of that better quality jack/cable? I have some loudspeakers being fed from a mixer from a laptop and I get terribly loud and damaging feedback. Any thoughts? Speakers are newer.
Thank you for a great tutorial, but I have a Mackie profx12v3 . There is only one Monitor out line. If I want to run 2 monitor speakers . How can I? Could you please give me an idea . Thanks in advance.
hello...my name is Vinny... i have been watching several of your videos... they have been very helpful... however, i am having a problem with my speaker hook up... i am using a Pyle 4 channel mixer.. 2 Samson Q2U mic & Samson powered speakers...i am using unbalanced cables to connect the mixer to the speakers.... they are 3 feet length when everything is hooked up all i get is static ... can you help.... thank you ... I’m trying to run four top and two subs to my DJ controller and I want to implicate a Yamaha MG/2 mixer two operate the mid highs separately from the subs and I don’t know the connections in order to adjust the high Lows independently is it possible?
That was very interesting and I appreciate it 100%, it seems like everything I've learned in music is learned off the people that have already done it so I appreciate it thank you very much I was able to understand everything that's very important thank you
Can you plug in a dj controller with XLR outs into a live mixer. I hears that you could even fried your mixer or controller if by any mistake you press phanton power.. is it safe to use dj controller outputs into the xlr inputs of a band mixer
@Dj Gabriel Ferretti I Connect my controller to any of my mixers (I have the Yamaha mg12xu and Mackie ProFx12 v3) in most of my events for MC purpose as I can apply effects to the voice of singers during karaoke time. I turn on the phantom power as I run 2 sets of mics as I use a condenser mic for DJ Stage/boot and a set of 4 dynamic mics for karaoke and I have never had any issues.
How many Watt of monitor can be the best to connect with Audio Mixer Yamaha MG10xu for full band playing ? For an example: 2 mic, 2 keyboard, 2 guitar, drums, … Show me please tks.
Hey there so I want use my monitor speakers with my mg10xu when I am on teams or Skype calls is what is the best way to set this up without getting feedback loop. Thanks
Thank you for all you do! Got a question that may need a video. Im wanting to livestream a mixing session, which would require my microphone audio as well as audio from my daw. I have a studiolive 32sc as my digital mixer and ableton as my daw. I use obs to stream.
My mixer (PMP500 Behringer) only has 2 TRS outputs: Output A (main left/monitor) and Output B (main right/mono). How can I connect two main passive Speakers + 1 monitor speaker?
Hello. I wanted to ask your for informazioni. I have the mixer soundtation vivo 20ufx mkll, i have for auxsends in wich i can connect the various spies. I wanted to connect more spies boxes is it possible ti do It?. I tank you infinitely for your availability
Hi thanks for the video! great stuff. quick question though -> i want to connect my A&H Xone22 with my Yamaha HS8. so the Xone 22 has either Master Output XLR or Monitor Output 1/8 inch. Yamaha as shown in your video also XLR and TRS 1/4 inch. Is there a preferable way of connecting these two? I could use XLR Master Out into XLR or TRS Yamahas, or 1/8 with a patch to 1/4 into XLR or TRS Yamahas ... which one is better or preferable? Looking forward to your answer, thank you so much =) ! cheers
Thanks for this. I was wondering what the alternative would be for Monitor Out ports. I use an analog mixer with 4 Aux Send quarter inch ports and I was told they could be used instead. Is this true?
...if so how could they be connected. We already have XLR cables going from our mixer through a snake down to a bunch of XLR ports at the back of our stage.
Here's what I want: three separate monitor systems routed thru my brand new Mackie "14 channel" vlz4 mixer. I have really good desktop speakers with a sub, a pair of Kali powered studio monitors and a pair of Cerwin-Vega 8-inch bookshelves powered by an old Pioneer receiver. I want to be able to have an A, B, C comparison AND maybe run all three systems simultaneously.
I have a problem, when I record something in fl studio and make a drum and when I want to record my keyboard via usb mixer it records the sound heard in that case is the drum and my korg keyboard
You could connect one set to the stereo output and a second set to the monitor output. Or you could get something like Mackie's Big Knob to manage both sets of monitors.
@@kettnercreative thanks! I just got me a mackie mix 5. But kinda new to all this setting up. Normally i just connect speakers to my controller that has rca, but wanted to go a little bit bigger with the sound.
Sir, there is no clear cut explanation of how to connect studio monitors in the audio mixer and record the sound to DAW(computer) and hear the sound from the DAW, expecting reply please.
1) Yamaha doesn't make an F1 (sg.yamaha.com/en/products/contents/proaudio/counterfeit/index.html) That's a counterfeit product. 2) Yes you can. You can use the stereo outputs and connect to the RCA input of your home theatre amp.
how do you do if you only have 1 speaker I'm using the Behringer B215D and has only 1 input - 1/4" and xlr... how do I get stereo sound? or full sound on only 1 speaker? goin out from a M-Audio Mtrack 2x2 coming from a Behringer Xenyx X2222usb. Thanks
Hi, I have a new Yamaha MG10XU, everything in it seems to be working except that when I record video into an Android smartphone, the effects wont be recorded, only the raw signal. I've tried all the outputs (Mains, Monitor and Effects Out) but still no effects. I followed the connections in one of your videos using the TRRS splitter from the phone and TRS to 1/4 inch (mono) splitter. Please help.
Hi i have a issue that maybe someone can give me a helping hand.Currently i have a samsung tv with a samsung sound bar connected by fiber optics .I purchase a yamaha MG10XU mixer with bose L1 speakers. As of right now the mixer and the speakers are working perfect for karaoke which is connected to my mac book. Here is my issue ,how to i mirror the mac book to my tv with sounds comin from the Bose? when i direct connect with HDMI or Airplay the sound will come out my sound bar and not the mixer and Bose set up for karaoke. Please help?
@Son832 Sounds like you have the mirroring going ok from Mac to TV and what you need is to connect the output of your TV to the mixer and disconnect your Mac from the mixer (possible change some settings on your TV to not duplicate sound to your Samsung speakers or turn them off) then of course your XLR or TRS output to your speakers and that should work. I hope that's helpful
I’ve plugged my speakers into my audio mixer and my mic sound comes out of my headset and speakers but anything I try to play on my pc doesn’t come out of my headset or speakers, can someone please help
😂question please , where do i connect if i have 2 stage floor power speakers monitors . And last question what is the send aux on the top part of those ouputs monitor
