I would add this advice: Front Panel connectors are usually a bundle of thin connectors which usually make a nice block once hooked up correctly. Therefore, you can tape the headers tightly with electrical tape and that way they stay arranged correctly if you ever need to unplug them for whatever reason and easily plugged back in without a need for manual.

The reset switch is the hardest. because it has not positive + or negative - signs printed. In all other videos the names of all cables are inserted all facing one direction. Here the RESET SW is facing the opposite direction, The negative cable seems to be WHITE. The other videos have the reset backwards, here the reset makes sense.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you found this video helpful. Yes, it's good to know that your computer won't be damaged by plugging FPCs in the wrong way around. It's something that I believe many worry about, but isn't a problem. Some FPCs can be damaging if they are plugged in the wrong way around such as the 24-pin so best to watch out for those ones.

Positives are indicated by a plus or an arrow. That’s all I needed. Best video 10/10

Thank you! Your comment that the arrowhead means it's the positive side has been very helpful..... I imagine it's probably just assumed that most people know this, but I was lost as my case's manual hadn't pointed this out!

Finally someone who knows what the arrow meant I had connected all my cords using the knowledge that my LED's top cord was positive and assumed all other cords followed the same pattern.... I was right but it was super worrying thank you so much now i can actually turn on my PC.

I'm still in the buying stages of building my PC, and my case is coming tomorrow. I have this crappy 13 year old motherboard, so I want to make sure I can get the case running ahead of time. Good video.

Thank you very very much, i did not want to risk damaging my first pc build and this saved me. I waited 2 days to look and found your video on google. my problem was that it did not had positive or negative marking and you confirmed by talking about the arrow being positive, thank you

Super nice idea for a short tutorial on this part of motherboard connections, I know this is an older post but so many so called tutorials on pc building never really cover this most important part of the installation. Thanks for a real clear instructional on how to properly do this.

Brilliant video and a clear explanation of the tricky subject of front panel connections. Good clear diction without the need for the usual crappy music accompaniment. My Foxconn board only shows numbers 1 to 10 with no + or - symbols and no manual. This video is the only one i've found that provides an explanation that helped me cross reference with success. I'm most grateful thanks.

Thank you very much for this video. The first time I disassembled/assembled a computer in class (basically yesterday), that was my first mistake. I should have taken notes more carefully and as a result, I was trying to figure out how to connect those connectors for hours. Again, thank you very much. It really helped.
