Sorry for very very off topic, but this video just popped into my recommended and WOW I haven't seen you for like 5 years. Glad you're still going strong and as always thank you for being a very helpful youtuber!

Hell Yeah! This was a lot easier than the other options I saw and attempted. With less hassle and good design. No need to install two different software from various websites. Straight to the point and easy to set up. Thanks for the video. Hopefully more people will find this.

It works well, but i'm kinda scared about the glowing home button lol. Didn't know the joycon could do it.

This one was a really good tutorial! Unlike some others, you explain the step of installation of the ViGEMBus drivers. Also, since I experienced some issues trying to install the program from other tutorials, here is some advice to anyone that tried doing that (or installing it by themselves) -Even though there are more modern versions, the one that this guy used might best as the most recent version (as of the time I am typing this) has issues on popping up the window for JoyCons. -If you accidentally install a more recent, or another version of the ViGEMBus drivers, and must uninstall it to install another version (or if you were installing them and something went wrong in the installation), you can uninstall the driver by looking up ViGEM Bus Driver in Apps and Features (in Windows 10). HOWEVER, if that does not give you any results, you may still find it with another name, as the name shown for ViGEM in Apps and Features is different depending on the version of the driver [I know this because when I tried deleting it once, looking up ViGEM did not work). If you cannot find it, scroll trough all of the list. Find it by looking at the image of a green controller. -Once you actually installed all the stuff and everything went fine: Your computer, or the program that you want to use the Joycons with might not show up anything on "Wireless Gamepad" or "Xbox 360 Controller". If "Wireless Gamepad" does not work, try with "Xbox 360 Controller". If you are not sure which one your computer detects as "connected", you can look for "setup USB game controllers" in your search bar. There, you can then go to the "properties" of both of them and see which one your computer detects (what I mean is: Go to test under "properties", and there, try rotating the motion stick. If the thing moves, then that is the one. If not, try with the other controller option.) I hope that helped anyone facing any issues like the ones I faced during my journey.

So I'm using the joycons for a 2 Player Geometry Dash level and while I can separate them, the left one doesn't have a jump button assigned to it. Any ideas? Edit: The left joy-con needs to be linked to the up arrow key control wise.

The lights on the joycons keep flickering and searching to sync. The windows thing says they're connected, but the right joycon isn't lighting up to say it's synced.

I keep getting an "unhandled exception has occurred" error when trying to open BetterJoy, and the dev closed the github post where someone asked how to fix this with no explanation, so he seems like an unhelpful chode. Any solutions? Edit: Turns out through trial and error that I had the wrong version installed for my computer. And to connect a Pro Controller you need to go to "Add Controllers", move your controller by clicking the right arrow, and then change type to Pro Controller. Why nobody has mentioned this in a video is beyond me.

So i did this exact thing and it's all well and good, but my right joycon now (seemingly) permanently has an LED light on behind the home button. Resyncing it to my Switch did nothing, and even removing the device from my laptop's Bluetooth devices didn't do anything. It's just a white light, always on. I cannot find anything about this, only people having issues with lights not turning on at all, nothing about a light being STUCK on. Any ideas about this? Possible fixes?

mine connect but then disconnect and swap from connected to paired in bluetooth settings, why does this happen?

Does anyone know why my pc can't detect the right Joycon? Left one is found instantly, and works great, but I want to play a game that require both joycons, and my pc can't seem to even find the right joycon when scanning for Bluetooth devices for some reason

Only works if I have a single joycon. If I connect two, it has like 3 second input lag :/

connecting is easy, im having problem in reconnecting them when they are already paired, like when i try to connect them next day or after i turn on my PC they just don't connect, i have to manually remove them from my devices and add time again, and for some reason left joycon refuse to get removed from my devices and i cannot connect to it, is there any good solution for this?

When using certain programs with BetterJoy, the Xbox game bar glitches in and out and i have to turn the controller off to fix it.

It worked, but when I turn on the joycons again, I can't reconnect them to the pc. Do I have to unlink/link them every time I want to play in pc?

I need some help if anyone can. I'm having an issue on whichever joy-con I collect last, it has a pretty big delay, but the first one I connect works perfectly fine. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I did everything in the video, everything was saem for me, joy con is lightened up, it shows them connected everywher but even when I turn on final fantasy XIV and do anything the controller just doesnt work and nothing happens in the game... plase help...

I know this video is old, but I'm running into a few different issues (an error on launch, but I can hit continue). at first no controllers at all were showing up, and I managed to fix that, but the joycons still aren't! (if they are, they have numbers instead of proper names. i've tried selecting these to see if that's the case, but they still won't show up in the little locate boxes no matter what I do). Any advice? I'm hoping to get a pro controller at some point but this is what I've got to work with for now.

first time i set it up, i can use it easily and play game with my 2 joycon (left & right) as 1 controller and the light on home button is on. but in the next day i pair again, it doesnt work. i dont know whats wrong.

Umm I'm very confused about keymapping, i want to use them as a regular controller in game but the keymapping feature doesn't have all the buttons needed..?

I'm using it with CEMU playing Zelda BOTW. I've been using PS4 controller with DS4 Windows. I wanted to try the Pro Controller but when I go forward Link goes back, when I go back Link goes forward. When I map the up & down backwards it does the same thing

Just a heads up: Steam can natively understand joy cons, even recognising two as one controller. Just go to settings and controller to check! I was having trouble with steam and betterjoy registering as two full controllers in a game.

So, Im super late but I use this and when i use the joycons it begins opening up every thing and clicking randomly on my desktop. Turns out my Joycon is now linked with my keyboard and mouse. How do I fix it and get it to stop clicking and typing everywhere? It even opens up a On screen keyboard..

Thanks mate. Everything is working like a charm and perfectly connected. Except my right joyCon acted like mouse device and Steam app started reacting to my clicks. I exited Steam but I can't seem to get the game (Just Dance) to react. Still connected but the game says controller is disconnected. Any fix?

i got it all set up correctly, but betterjoy automaticly mapped all my buttons on my joy-cons to match a xbox controller, and it seems to be no way to change it. what should i do?
