Can you use "Anker USB C to Dual HDMI Adapter, Compact and Portable USB C Adapter, Supports 4K@60Hz and Dual 4K@30Hz, for MacBook/LenovoYoga/Thinkpad, XPS, and More [macOS only Support SST Mode]" for this. I want to see, is anker hub's duel mode works with macbook air m1 or not!
Hi, how is that hub different from others? I have a dongle which lets me connect USB-C and also 1 HDMI cable at the same time, however, I can't connect 2 monitors at the same time... I have an old Mac monitor (Using USB-C) and 1 PC monitor (HDMI)... which I'm trying to connect to my Macbook Air Apple M1 2020
Thank you so much- really useful video. A few questions: 1) the hub says it supports M1 chip only- is it still ok to use? 2)as the years go buy and the OS upgrades, would this device work on the upgraded OS? thank you ever so much.
Is it possible that I can run a 4k display through a USB-c to DisplayPort adapter from my Macbook, then use this hub to add a second external display at 1080p?
It works, but I regret buying it. It requires your screen be recorded the whole time while using it. If a person is ok with that, then fine, but you can’t use Netflix. The screen goes black when trying to watch a movie. According to their site, you can only return it if unused and unopened.
Thanks so much for this video! Super helpful. I wonder if the software that comes with the adaptors what allows you to have those display settings to get rid of the monitor mirroring?
Just hook up a 1800R 1440p 34" wide screen gaming monitor with 144Hz refresh rate and PiP functionality with USB-C to DP1.4 cable. Problem solved at half the cost. Should you really want to go past the beyond, daisychain two of these monitors with DP1.4 cable.
When you hook up an external monitor can you be on one website on the laptop and another website on the external monitor? If not, how do I accomplish this? My macbook air is 2017...... Also, you said there is a link for older Macbook Air "up in the cards"....what is that? It was hard to understand what you said but it sounded like UP IN THE CARDS.......Thank You!
You paid $179.00 USD to Shenzhen Jichi Chuangda Technology Co., Ltd - I hope that is not fraud. And I dont like idea to install third party application from China) Who can guaranty that there are not malware inside?
Just got mine last week and it works great for my Macbook air M2 with 2 additional external monitors. My only concern installing this was the permission required to screen & system audio recording. Would help clarify why this is needed and any risk it opens up the computer to ! Since mine is new, I can say it works as advertised but only time will tell if the investment was worth it,
Hi, glad i came across your video. My husband has the M2 Macbook Air. I did some research and found i guess misleading information stating it only takes 1 external monitor. So i purchased the Macbook Pro M2 because i need at least 2 external monitors connected. I bought 2 adapters from amazon and 1 monitor isn't attaching. I think because the adapter is not strong enough? D you think thats the reason? Will this Kwumsy adapter work?
Hi, I'm using a Lenovo adapter model 40ay0090eu. I've watched many many videos, and I'm amazed by the simplicity with which everyone manages to install displaylink and make the magic appear. I'm using a mac air m1. Is there any way you can help me? I would be so grateful. Thanks in advance
Shane I really hope this works... I currently have my old laptop (Mid 2014 MBP) set up with HDMI to HDMI and Thunderbolt to HDMI to allow me to have two extended displays, but I want to use my M1 MBA and was gutted when I found out that it didn't support more displays.... So this H1 Hub is on order!! Fingers crossed. Thanks for the video... Darren
I bought one and it arrived a couple of days ago, now that I have time to install it, the unit doesn't power on when I plugin in the usb-c cable. I've tried plugin it in to a different usb-c on my MacBook Air as well as on another MacBook Pro and same thing. I've reached out to the sellers but no reply yet. Anything else experience this?
Cool video! I wonder if you could help me out? My 2020 MacBook air M1 has a broken display. Do you know of a way I could get an external monitor working with it without having access to the built - in screen?
I purchased and set up this product about a year ago. It has been working perfectly, and I love how easy it is to set up and use. Unfortunately, just the other day, I came into my office, and the fan on the Kwumsy device was screeching loudly. There has been no change to the device. I was able to jiggle the cords and stop the screech, but now the fan is really loud. Does anyone have any suggestions- I don't want to pay more money for something that was expensive to begin with.
It sounds like something is wrong with it. Did you contact Kwumsy? They are pretty responsive and I am hoping they sort it out for you. Just shoot a video of the noise and send it to them. Mine has some fan noise, but it's not loud enough to annoy me.
Will this power two 1920x1200 Dell U2415 monitors. These monitors are 'slightly' more than 1080p, at 5 Gbps data rate, I believe. I have a 2022 M2 MacBook Air.
Excuse me, I really need help... I did got a Macbook Air M1 and I use and extra monitor, plus I use a HUION drawing Tablet Kamvas 13, which also works as an extra monitor. So I was wondering, if your multiple external display would work on drawing tablets as well.... I really could use some advice.
check your finder and see if there's an SD card detected there. That' strange, mine showed up on the desktop. Do you have a security setting that blocks drives?
Great video! Quick question, do I need a HDMI USB hub or is it possible to run two displays from a USB C to HDMI cable and a USB C hub with an HDMI out connection?
Hey, so I bought a docking station for my M1 MacBook Air, and connected two external monitors, but it’s only allowing one to show up in my available displays. I tried changing out the HDMI cable but it hasn’t changed. Google is suggesting that the M1 MacBook Air only allows for one external monitor. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?
@@simonomotoso8312 I did not. I can connect both monitors to my work laptop (a windows) but not my MacBook Air, and only because I leave one HDMI plugged into the docking station and the other HDMI plugged directly into the laptop. I’m wondering if it’s the docking station, or a combination of the docking station and my MacBook Air.
Is there updated drivers for the IOS 13.2.1? I received the device today and the drivers are up to IOS 11. I know there were a few people here experiencing the same thing. I tried each drive that it had
What if you have the same type monitor and when you go to display settings your Mac only shows one of the monitors? Do i need to have 2 seperate brand monitors for my Mac to recognize both monitors at once?
I clicked yes, and then go can go into your computers privacy settings and adjust permission if need be. I'm pretty sure Quicktime will need permissions to screen capture on external monitors through the devices outputs. I'm not tech support for this, maybe contact the seller for more detailed info. @@KevinKowalik-i8u
Hi Shane, i wasn't able to get the same usb hub that you have, so i have purchased a Mokin 12 in one, but i can't get the two screens working only the one and apple telling me its not possible to have two screens connected? Any advice would be appreciated. Dale
Mine is still working strong I just did a follow up video about it recently. Sometimes with the M1 macs the security settings need to allow the program to run for it to work correctly.
A very informative demo and review, Shane. While I'm not a Mac user, I do appreciate the opportunity to learn what I can about them. Please keep the videos coming.
@@GeekyNerdyTechy not yet, I didn’t want to go down a worm hole of troubleshooting if there were updated drivers. I will try them today. I’m not a techy guy, so I was asking before I install unneeded drivers. Thanks!
You can plug your power supply into it and then through to your computer or just use the second USB port. Check the connection section it’s covered in the video.
This is so deceptive - - the worst aspect of RU-vid. There are many options for this kind of device. You don’t mention that at all you don’t mention that you are only showing the one that you are an affiliate for, and you don’t mention at the beginning this “solution” will cost you almost $200. Your title suggests that this is the only way to hook up multiple monitors, which is very deceptive. If you were honest about this, you would have started the video saying “because m1 MacBook Airs do not support multiple external monitors you will have to buy a specialized dongle. I’ll be showing you one of several that are available and just so you know from the outset of watching this they can cost $180… I’m showing you an example, one that I am an affiliate of and will make money off of the sale of this one… you can, of course shop around for others as well”
It says paid promotion on the screen through RU-vid's paid promotion tab, the links are disclosed as affiliate links in the pinned comment and description, and the product works. Complaining about these things or the price shows how thick some folks are. You want a magic and free air dongle that costs nothing to do something specialized? Good luck with that. This is a great post reflecting on how toxic the comment section is. Well done.
Hello, will this docking station allow me to run the Macbook Air (M2) closed while running two external monitors in extended mode or does it have to be open?
