longer videos can have more adds so i think some some fluff it out with lots of "hay guys how you doing" and "today where going to be doing what it already says in the title i found" ect ect
Simply perfect!!! Following your video, it took 15 minutes for me, a mechanical engineer, connect AWS EC2 to PuTTY. I wish all tutorials will be made like this. Thanks.
This was an excellent presentation. I am moving from AWS Lightsail to EC2 and was struggling a bit. You got me logged in first time in 4 minutes. Thanks!!!!!
I had installed Ubuntu on my windows OS. I have also used Ubuntu extension. Even I tried using VM. Nothing helped but this video. I was thinking, I would never be able to SSH into my EC2 instance. You are great Sir. This video has helped me a lot.
Fantastic and clear explanation - an online AWS tutorial stopped me in my tracks when it said "Windows users won't have SSH installed, but you can use something like PuTTY" and then proceeded to go ahead using SSH, leaving any Windows users dangling (at least those unfamiliar with PuTTY). This video fixed me up in, well, less than 5 minutes.
Glad we could set the record straight for you @ewomack! :D If you're interested, we just released a full course on our RU-vid channel about AWS essentials. You can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nCV6ywEYbjk.html.
I did this tutorial and I cant tell if it worked? it says- authenticating with public key"importedsshkey then says passphrase for key...did I do it right or no?
Holy crap! I heard his voice and immediately stopped slouching in my chair. Your voice conveyed such confidence that I knew this was going to be a good video well worth watching. It was. Thank you!
I can only say that this was lifesaving. Been wasting a lot of time on trying to figure out a way to do this. You sir deserve all the gold in the world.
I don't usually comment on youtube videos but I really wanted to say thank you so much!! Great job with the video your voice is super clear and easy to understand!!
This is the best tutorial I ever watched. Straight to the point with example that work from step one to the end. For a beginner as myself it is life savior. I would give you 1000 liks if it was only possible.
Nice tutorial, very well explained and straightforward. Came here to encourage people to stay away from Putty and save yourself the headaches. If you are on Windows 10 you could just install the standard SSH tool, and connect to your instance with the .pem key, with the same ssh command you'd use for a Linux or Mac.
@@knowledgelover2736 don't think you ever need to install after all. Windows 10 should include powershell. I run it in Admin mode and execute the ssh command
Thank you, thank you, thank you! If ANYONE changed their key pair name after initially saving it, it might reject your login. So go ahead and create a new .ppk file again and don't touch it.
If you are having problems connecting also check these: 1. Ensure you set your IP address when defining your ssh and http settings in ec2 instance. There are online tools to check your IP address. 2. Ensure your anti virus is not having issues with your internet connection or the anti virus vpn is not connected/resolved. You should actually do this before No.1 above but it's not always the case. Note: If your anti virus was recently reconnected/reset check your IP address again and update it in your instance settings. 3. When using Putty Gen application do not click the generate key button rather load your .pem file and just save it as a private key. 4. Do not use paraphrase on the Putty Gen app because it could potentially delay the connection. Finally you can save your connection when connecting to Putty so that you don't repeat the process of specifying your public DNS and private key. Hope this helps.
Great straightforward video walk though. made my life so much easier. AWS documentation is ridiculously complicated for such a simple process. Thank you
