This is very informative! I’m Congolese American 🇨🇩. My parents migrated to the US in the late 90s then I was born. I was raised in a strict Christian upbringing but I don’t resonate with that anymore. I’m now exploring spiritually and am being called to learn more about my ancestors. My mother is l strictly Christian and believes my father’s family practice witch craft.

Thank you so much. At the heart of it all, it's all Kongo and I love the ingenuity that both cultures used to develop their systems. But, yeah...I am so glad to have found my Ancestral path and they helped me to understand the Kongo Way sin regla. I respect it em both and love the hell out of it all. I even love Macumba but I have no need to turn my back on what our Ancestors have done. Others can look down all they want but you know how it goes when you the Ancestors got your back. Thanks again. Greetings, thank you for sharing. I was wondering why paternal and not maternal? I’m curious because my paternal ancestors are the ones who are guiding me.

Hetepu (Peace & Blessings). From my experience, both paternal and maternal assist us but it is typically the paternal line that focuses more on ancestral structure, which ties into protection. One way to think of it is to see the paternal line as establishing and building a fence, while the maternal line tends to everything within. In other words, you may or may not have met them but Big Dad is watching over you, and your Big Momma got your back.
