I have a PC plugged into my monitor at the same time as my Xbox, for some reason every time I plug it in the monitor doesn’t work for the Xbox. The monitor will not switch to Xbox and will just stay at a black screen. I changed the input to HDMI port and nothing works for it, any tips?

I just got a monitor. It has two hdmi ports, a vga, audio in and audio out. Should I hook my Xbox to the hdmi? Or should I get a adapter for vga? Which would be better quality? Oh and it has internal speakers so what should I do with the audio in and out. Oh if I use vga there will be a audio cable won't there?
