Great advice, as always, especially the part about writing getting better and better each day, it being worth more, but not getting easier. I have to remind myself that constantly.

I really want to take your class Damon, not that I'm having an issue, but all classes and workshops help, among others they help address issues before they happen. I really enjoy your channel and I thank you for your time and work. Your humor and thought process is in alignment with mine, so I know it's gonna be great! Next month should be the day, May, my birthday 🎈🎂 my gift. Been saving for it, should be able to make it happen, unless an unexpected expense rears it ugly head up, ....rears? Is that right? Yuppers just goggled it.....Hmmmm, I wonder if that's how we got the insult 'Butt-Head'? Interesting.... Well, as always thank you, and I mashed the like button!

Much obliged, as always, for your comments @dadtype2339. I just sent a message to your email address. Please let me know if, for some reason, it didn't go through. And happy birthday! My best to you!

@@CreateX3-DamonDiMarco Actually I'll wait till Wednesday daylight morning before I send you that PM, this currently Wednesday it's 2:25 AM, I'm up working, but you may not be and being in the East Coast I fear it might Beep your phone, or something, and it's an ungodly hour. I'll send the private message of my email over before 12 noon 04/17/24. See, crazy people wouldn't care about the hour.

I've been at writing for most of my life, especially the last 15 years, and I've just really come into my voice lately. The biggest problem is finishing a book series, that fans love, that does not fully use my full voice.

Hi @DavidAlistairHayden. I’m curious to know more about this. Is there something about your full voice that you feel is somehow not connecting with readers? Or do you sense that they’re not connecting somehow? My initial thought is that a happy medium can and must exist between the two, and also that you can find it. I appreciate you raising this issue here.

@@CreateX3-DamonDiMarco Readers are connecting well with the voice that's in my series. But my voice has developed more in recent years, in a way that doesn't quite match the style of prose I've used. There's a balance there. And I feel I can only push it so far while staying within the series. Some of the short pieces I've written recently have more of a conversational style (more of how I talk and how I grew up talking in Lowe Alabama).

@@DavidAlastairHayden Got it. If it helps any, I think we're supposed to grow as writers and artists. This is a healthy trajectory. In one of the videos I did here, Jack Nicholson talks about how artists can and should embrace their "work of a certain vintage." He defends that work as having been a watermark for where the author was at that moment. It's a snapshot of development, an era like Picasso's Blue Period. Some love it, some hate it but it had to be done so the artist could become more complete down the road. Personally, I'm just happy to hear you're still writing. Congrats on that.

@@CreateX3-DamonDiMarco That makes a lot of sense. It hasn’t been easy these last few years, but I’m managing to get some words down and move forward.

Never anything on finding an idea for a story ffs 😡

For the love of all that's holy, @iancognito6920. Finding story ideas is hardly the problem. Writing them down before they escape? Now that's a problem. In fact, you just inspired me. Week after next, this will be the topic. Watch for it. And thanks for watching.
