Wow I love this! It never made sense to me why people did it the first way you showed but I assumed I just didn’t know enough about makeup so I did it anyways😅 thanks for explaining it I’ll definitely have to give this a go ❤
Originally I use the 2nd method (placing the contour under the cheekbone) but tiktok beauty influencers started to use the 1st method to make the cheekbones look higher? I feel like both works depending on what kind of look you want to achieve. But yes the 2nd one looks good ‘cause it maintains your original structure!
YES. This is what I’ve been saying forever. When special effects MUAs do skulls, they have sharp contrast on the top of the cheekbone and blend downward to mimic shadow. Obviously a skull is a dramatic example, but it’s a good baseline for copying/accentuating bone structure, which is what contouring tries to do. If you want a round baby face, do the first look, but if you want to look thinner/snatched, do the second. *Insert Michael Scott THANK YOU meme*
This would be best on chubby cheeks. To give you my complete honesty, the properly contoured side looks older, while the other looks younger to me. if you already have chubby cheeks then the chiseled side would help and it would still look youthful. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you for this tip !! I have no idea how to do makeup but this is so helpful. There’s an obvious difference at the end , your way is soooo much better. ✨
Depends on what you’re going for. There’s no right or wrong in any of the techniques just different results. I actually do the first method. I do it to make my face rounder to achieve a softer look. It minimizes the appearance of my cheekbones and the concealer underneath brings volume to the sunken in cheeks.
From the caps i think shes trying to get that snatched model bella hadid look which is more sharp rathher than the first where it achieved a different result. I do think theres no right or wrong way to do it tho 😅
I agree. I like high rounder cheekbones to look feminine and youthful. The technique shown can make someone look more mature and sharp. All techniques are good just depends on how you want to look
Ikr? The right side was pretty and snatched but it would look horrible on my long face with high cheekbones because it would just make my face thinner and longer 😢 Goes to show you really just have to find out what works for you and not follow tiktok make up trends so you won’t be dissapointed when it looks bad on your face
i'm an artist and this is always how i've done it, i just applied my knowledge of art and anatomy and this was what i came up with- how dare you give away my secrets! /j
I 💯 agree with you. I never understood the other. I have been doing my makeup for years the way you are showing on the correct size and my photos look bomb every time.
Thanks it helps a lot i’m a slim thick girl and my top body is small but my face round and matches my lower body lol but not my shoulders and it always look so big😭
what matchstix shade do u use? ive been trying to find a cream contour forever, but nothing is right for my shade and i think u might be a closeish match 😭
Hi, I'm a man considering doing something like this. I've never bought any makeup ever and I know nothing about makeup 😂 What all do i need to do this?
