This is how to contour your face for beginners with powder! In this makeup tutorial I will show you how to contour your face with powder and without the need of contouring creams. I will explain why and how it works and which areas you should be contouring your face. This is a great beginner friendly tutorial.

After watching your videos, I've learned to ignore the labels (e.g. bronzer, contour, eyeshadow, blush, foundation, etc.) and see all powders as just one category: pigmented powders. Then I ask myself, "What color do I want for the purpose I have in mind?" I can contour with concealer (thanks to your tutorials!), but contouring with powder is way easier and way faster. So for casual days, I just use a powder foundation that is a few shades darker than my own skin and use that as concealer, eyeliner, and eyeshadow for a barely there makeup look. Your tutorials have actually made me a more critical thinker!

Hi! I tend to always mess up the contouring part. But by watching her tutorial, I first ever tried it. And it came out so well. It was visible yet blended out. Love your tutorials! Thank you for this powder contouring for beginners. I've always skipped it coz I don't know how to do it properly but recent pics from a wedding event showed my face looking extra large due to the glowy foundation look/simple makeup for a day event I had applied without any contouring. I already have the powders so it's time to start practicing!! I'm attending a black tie wedding dinner on saturday night so I would like to look better in pictures for sure! 😆

I really do enjoy your videos the way you showed contouring is the way I do it I call it cheat contouring but it works but that was a good tip on the contouring the nose I see that’s my issue I’ve been using to dark of a shade of bronzer on my nose thanks Nina I’m gonna try a lighter shade of bronzer on my nose next time!

I just powder contoured this morning. I was running late. I love the added piece of using the setting powder to diffuse the nose contour. Great idea! I feel so bad that you have to deal with all the politics with products. I appreciate that you give me the permission to use make-up for different purposes such as using a highlighter for eyeshadow. On vacation I used brown eyeshadow for contour! Thank you for being genuine and real and not letting anyone bully you!!💪 Peace and Love ☮️❤️

Yesterday I bought make-up for the first time. My mom didn't allow me I just did. I bought everything at once and a make-up organizer. I have bronzer, concealer, mascara, lash cruller, brow gel, blush, etc. I don't know how to do make-up so watching these helps me so much. My mom said that I looked like a wh*re, that I couldn't do make-up, and that I looked like a clown. I really want to be able to do make-up because I really enjoy it. When I was little I couldn't do make-up as well. I did it with the kids' make-up things. I'm terrified to try stuff out with make-up. I also can't do eyeliner or anything. If someone has tips please tell me. ( Most of the make-up I bought is from Essence. )

Thank you Nina for this video. I am a weirdo because I like a flat face. My problem with contouring is not blending enough and using too much so that it is too dark. I don't like the obvious contour look. When you spoke about blending on the nose because you don't like seeing lines on the nose, I almost fell off my chair. I feel the same way and I saw a woman last week whose makeup was professionally done and she two very dark lines on her nose. I wanted pull out my blending brush and fix it.

Thank you so much for a simple powder contouring video- super helpful. I’m wondering where exactly blush goes after what you did in the video. Does it go above the darker cheekbone powder and does it follow the shape of the dark shade? I feel like I have the placement of the dark powder areas down, but have trouble with the blush. Does anyone have any advice for this or can direct me to a video that’ll help?

Okay - during the summer I often don't wear any foundation other than a touch of concealer under my eyes, because I prefer a natural look. Can I still use a powder contour or bronzer on top of bare (just moisturizer) skin?

Great tip for olive skin tones.. If you can't find the right contour shade since it's supposed to replicate the shadows on your face just go through your brown eyeshadows and find your perfect cool toned shade using your eyeshadows.

They have bought out products now for multipurpose use like lip cheeks and eye products, so what's the difference between bronzer and contour? It does the same thing and as long as it works then it works! Head to my 'contouring' playlist and it should answer it for you. You don't have to do both. I like contouring for sculpting and bronzing for adding warmth but in strategic places.

Can you use a darker highlighter powder as contour? I was instructed by a “makeup expert” to buy a darker shade than my skin tone online, and it is definitely not a highlighter for me, and they won’t let me return it. I’m hoping I can still use it though

Oh my goodness Nina! This weekend I had a wedding, I asked someone to do the make up for my sister in law, manly because she has A LOT of dark spots from aging and I just got scared and preferred to put her make up in professional hands.
