Dude, I know I'm 8 years late to the game but I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos for absolute beginners. Me and my best friend wanted to start playing Starcraft 2 as a fun and challenging RTS game on our free weekends. To prepare for this we watched your series on how the game works and it prepared us perfectly to have so much fun with this otherwise really intimidating and complex game. Thank you so much!
@@skxlk2817def! don't get alot of time to play, but awsome. Out at moment n not sure of my tag lol. But will def let u no it when get on. I bad Tho. Really bad lol
Having restarted playing SC2 after so many years, it still amazes me how much gameplay this game offers. I watch GSL, ESL since SC1, but I want to say watching these videos have really helped me with the fundamentals and enjoy playing starcraft again.
I cannot stress how helpful these videos are to someone who has never played starcraft before. All other sources I've approached have been confusing but this breaks it down to manageable bites. Thank you so much!
Hey there Altercate, these are amazing videos. I can't tell you how many times I jump into a new game feeling overwhelmed and end up despising the game. These videos really helped me grasp a greater understanding of StarCraft2. I really hope you post more soon as I do love these videos.
The "grid layout" option that you mention is a great idea and I'd recommend anyone to give it a shot - it might be a great fit for you. I haven't tried it because I feel like it's easier for me to memorize specific letters rather than positions. I also like to keep the settings as close to default as possible, but it's a matter of personal preference. :) Sorry for the super late reply, I've been away all summer basically! Maybe too late to help you but this reply might help someone else.
I have bought SC2 nearly a year ago and was pretty discouraged because I knew f* all about the controls, I could not remember any of them, the tutorials were pretty useless... ... And then I stumbled upon your videos for beginners. Very helpful, very didactic, gets you started quickly... I can at last attempt to finish the campaigns now (well, in casual difficuly). Thanks a lot!
Glad I could help! At the core, the game is the same as when it was first released. The only major change (besides new units) is that the game went from starting you on six workers to twelve workers. 😀
Awesome this is exactly what I needed, I'm sick of "How to play like a Pro" videos and whole videos just Bla bla bla bla bla. One question how can i control all unit move at the same time, I have seen a lot of people controlling a large number of units moving continuously?.
Glad you liked the video! I'm not sure exactly what you mean but it sounds like you might be talking about the "Select All Units" hotkey, which defaults to F2. If you hit this button, it will select ALL of your army units on the entire map so you can move them all at once. It's a useful tool, but you should try not to become too reliant on it. I think I talk more in detail about this in my hotkey video, which is ironically called "How to control the game like a pro" lmao
Dude, i hope all is well to you i played this game when i was a young age. Time flies and here i am playing it again i took me some time to install. But finally i can play i have to go back to the basic as my hands are a liitle bit rusty.. 😁
Hi! Thanks for the comment. :) I've been sidelined by summer and vacations more or less which is why things have grinded to a halt around here. I definitely want to finish up the series though so I'll try to get back into it now that my vacation is over.
By default, something called "Simple Command Card" is enabled. To get the full list of commands, you need to disable this option. Go to the main menu, click "Options", then "Gameplay". Remove the checkmark in the box "Enable Simple Command Card". Accept the changes, and you're good to go!
Hi, know im late but are you gonna do a more specific video on attack units in races separetly, like in what order to create them, how many each, what/when to upgrade etc. Or maybe have a link to a video that explains it easily. Just started this game and most of the videos overwhelmes you with the informations and tactics, but youre vids explain it very well to a new player.
Hi! Thanks for your comment. I'm planning to make a video in the near future explaining the strengths and weaknesses of every unit in the game. Later on I may make a video talking about how to combine different units at various stages of the game, which I think could be quite useful!
First of all: Nice work !! But I have question there is a option for the hotkeys that the block on the bottom right represents my left side of the keyboard. dont you think that this is maybe easier to learn ?
StarCraft 2 is fairly optimized, it can run at 20-30 frames per second (On the lowest graphic settings) on even a 5-7 year old computer. It is recommended that you get a better computer, and play on the lowest graphic settings, for the best performance so you're orders are issued as soon as possible and you can gather information as fast as possible.
