got to say this absolutely fantastic and agree with everyone when digital first came out ive been looking for something like this .well done so easy to follow i have done a few now my first the led eye was a little bit further back than yours but works fine ... thankyou

Odd that Scalextric marketed these as 962's when in fact if you look at the real cars it was indeed a 956; but then they also labelled what was basically a 911 RSR/934 as a 935.

The links to find the Template/Guide and Receptacle for the digital chip are no longer functioning. What details would I need to have an online 3d printer print a few out for me? Or, do you sell them yourself?

I would like to know if I can swap the body over from a Scalextric C4107 Chevrolet Corvette which isn't DPR, but the Scalextric Chevrolet Corvette C4215 is DPR, instead of doing all the replacing what is in this video.

I’ve just bought the retro Castrol Jaguar XJ8 and the C7005 F1 retro chip (as everyone says these are best, plus the saloon chips are sold out) How does this mod work when the cars have lights? Will they still work? Cheers

Good question. I've not done a conversion with the 7005 yet, but it will likely be easier to put in a bridge rectifier circuit and full the lights from that.

@@FAWRailsandSlots hmm, I’m new to all this converting…my practical skills are fine, but I wouldn’t even know where to start with a bridge rectifier circuit, haha. Do you think that I could just leave the lights connected to the braids so that they would work like they usually would as analog? I just want to be a be able to use this car on an Arc Pro circuit. Im not bothered about the chip controlling the lights as long as they work.

@stejones697 If you wire it to the braids, it won't work I'm afraid. It will likely fuse the track too.

@@FAWRailsandSlots right ok, I’ve just read on forum that someone has wired into the braids. I’ll just follow the instructions and leave the lights if necessary, I don’t want to cock anything up

@@stejones697 you can wire them to the braids if its analogue, but not if you're going digital.

Hi, the Porsche that I converted is analogue. The parts and tools you need are shown at the start of this video. Basically, you need the chip, the wiring harness and soldering equipment.

Hi Chris, I don't have any chips so it would be far quicker, cheaper and easier to buy one from a model shop or ebay. I sell the holder and the harness, link on the description

Good question! I thought it would be far easier to modify the chassis. How wrong I was. I'm working on a fully 3d-printed chassis but its difficult to get the tolerances right. A subject for a future video.

Hi Roger, I don't actually sell those as I didn't find them very useful. More of a hindrance actually. It's easily to either make a template out of cardboard or to use marks on masking tape.

Good luck. I need to pull my finger out and convert my saloon cars. They're much narrower than the Porsche and a challenge to fit the chip in.

Yeah it came out of a working dpr car! Might have a play about swapping the wires around maybe ive put something back on the wrong way round or something! Keep you posted
